After shopping we were very hungry so we went in search for a place to have lunch and came across this hole-in-the-wall restaurant. We noticed that the employees spoke Thai among themselves and many signage on the wall are in Thai so we decided to take a gamble and asked for a table for our party of four. Our waiter was pleasant and he can't speak English so we pointed at some items on the menu. He correctly ordered all our dishes and was attentive to make sure our glasses were filled promptly. The dishes were delicious and our favorite was the crab fried rice.

And the operators were Thai! Then again the locality should have given it away. Beachside and inner south. Noi is tucked away in a corner Carpark in Springvale. Was curious bout it's quality due to the crowd hanging outside. Reluctant at first as thoughts of something going down like they do in the movies ran through my head... very strange to have such a crowd in front of a restaurant. Anyway to the food! Had the semi raw prawn Thai salad. Fried fish. Green curry and Thai fried rice. All were amazingly GREAT! best of all the coconut rice served was not like a desert pudding! Oh the only let down was the fish cake. Kinda reminded me of what I could get from Costco.

After trying many Thai restaurants in the area and also further out, we had no luck, until we tried Ghin Thai! The closets thing to our fav Thai restaurant and bonus it is close to home! The food is fresh and fragrant and very tasty! We had the following: - chicken satay skewers - Roti bread (came with a peanut dipping sauce) - Tom Yum fried rice (chicken) - Red Curry (Chicken) - BBQ honey & Soy chicken All this food was so delicious and very tasty. The servings are quite generous and pricing is reasonable good for what you get. You can eat in (it's a small place but quite nice for the area it is in) or you can take away. Service is very friendly. This is definitely our new Thai take out!

A couple dining in that had already been served and a man waiting for his take away order. I was warmly greeted upon arrival but had to wait a few minutes before they brought me a menu, so I went to grab my own. They brought over the lunch menu soon thereafter. I was shocked at the prices. $16 for one dish and rice is extra? This was their lunch special? This included many popular items from pad thai, fried rice, curries, etc. Being quite hungry I ordered the Panang curry and Roti bread with peanut sauce. The server asked if I wanted the bread first and I said yes. However, it didn't come until the curry was ready. Finally my meal had arrived and it was really... delicious! I was so pleased at the spice level and flavour of the curry. The Roti was good too. I was however, surprised that the Panang curry was not exactly as described in the menu. I was looking forward to the eggplant which was replaced with green beans and peas, so they should update their menu or at least let you know when ordering. The meal was good but I just think they could work a little more on their serving times and lower their prices for lunch, considering their location. On the plus side, I had enough leftovers for dinner as well. My advice would be, it is not worth the trip here but if you do live nearby, I suggest you go with the takeaway, which another Yelper said was cheaper.
