If you like sitting in a waiting room for hours then this is the place for you. The slowest doctor's office I have ever been to.

This is actually for the Parliament location on, so if you ask, I will remove it from your reviews…read more Just came back from there after 2 hours of waiting with not even an acknowledgement. Facility has no coffee cups, no toilet papers in toilet, and staff are laughing in the back but have no genuine care for the patients. They are behind a closed door, and it never opened up except for when a patient came out from being seen. There was an elderly couple who was also waiting, and a lady in for a job screening, and were all just forced to wait with no telling on how long the wait would be. Yes, it was on a Sunday, and yes, I understand that they also see kids at the practice, but... When I had arrived, there were 3 kids and 0 adults in the waiting area. 2 hours without anyone coming out to say 'oh there are 7 people in front of you' or even acknowledging that we are there. Their automated check in system tells you 'You may experience a few minutes of wait' but... not an hours. When a lady had an inquiry a rep opened the door, and I used that chance to ask 'how many people were ahead of me' and told that that I was planning on leaving if it was going to be too long. She got my name and went back, and must have forgot about the task, because I didn't hear back for another 8 minutes, which is when I decided to leave. They have the pre-register and automated check-in process, but it obviously does not operate based on actual availability/wait times as you're being forced to wait another hour afterwards. With all this being said... please at least check the bathrooms and refreshment area to make sure they are clean and that customers have access to the basic necessities. Thank you.

Given his history of ear infections, we were concerned he might have another one. After waiting over an hour to be seen (which we understand can happen when they're busy), we spoke with the nurse about his symptoms. The nurse practitioner then entered the room and immediately asked us to explain why we were there. Before we could even finish describing his symptoms, she cut us off and dismissed our concerns, stating that he was "just teething" and that a fever of 100.9°F "isn't a real fever." When we insisted that his symptoms were more serious than teething, she doubled down, claiming he didn't have a runny nose, cough, sneezing, or a serious fever. It took persistent advocacy on our part for her to finally agree to examine his ears. Sure enough, he had a severe ear infection. Had we accepted her initial assessment, we would have left without proper treatment after wasting over two hours of our time. While we understand that children can have overlapping symptoms, the dismissive attitude and complete disregard for our concerns as parents felt incredibly disrespectful and unprofessional. Parents know their children best, and being brushed off like that when seeking care for a sick child is unacceptable. I would not recommend this urgent care to anyone with a young child.

DO NOT go to this UNPROFESSIONAL ESTABLISHMENT!!! (They are VERBALLY Volatile, aggressive & again…read moreUNPROFESSIONAL) I am completely appalled, disturbed, and ultimately DISGUSTED! PLEASE READ: So I gave this establishment a call at 4:58pm & I asked them an insurance question. I was literally 20 mins away. I saw the establishment closed at 6 so I had a decent amount of time to get there so my daughter could be seen. I pull up at 5:33pm. I get to the doors & they are locked. In my mind I thought maybe the doors were locked for safety purposes being that it's daylights saving and it's getting closer to closing time. So I knocked harder just in case they were in the back and couldn't hear me. Next thing you know I hear a woman that's parked near the front door literally roll her window down and scream rudely, "We're closed!" I then stated, "Well, I just got off the phone with you all and y'all didn't mention anything about closing early, plus the hours online state that you all close at 6pm." She again abruptly yells out, "WELL WE'RE CLOSED, you must be DAMN mad or something the way you're banging on the door!" & then she proceeded to laugh!! I WAS IN COMPLETE SHOCK!!! I literally thought this was a prank! Here I am standing outside a suppose to be "professional establishment" with my 2 year old daughter, & my 5 year old niece while this "suppose to be professional woman" is laughing In my sick daughter's face about being closed! In response to her ignorance I stated, "Now I see why this establishment is almost a 2 STAR in reviews & rating!!" The story gets worse! As I'm walking to my car with 2 children this grown woman is still cursing and laughing! So I pull my phone out and begin to record! I recorded the building, the time/date which was located on my Apple Watch and it just so happen that the tag plates are seen as well! ( Now The WORST PART) This grown woman gets out her car open the facility back up with the keys to the building and said come sign in since you want to be seen so bad!! Whoever that was left in the building must have asked, "Who are you arguing with?" She loudly yells, "Some ghetto dumb ass lady!" Meanwhile, she's in her work clothes in front of her work building cursing in front of the establishment while I'm RECORDING her! But I'M the DUMB ONE?! Again I'm in complete shock because now this ignorant "suppose to be professional" has acknowledged that you were suppose to be open but you decided to close the doors! Which to me indicates to me a number of things! I will be taking this to the highest level that I can legally. As a professional woman thinking I'm walking into a professional establishment only for me to have to literally cover my sick daughter's ears from profanity is beyond me!! After reading through reviews I see clearly this is a normal practice at this establishment b/c they have a # of 1 star reviews complaining about the same thing! This is very unfortunate but in hindsight this may have been what needed to happen, I'm a woman of my word & this is now personal for me b/c my 2 year old daughter was involved! I will ensure that this is reported on ALL LEVELS! & if you experience this please contact the Better Business bureau SN: I attached the phone call I made prior to me showing up, I've also attached their online # & address. Just in case they try to change the name/number of this establishment b/c again I'm taking this as far as I can legally/through the media & all My 2 year old daughter was involved and should have not witnessed that! Stay tuned for the videos and pics after I seek legal advice on taking this to the media!

