Visited here after the Acne sample sale around the corner. I have never had Banh Mi, because I…read morewould always go for pho if I were in a Vietnamese place. So I don't really have any standards on how good a Banh Mi is supposed to be. I had marinated pork banh mi and ginger tea for lunch. I ordered the pork one because it said it has honey in it. I love honey hehe. However, I could not taste any bit of honey in it... I feel like they could be more generous on the amount of meat. I'm a carnivorous eater, and I like to taste a chunk of meat in my mouth. I'll say Banh Mi was average, I wouldn't say it was remarkably amazing. For the ginger tea, the taste of ginger is really stong, so I guess they put a good amount of ginger in it. Again, I expected honey as it said it has honey.. I think it is a good drink in winter or when you're having your period, but I believe you can make this at home. It is a good drink that will keep you warm when you're wandering in the street

Cute little addition to the many many eateries on Elmegade. The shop is clean and well decorated,…read morewith easy to read signs. You can order from one of four sandwich options: the classic pork, a beef, chicken, or tofu sandwich. Then it's made to order while you wait. You can watch the assembly since all the ingredients are lined up behind the counter. The pork sandwich I had was pretty good, but could have been a little more generous with the meat. Bread was crusty on the outside and soft/chewy on the inside, like a baguette is supposed to be. It's a good size for lunch. It's not the best, it won't blow your mind, but it'll satisfy the banh mi craving. There are other banh mi places in Copenhagen, but this one has a convenient location and you can walk to the lake to enjoy your sandwich. I don't think there's seating inside, but there are outdoor benches. They've also got a small display of snacks, and grocery items like vermicelli and vietnamese coffee.

The have very specific culture and gastronomy, connected to (mostly) Orthodox religion. Usually I buy cheese, wine, prshut (cured meat) or sweets there. I especially enjoy buying the Napolitanky- They taste almost like 20 years ago! I was very happy to find this place a few years ago. I'm not sure this is a shop where Danes will regularly go, but before you travel to the Balkans, you should check it out, and educate yourself about food and beverages, so you don't struggle there. You can also rent Balkan DVDs, but if you don't speak a Slavic language, it probably doesn't have much value for you. My rating is high, because there are thousands of ethnic shops, but this one really stuck with a concept, so you can not find anything else there except Slavic products! The service is not the most outgoing and helpful, but this is part of after war syndrome. Hope you enjoy what they have to offer!

The best place to get Balkan specialties (ex - Yugoslavia, Serbia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Croatia,…read moreMacedonia, Montenegro, Slovenia). Asamo has ex-yu: meat products (i.e. dried/smoked meat), wines, beer, strong alcohol (Slijovica / rakija), soft drinks (Cokta), sweets (Plazma) but also an adjacent music store where you can buy dvds. Must go place if you are from ex-yu, and if not jusk ask the staff for help.
