I even repeatedly told her that I believed her diagnosis was wrong but she was adamant she was right bc she was the doctor and that the meds were safe! Ok, I went to specialist. Guess what they said? They said, after actually doing tests (which Kayla Peeples never done any testing, just guessed), I did not have what Kayla Peeples diagnosed me with and the medication she prescribed me with long term were inappropriate and would not address my issue! So I'm glad I didn't just blindly trust some doctor who works at a walk in clinic! I mean really how can you diagnose someone without running tests and prescribe a medication that can cause serious lifelong issues long term without confirming I 100% need them?? If you need to be seen here bc it's cheap, just don't see this Kayla chick, she's a very cold, unfriendly doctor who doesn't listen! Note it's like $80-$90 to be seen without insurance. Also their receptionists are so rude, judgy and snotty! And the clinic just feels rather gross.

However, this experience was fantastic! Karina at the front desk was incredibly friendly and helpful while cleaning up my wound. Alicia, who did my stitches, was equally wonderful. I went in with a sore throat and was swabbed for COVID and strep, had a brief conversation with a PA and left with an Rx for steroids. The bill was $638. It cost $250 to walk in the door, the conversation with the PA was an additional $88, and the COVID swab alone was $250. It was billed as PCR (it was not, results were available within 10 minutes). After multiple phone calls and emails, the consensus with their outsourced billing department is that they don't know what they providers charge for and the consensus at the urgent care is that the rates are set by the outsourced billing department. No one reached back out to me. I don't even care that I waited 2 hours past my appointment time. I just can't understand how I could owe them almost $200 for such basic services when they already received well over $400. I would recommend asking them to run the numbers on anything they offer to do- could have saved several hundred dollars by letting them know I already tested negative for COVID at home on a $7 test.

Seemed I made an impression and they had genuine concern for my wellbeing. Ann told me to finish the medication and return if symptoms got worse. Walk-in lucky timing, get to see Dr. within 20min after competent front desk check in and after nurse takes vitals, asks the right questions retakes Covid test, & gets wife on oxygen awaiting the Doc. Doc Humpal sizes up (wife is one complicated unit, incidentally on oral chemo) orders x-ray. X-ray tech takes wife for few min, gets results (neg. for pneumonia) to Doc, who (IMHO, I'm an engineer) treats for asthma flare up. We are dispatched with a portable oxygen concentrator (which we will conveniently drop at MPH on our way to airport tomorrow.) Picked up meds @ Safeway pharmacy.