One young female just looked at me and smirked so I went to the next window and I told the other young female what I needed she said,"it's 7:00pm, we closed sweetheart!"in a sarcastic manner! Dr. Mark Anthony Pita is one of the most heartless, unprofessional, and dangerous doctors I've ever encountered. In August 2020, I came to AFC Primed on Berryhill Rd in Montgomery, AL in serious back pain after work. I was a young Black man just trying to get medical help. Instead, I was mocked by the nurses when I tried to speak (possibly due to my voice or speech impediment), and then subjected to a cold, careless exam by Dr. Pita. He didn't introduce himself. Didn't show a shred of empathy. I explained my symptoms and lifted my shirt to show the sunk on my left side, and I saw this man flinch in disgust like I was something gross. He poked around a little, said one side was stronger, and sent me off for an X-ray. The tech was the only respectful person there. When he returned, he walked in the room and didn't even sit down. Didn't look me in the eye. He just said flatly: "You have scoliosis. It's something people live with." No context. No plan. Just a soul-crushing statement with zero care. When I had an emotional breakdown, he didn't react, not even human concern. I had to ask him about yoga or physical therapy, and all he gave me was a half-assed nod and a dismissive "Sure, you can try yoga." He handed me a prescription for muscle relaxers that could've harmed me, and walked out like I was a waste of time. Later, when I needed a signature for unemployment (because my job was worsening my condition), he basically accused me of being lazy. "I have patients with scoliosis who work just fine," he said smugly, ignoring my actual pain. He deliberately blocked my claim by writing I could work as long as I didn't lift over 30 lbs. Another doctor told me that if I'd kept working that job, I could've ended up paralyzed. Dr. Pita nearly destroyed my future because he refused to listen, to care, or to act like a decent human being. This man trained at the USC Keck School of Medicine, yet he bounces between low-grade AFC clinics with awful reviews -- that should tell you everything. His previous practice in Mobile? Shut down. Why? Take a wild guess. Dr. Mark Anthony Pita is a walking malpractice case. He sees struggling Black men as lazy, not human. He's not just a bad doctor, he's a danger to patients. Avoid this doctor at all costs. He shouldn't be allowed near anyone.

He never introduced himself and flinched when I lifted my shirt to show a dip on my left side--something no patient should ever see from a doctor. He briefly examined me and sent me for an X-ray. When he returned, he told me I had scoliosis in the coldest, most robotic tone possible. No sympathy, no explanation, no help, just, "Scoliosis is something people have to live with." When I began to break down emotionally, scared and overwhelmed, he showed zero concern. He never looked me in the eyes, and when I asked about yoga, physical therapy, or treatments, he bobbled his head repeatedly like he wasn't listening, clearly annoyed that I was even asking. It felt like I wasn't worth his time. He prescribed muscle relaxers and left. Later, I returned to him at the AFC Taylor Crossing location (after having to track him down) to get unemployment paperwork signed. Instead of offering understanding, he questioned why I quit my job and said, "I have patients with scoliosis who can work just fine," completely ignoring my worsening condition. He scribbled a note saying I could work as long as I didn't lift over 30 pounds, which blocked my unemployment and again, dismissed my pain. A second doctor later told me that if I had stayed at my job, I could have become paralyzed or needed emergency surgery. Dr. Pita failed me. I felt stereotyped as a lazy Black man trying to avoid work instead of being seen as a human being who needed help. His attitude was cold, careless, and emotionally harmful. Please, be cautious if you're considering him for care. Patients deserve to be treated with compassion, not indifference. Dr. Pita's body language said it all. Throughout both visits, he avoided direct eye contact, barely spoke to me, and constantly bobbled his head while I tried to voice real concerns about my condition and future. It felt like I was being brushed off for simply advocating for my health. I wasn't being dramatic. I was a young man trying to understand a painful spinal condition that had the potential to affect me for life. Instead of empathy, I was met with cold detachment and annoyance. At no point did he explain what Scoliosis actually was, how it worked, what treatments were available, or how serious my case might be. He never mentioned whether I should seek physical therapy, use a brace, get imaging done with a specialist, or even how to manage pain safely. I had to beg for answers, and all I got was a half-hearted response that I "could try yoga." There was no follow-up, no referral, and no concern for my long-term health. After being dismissed at my first visit, I was already feeling ashamed and lost. Then having to go back and practically plead with the same doctor for documentation to help protect my health and livelihood was even worse. It's one thing to be ignored -- it's another to be looked at like you're faking or trying to take advantage of the system. That's how I felt how he treated me: not like a patient, but like a problem he wanted out of the room. What's most disturbing is that his poor judgment and lack of care directly influenced decisions about my ability to survive financially. He wrote down that I could still work, which led to me being denied unemployment -- even though another doctor later told me I was at risk of permanent damage. I was told I made the right call by leaving that job when I did. If I had listened to Dr. Pita, I might've been seriously injured or worse. As a young Black man, I can't ignore the racial and class dynamics at play here. I came in wearing my work uniform, clearly exhausted and in pain. From the way I was treated, it felt like I was viewed as just another Black man trying to get out of work, rather than someone in genuine need of help. That unspoken bias is what makes the emotional damage cut even deeper. People like me are already less likely to be believed in medical settings, and this experience only reinforced that fear. I don't take writing reviews like this lightly. I've held this in for years, but I can't stay silent knowing someone else might go through what I did. No patient should ever feel belittled, dismissed, or treated like their pain doesn't matter. If even one person reconsiders trusting Dr. Pita with their care because of this review, then sharing my story was worth it. I highly recommend finding a REAL doctor who will take your concerns seriously, communicate clearly, and treat you like a person, not a burden.
