I just finished reading a bunch of the 1 star reviews. My experience was not that bad, and personally I don't care if the receptionist is eating pizza while on a personal call. Jobs suck, let them have their fun, damn. Wish I could be getting paid to eat pizza on a personal call. Anyways, my experience was quite fair, hence the 3-star rating of A-Ok. A staffing agency's job is to find you jobs. They did that. The options are limited though, which is why I am not rating it higher than a 3. They mainly only staff for labor/warehouse-type jobs, or the opposite, office/clerical jobs. They do not offer any part time positions, only full time, which is great if you have a family to take care of, but not really so great when you dread the wage slave life and don't have kids to take care of. The staffing agents are legit about your resume, and what I mean by this is they actually check your references, and ask you questions about unemployment gaps, and the time you spend at your jobs, because they do not want to waste their time with a loser. My resume is pretty bad, because I have many jobs that are short-lived and they worried I would just quit quickly if they put me in a new spot, but I spoke to them like a real human-to-human being with emotions talk, and basically told them how it is, and that I know my resume looks bad, but I need a job desperately. They were willing to give me a chance and put me in a position with Vericool which was nice, because my friend worked there and wanted me to work there in the first place (the reason I chose Aerotek initially). However, 2 weeks into the job Vericool fires me, and Aerotek and Vericool both have not provided me with a reason as to why I was fired. I heard a reason from my friend who still works there, but I'm not sure how accurate that was. Aerotek did say they will find out why I got fired, but they never did. I guess that was the only bad thing about Aerotek to me, but it's not enough for me to bump it down to a 2 star rating. At-Will-Employment protects employers from discrimination or petty reasons for firing someone, and I hate it. Overall, I had an okay experience with Aerotek, and if I need full-time work again, I hope they answer my emails. read more

He handed me a pile of papers, and the reality of my situation materialized. My desperate hope of this being an asinine work prank or something I could haggle my way out of, instantly died. "I'm sorry," he reiterated, as I blankly scanned my severance agreement. I was stunned. He tried softening the blow.... he could help me type up a stellar recommendation. Gee, thanks - I thought. A victim of downsizing so like everyone else, I updated, revised and revamped my resume and uploaded it into all the job boards I could find. I started networking and created an LI account. I sent my resume like a message in a bottle and hoped someone out there would like me back. Fast forward two weeks and I get a call from "K" at Aerotek. He found my resume "impressive and felt that I would be a great fit for one of their clients." Woohoo! An appointment was made for the following day. Armed with my shiny new resume, honorable list of professional references and glowing letter of recommendation, I was raring to meet "K." For some reason or another, I was shuffled over to see J.M. Hmm, we're off to a wonderful start. J.M.: "Unfortunately, the position has been filled." I thought- okay that was fast, where do we go from here? J.M. seemed obliging and considerate at first. She says to keep her in the loop with my availability, that they do have other jobs in my field, and that she will contact her associates and will definitely give me a call before the end of the business day. 5:00 rolls around and no phone call. What a flake! I made an attempt to call her in the morning. No shocker, I get her voice mail. Over the next several weeks I sent emails and left numerous messages but not one was returned. I have to say very weak follow through, clearly, the recruiter had no concept of the word communication. She was busy planning her dive into the cold San Francisco Bay. Are you kidding me!? What complete and utter lack of professionalism. It's like Aerotek went fishing and I took the bait. Luckily, I found a position on my own that I'm happy with. :D read more

They love to make you promises on the amount of jobs they get in but once you send in your resume you find out they have a very specific short term memory and all those jobs turn into 'very few if any'. Ironically while this branch loves to promise potential applicants the world they hold a strict militant attitude if applicants do not communicate promptly with them. Because of a series of stressfull situations I caused my friend they could not meet an interview made by this agency and instead of being understanding they decided a fair response was to blacklist them from any jobs through this office. It's sad for a company that makes a profit by placing people for jobs can be so insensitive they turn away people for situations that they had no control over. This branch belongs with other 'wonderful' agencies... Like Apple One, Addeco, the local drug dealers on the street.... No matter their promises this office loves to play favorites as long as they get your resume into the system to pad the folder. read more

