Horrible patient care I made an appointment and specifically wrote that I needed a chest x-ray and I called to make sure that an x-ray tech perdition was available. Once they confirmed my appointment time and they told me they could see me as a patient but the x-ray tech had to leave early. Not even a phone call. I needed a refill on an expired prescription. The nurse practitioner gave me 1 day or 2 pills and didn't tell me she was giving me 1 day's worth. I waited 1.5 hours, paid 75.00 dollars and will have to this all again on Monday through my doctor. The ladies at the front were very unprofessional well one of them. I believe you get a certificate or tittle letting every patient who comes here know you are going to be treated well and with professionalism. That wasn't my experience today after my follow up for a wrist sprain. She told me to stay at the room until the health provider said I was good to go. General physical and drug screening. Filled out the required paperwork in a hot stuffy waiting area. Called into the exam room . Waiting for close to an hour, I open the door for some cooler air, was told it had to stay closed. Around 12 pm a physician assistant gave me a quick physical and a TB test. Another staff member said I. You need a drug screening you can wait longer or come back . All I had to do was pee in a bottle. If they told me they had the emergency that they said was going on I would have left But to keep somebody in a room with no updates or anything is poor practice. I went back Sunday morning provided my sample and was out I'm a matter of minutes. I understand things happen but Better communication is essential in the medical field. The absolute worse care I have ever had. Front desk more concerned with ordering dinner than a line of patients waiting in line with extreme pain to be checked in. Yes I know it's 6 pm on a Sunday. But I wouldn't be here if I wasn't in extreme pain and needed help. 9 patients to be seen, 5 of them all within 10 minutes of closing time (8 pm). RN and PA both wicked rushed and could not give a F. I told discharge nurse I was sorry that she had to be there 15 minutes past closing time and she laughed hysterically--at the fact that I actually cared (????) Was told my prescription would be sent over to the 24/7 pharmacy THAT NIGHT but funny that pharmacy has nothing. Guess I'll have to wait til the morning Do not go here. read more

I live down the street from here. Walked in for an earache. I was impressed with how coordinated the staff were and it was BUSY!!! The nurse practicioner was awesome. They'll see everyone who's white before they even think about seeing you. I reached out to AFC urgent Care in Stoneham last night to inquire about Covid Testing. Although they were unable to pick up the phone, I left a detailed voicemail and they made sure to get back to my voicemail in a timely manner. I was unable to pick up the phone at the time they called, however the representative made sure to answer my questions in the voicemail to streamline the process. The online appointment portal for Covid Testing was showing no availability for a few days, yet they were able to accommodate me first thing this morning. The testing was pretty straightforward and quick. Filled out two pieces of paperwork, showed insurance/ ID, and they conducted the swab test while I was in the car. The gentleman who was administering the test was very pleasant and made the process very simple. I was out within 25 minutes. I know that a lot of people have complained about their experiences here, however these people may only have a modicum of patience to begin with. These essential workers are already exposing themselves and trying to be available in light of everything going on. There will be high volumes of patients at times, and they have to tend to everybody. It's a high stress environment for everyone. If your treatment was mis-diagnosed, then you should have just gone to your primary care physician from the get-go, or the emergency room of your local hospital. Stop complaining. Chances are you did not disclose all of the symptoms/issue for them to make an informed decision.... since you're too busy getting aggravated and complaining. read more

I was sent here for urine drug test. The girl at the front desk has the personality of a wet sponge. There was another girl that seems friendlier but i didn't talk to her. The girl was more interested in her cell phone than putting my info in the computer. i was not such so i wanted out of there as soon as possible and waited half hour plus to pee in a cup, ugh!! read more

I have never had any luck there so I hesitated to go but I had a sinus infection, which I get every year. Usually I get a zpack. But my dr said their office and their urgent care were fully booked. Doogie Howser, "provider" comes in with a full hazmat outfit on, takes my blood pressure so tight I thought my hand would fall off, told me it was normal. Alright, in 50 years I have never had my hand turn purple but ok. Looks in my ears but not nose or throat, tells me I don't have an ear or a sinus infection. I know when I have a sinus infection, I need a zpack. He says my doctor is outdated and zpacks are not for sinus infection, amoxicillan is. Ok. My MGH doctor is not as up to date as Doogie at AFC clinic. Got it. I am also allergic to amoxicillan and my out of date doctor usually looks in nose for sinus infection. Waste of a copay. read more

Went here for a COVID test for travel. Test was certainly quick enough. But the test results were a strange printout that did not even list the kind of test. It had a completely different format than other tests results I had received, and I've now taken several. I wrote AFC asking for another copy of the results, but there was no reply. Well, who cares what I think of their test result sheet? The bigger problem was at airport checkin, where the gate agent had the same reaction -- what is this ****, we cannot accept it. I called AFC, but they said that there result printout is what it is and it is not their fault if governments or airlines do not accept it! One thing they would never give in writing at all was the price. The only way I could discover it beforehand was to stop by the office and hear it orally; and when I emailed afterwards asking for a receipt, nobody replied. This obviously does not say anything about other aspects of AFC Stoneham's care. But the fact that they communicate so badly might reflect on other procedures. read more

During my time of sitting in the waiting room I watched the person behind the counter turn away 4 people for walk in appointments and Covid testing. Then two people walk in and ask for a test cause they are taking a trip. They know one of the people sitting at the desk. Neither of them are wearing their masks correctly. Next thing you know they are filling out paperwork for a test. A little unfair and should be handled. read more

Don't expect to be seen on time. Your appointment means nothing. Plan to wait for a minimum of an hour if you are lucky.

