Dr. Art Piercy Owner ---------------------------- He flat out refuses to give reasonable rates, graduated in the 70's and feels his "experience" allows him to "price gouge." Keep in mind computers didn't even exist back then. Previous Employee Tells us How it Works --------------------------------------------------------- Art bills each "dentist" a set fee for each procedure they do. Ex: Root Canal, (3 roots/filling) Art gets $1148 for everyone sold and the dentist gets % of what's left over. They charge $1500 PLUS $300 for the filling. Each "dentist" is billed out at full rate, No matter the what country or year graduated. Your Dentist will try to max your Insurance --------------------------------------------------------- Look for a dentist with reasonable rate. Retail price for root canals in Edmonton around $500 and Calgary around $1000. One of art's "special root canals" will cost you $2000 and will max out most insurance plans. Beware of Ranchlands Dental (RD) when they act on your behalf for a dental claim with CDCP. My…read moreclaim was rejected by CDCP and RD advised me of the amount to pay for the procedure and offered a payment plan. I contacted CDCP directly and they immediately told me to have RD resubmit the claim with further details for "fresh eyes" to review my claim. After the resubmission, CDCP accepted my claim! RD never offered to resubmit my claim to CDCP and save me the cost of paying for the procedure myself. At the same time, RD front staff member, Fatemeh, did not provide professional kind service, hung up on me and left me in tears. I ended up leaving RD and having my dental work done at another dental office. Note: all active claims with the CDCP stay with the patient, not the dental office so it was easy to move on to a more caring dental office - one that has well-trained staff and one that takes the upmost care in saving patients money wherever possible.