Someone is truly on the right track... Bravo Aerotek. Bravo! If you're in the job market(which many of us are) and have been defeated by going it alone you DO have a choice. We can continue to do it on our own or employ an agency to assist(remember that word) us in our pursuit. Where Benchmark and Nelson Staffing have failed Aerotek has it all together from the ground up. Why? Because they have not lost track of why they do what they do. They know it's tough out there and they LISTEN and then respond with answers. They're not a conglomerate of overly-caffeinated, repetitive, robot, Love-my-job, Love-my-job zealots on the phones nor behind the desk. They're... oh God forbid I say this... they're "compassionate" and they know what it takes to educate those whom walk through their doors. They're in the likes of doctors with a good mind to diagnose the inadequacies of their clientele whose job is to not judge but "direct" and "coach" people through the process from beginning to end and they'll go out of their way to do so. Just like every other agency on the map their appointment book is maxed. What sets this Aerotek office on a shelf above the others is their ability to remain consistent thereby exhibiting grace under pressure. I couldn't believe actually getting in touch with Aerotek twice to get a great opportunity. If I posted a review after my first interaction with them a few years ago, I would've gave them only 1 star since not only did I have to drive almost 50 miles from where I live (Livermore - Alameda), I didn't hear anything back from the recruiter about a position I seemed to be qualified for (not even a "Sorry, they hired somebody else" or something of that nature). Flash forward to October 2016, an Aerotek recruiter from the Fairfield office calls me about this wonderful opportunity to work for a biotech startup close to home (in Pleasanton). After a bunch of empty promises and other sketchy recruiter calls, I'd figured I would give Aerotek another chance. I couldn't have been any happier as not only the recruiter decided it would be best for me to meet him in the San Ramon office, but he basically got me an interview with the company soon after I met him in person for the initial "screening" to see if this opportunity was a good fit. I went in to interview with the company reps and was hired literally an hour after the interview (the recruiter called me to tell me the good news). Throughout the 1+ year that I've been under contract through Aerotek, he was very prompt in responding to my questions or at least pointing me to the right people I can talk to and now I'm about to become a permanent employee in another week. However, as far as the San Ramon office is concerned, I can understand the seemingly unprofessional environment as I probably would have been as frustrated if I had to go through with the people there. I was fortunate to have the recruiter from Fairfield get through all of the business for/with me (the San Ramon employees basically made sure I filled out my W-4 and other general paperwork as well as remind me to fill out my time cards). The only other negative I can think of is that Aerotek never told me that my initial contract would be up after 11 months and I didn't find out until I could enter in my time for that particular week (and I was greeted with a seemingly demanding email to hurry and fill out my weekly time sheet EVEN THOUGH I DIDN'T HAVE ONE). read more

You would expect the atmosphere to be a bit more professional given the nature of the business. I came into this office 2 weeks ago to fill out some paperwork and the receptionist was on a personal call, smacking on pizza and just overall TOO RELAXED. I stayed to fill out my work, but felt very uneasy leaving it with a "professional" that seemed like she had other things going on. I would not return to this location at all. I've been to other staffing agencies where confidentiality was a top priority. This spot was unorganized, rude and very unwelcoming. Save your gas money and find another agency. read more