My experience with this urgent care was positive and life changing. I've been to urgent care facilities and ERs where the wait time takes forever. The wait time here is a lot less. Additionally, the nurse practitioners, nurses, medical assistants at this place show empathy, compassion and medical expertise. I'm very happy with my experience here and will think again before going to another urgent care facility. read more

My wife had contracted the flu two days earlier and sure enough I got it from her a few days later. She had gone to the clinic on Friday and spoke glowingly about the service etc. Walked in and told the story about my wife being there two days earlier. Receptionist pulled back like I had leprosy and said "put on a mask and fill this out over there" When I finished the paperwork and brought it back there was no thank you etc. but there was a demand for "you owe a $45 dollar copay ". No please, no thank you. When I asked for a receipt of my copay I felt I was bothering her. Was Brought in to a room and had my vitals taken and then waited for the Doctor to come in. Doctor was fabulous, quickly diagnosed me and sent me on my way. If not for the grumpy receptionist I would have given 5 stars. read more

This is my second time coming here. I am sitting and waiting to be seen, and I have never heard such a rude person at the front desk. Apparently, Pam at the front desk is having a really bad day, because she is loudly and unprofessionally berating her co-workers. There are multiple people waiting to be seen that are having to listen to her incredibly rude and disrespectful comments/behavior. Very unpleasant, unprofessional, and inappropriate. Would give it 0 starts if I could. Had an appointment at 10:30 and didn't get brought to a room until 11:45 where I then waited for 30 more minutes before someone even spoke to me. Went in for dizziness and the medical assistant who took my vitals asked about my symptoms but the NP or whoever saw me came in and was very obviously not even listening to me and just told me to go to the ER because they can't do anything for me there and told me the ER could "test for the scary stuff" (definitely not what you want to hear when you already have severe anxiety). Was there for 2 and a half hours and got absolutely nothing from the visit except a feeling like I have some serious condition. Absolutely horrified at the way these people carry themselves as medical professionals who are supposed to care for people for a living. read more

THE WORST PLACE EVER! Wish I could give it no stars. DO NOT GO HERE. Please trust the bulk of the reviews that say the same. Wish I read these before going. While the staff was nice enough (didn't even see a dr), it has been 1 1/2 weeks since I went and I still have not received basic lab work back-CBC, Metabolic Panel. Basic throat culture took 4 days for results. Every time I call I either don't get a person or if I do, they each tell me something different-oh it takes 24 hours, 48 hours, 3-5 business days, not back yet, we'll call the lab...No consistency. No follow through. No follow up. And don't believe the reviews that say they check up on you. THEY DO NOT. and they do not return phone calls (they say they do but it's all a lie). When I went to pick up my prescription, it wasn't there and I couldn't get thru to the office so I went in person and very nicely asked if they could send it in for me. Just so happens they sent it to the wrong pharmacy, even though 2 different people asked me to verify my pharmacy location. I could go on but I am hoping to ask my insurance NOT to pay them for their services or lack of services. I am writing a letter of complaint to the main office and sending a copy to the Better Business Bureau. I will also see if my complaint qualifies for a letter to the Attorney Generals office as well. It's unsafe for anyone with a health concern. What they are good at is getting your payment information, including a credit card # and crv code (which I wouldn't leave, thank God) It is strictly a money making business not a health care business. The waiting room isn't even safe (and I waited 1 1/2 hrs). There are chairs right next to each other, it's overcrowded, etc. Some folks waited in their cars. Do NOT use this facility, horrible experience. Waited for several hours to have my tick bites examined. I have 2 large bullseye rash areas from a tick and wanted antibiotics for fear of Lyme disease. Instead I recieved a lecture from the PA on the over prescription of antibiotics ending with her refusal to prescribe them for me. She also told me, despite the fact that I have Blue Cross coverage, that I had to pay out of pocket or get my job to cover the cost because the bites happened at work. What is this....a scam business?? I intend to call the better business bureau. Everything I see online says a tick rash should be treated with antibiotics. Spent 3 hours of my time there for nothing. Told us covid test results would be back 1-3 days before our vacation had to cancel cuz only mine came back when me and my boyfriend got them done together.. now after canceling the trip and paying 150 each for the tests he just got the email saying his results got spilled and transit we r pissed. This place was the worst. I had to go there for a pre-employment drug screen. So I waited till my bladder was full, drove to Stoneham where I had to fill out paperwork. Filled it out after 5 minutes I asked secretary if I could have cup because I needed to go. She told me I had to wait for the other 3 people infont of me. I said Really Im here just to give urine. She rudely said theres nothing she could do. When the MA came out she told her what I said they both laugh looking directly at me and said oh well guess she's gonna wait some more. Well that pissed me off. Very unprofessional. Would have raised a stink but was afraid they would tamper with my urine. Note to Management you should revise this policy. It takes 5 min to do a urine. Instead of them sitting at the reception desk waiting for a room to become available they should have helped me. It. should not have taken 52min for a urine. On the other hand I took my daughter to the Burlington site. Staff was professional and the PA Kayla Carnell was beyond awesome!! Do not go here. I wouldn't let them change a band aid . I took my husband there last week because he was having agonizing back pain. They were more interested in his O2 Sat and Blood pressure which he is on meds for. What they should Have done was take an X-ray which they did not.
