We were charged for multiple move-out items that looked far more like normal wear and tear and basic turnover maintenance than actual tenant damage. Their communication and customer service were equivalent to talking to a brick wall, and to make matters worse, our security deposit check was mailed to the wrong unit number after move-out, which goes to show how much they cared about us as tenants. These people are borderline inept. We also dealt with maintenance concerns during our lease that never felt properly addressed. We literally had fucking mold in our basement for about a quarter of our leasing period. Between the excessive fees, poor communication, and lack of accountability, this was easily one of the worst renting experiences we've had. If you for some brazen reason you decide to rent from them, document EVERYTHING, save every email, and take detailed photos before and after move-in because you may need them later. I would literally live in a sex dungeon before leasing from these people again. There is a reason these people have ended up in court before. Don't hesitate to keep them in check.

From the moment I arrived there, the setup was strange where there's a conjoined round table consisting of all Caucasian women. I came in for my interview on time, but I had to wait until they finished their group discussions about other people that they have interviewed which could have been discussed when I wasn't there. During the hour-long interview, I can't help but notice that this agency is "religion-based" (Evangelical Christian). I am a practicing Catholic, but I felt that we should be focusing more on my skills, professional/educational backgrounds, and potentials. It was so cringy as I felt like I was getting recruited to be a part of a ministry or cult. Also, I felt so uncomfortable getting interviewed while there are several conversations going on in the background. I tried to follow up with two of their associates and I never heard back from them which is a blessing in disguise as I would have not been a good fit and I personally wouldn't be happy in the long run. In all honesty this is not a reputable agency, and the Department of Labor should probably look into their practice. For someone who has a background in Human Resources, in my opinion, an agency should practice fairness and equity and Theophany Staffing missed the mark.