I was contacted by Victoria Levi and was asked how open I would be to relocating to the East Bay for a position at a company in my field of high tech. She conducted a phone interview with me and we decided to move forward with the opportunity. Victoria handled all the communication between myself and the company, and followed up with me very quickly. The Aerotek paperwork was seamless, and the interview was set up very quickly. Victoria met me at the firm's location and introduced me to her contacts there which included a former Aerotek contract to hire individual who had since been hired by the firm full time. I'm happy to say things went well in the interview and I was hired to begin the contract period of employment. Victoria did a great job of providing information about this company so I could make an intelligent decision at every phase of the process to continue with it or go in another direction. She also did a great job of vetting me in our first interview so the company had as much knowledge about me as possible. This was very good to know, because when I got the call for the interview, I new they had made a decision to bring me in based on a thorough pre-screening, and the interview was a confirmation of all they knew about me and likewise me to them. She was professional at all times, and followed up consistantly throughout the contract period to make sure things were going well and answer any questions I might have. Victoria set me up with their online timecard system and it was very user friendly and saved a lot of time not having to take a timecard to their office. Direct deposit was set up to receive the weekly pay checks and it worked out perfectly. I initially signed up for a position I saw online, I receive a call from a woman named Peggy, telling me how interested she was in my resume/application and she wanted to set up a time to meet and fill out paper work. She told me of a job at Bay Alarm that she thought I would be perfect for. This was all good for me because I was seeking a better paying position and wanted to leave the place I was at the time. She told me she wanted me to just come in for a "face to face" then she would forward my application and resume to Bay Alarm to set up an interview. I'm thinking, it's that easy? I was obviously beyond excited. , I was told my appointment would start at 1:30, but to please come 15 minutes early to fill out some papers. I'm waiting, the receptionist (who was amazing) keeps assuring me that they will be out of their meeting soon, 40 minutes pass , thankfully the receptionist interrupts the "meeting" to let the staff know there is a room full of people waiting to meet with their assigned staffing agent. As we're waiting, a guy asked me what type of job I was interviewing for., I was discreet and didn't tell him to much, however he did tell me he was applying for a job with Bay Alarm and he was coming in to fill out paperwork, in my head I'm like oh, ok they are hiring a whole bunch of people for this call center, so we talked a little more then finally, they start calling people into offices to get the interviews going. I was greeted by Peggy, who was nice. HOWEVER once she saw I was pregnant (6 1/2 months) she kinda rushed through the interview and no longer had that perk in her voice when speaking to me. She then proceeds to tell me they are no longer hiring for the position that she had mentioned on the phone (which I might add, was only a week prior to our interview) and if anything comes up she'll let me know. I left the interview upset, 1. because I knew they WERE hiring for the job but would not proceed further because I was pregnant. Isn't this some form of discrimination? 2. Because she pretty much wasted my time on an "interview" for a job they were no longer hiring for? What!? I had my son prematurely, once I was discharged and feeling better from the birth, I contacted Peggy and let her know I had my son two weeks prior and was ready to go back to work, ALL OF A SUDDEN, they are hiring for the Bay Alarm position again. I ended up emailing Peggy at 4am the day of my interview to let her know I had to take my son to the ER And I would have to reschedule if possible. She got a pissy attitude with me when she called after receiving the email, telling me they were unable to help me seek employment because I made them "look bad" by not coming to the interview. Peggy, you make YOURSELF look bad by discriminating against a pregnant woman seeking employment and also, by being a terrible liar and lying to my face about not hiring anymore when about 12 other people in the room with me were all trying to get hired for the same call center. Isn't there something ETHICALLY WRONG WITH THE SITUATIION? I meet with you almost 7 months pregnant, I let you know I am trying to seek a better paying position (to support my kids!) I call you TWO weeks after giving birth to inform you I am ready to hit the ground running and work, as a "staffing agent" do you not see the determination there? I'm currently in contact with a lawyer to try and resolve the matter, I think AeroTek is misleading, unprofessional, and worse of all discriminating Oh yeah, and I also applied for a medical records clerk position through The Oakland office, I heard they were hiring for this position through some old coworkers I worked with through the county hospital, the guy I spoke with sounded interested, however he had to contact my staffing agent in San Ramon to make sure it was "okay" for him to work with me... I was scheduled for an interview with Alex after being referred here from another Aerotek recruiter that had called me with a job posting. I showed up 10 minutes early as requested to fill out the paperwork, and subsequently waited 45 minutes. No one talked to me or gave me any idea when I'd be seen. I then told the front desk receptionist I had to leave as I had other things to do that day. He said he was sorry and had no idea why everyone was in a meeting or when they would be done. He took down my number (even though it was already written on the form they had me come in 10 minutes early for to fill out). I have never received a call or email apologizing or following up. Sorry my time isn't important enough to warrant an apology. I'm not so desperate so as to want to return and I highly recommend avoiding this office. read more

I was told to "keep waiting" for my interview date til I heard NOTHING. I still got recruiters calling me til a month ago, I told them do not call me, nor will I ever give them a good review. I'm signed up with many staffing agencies. But none of them are able to follow up expectations with an actual assignment like Aerotek. Carly Schaeffer has been diligent in finding me work. The first assignment didn't work out...I suck at telemarketing. But she was able to find me an adequate gig with decent pay. The receptionist was also very accommodating and personable when I went there to fill out paperwork. I'm only giving it 4 stars because its in San Ramon. I too received a call from C.H. and promised a certain salary and that the location would be near public transit because it was a long commute. Took forever with rescheduled interviews and emails that said they were waiting on my start date even though I hadn't interviewed yet. Was offered the position only to find out at contract signing that the rate offered was much lower and public transit was 1/2 hour away from the location by bus. If I had known this before I was offered the job I would not have considered this position. They didn't know how to process my paycheck correctly with the client for months. Once I became unable to work and fulfill my contract due to an injury and C.H. became quite rude. I was told I would never work with any of their agencies again. I was doing a good job and had emails to prove it even though I was in pain. I waited two months before I could no longer make the commute. read more

I had a group interview via Skype with Ryan and advised during this time that my desired working hours were going to have to end prior to 5 p.m. based on child care needs. The hours of my son's child care end at 6, my daughter's after school program ended at 6. I was very clear on this during the interview, during the hiring process and even confirmed upon acceptance of a position. Two weeks into the position I found out that the company would want to work until 7:30. I'm not sure what part of 5 pm was misunderstood. I left a voicemail with the manager of Ryan but didn't hear back from him directly, Ryan called me only to apologize and there was not any kind of compensation or guarantee of unemployment benefits due to this mishap. I wanted to not believe the ratings on here. My recruiter at Aerotek found me an opportunity immediately but the requirements were honestly a little over my qualifications so I ended up not getting the job. The process took a month as I was told through the entire process that things were looking good. Meanwhile I wasn't being put in front of any other employers. After the job fell through I was told that I was a priority being a strong candidate for other positions. It's been over 2 weeks now and have not heard back. My advice, use these guys for extra opportunities but don't rely on them. Best of luck with your job search. read more
