I have been a patient at Aegis my whole sobriety. I have NO idea what those 1 star reviews are talking abt...but How dare any of u insult the Nurses, Staff or Counselors!!! They were there for u at ur lowest.... I reached 7yrs of Sobriety because of Aegis. I wouldn't be a patient this long, if it was how these karen's are talking abt. Yes they have rules just like any Dr's office does & the ONLY rule is to COMMUNICATE if u can't show up. That's it!! Since 2018, I have regularly gotten dosed & counseling at this location. Every Nurse, Staff Member & Counselor has worked with me & understood when I couldn't be there, when I moved, when I relapsed, when i'm sick!!! They constantly remind me that they are here for Me & they are. Bc of Aegis, I have healthy habits & coping tools. I'm almost completely off MAT program. They have been there for me when I lost sobriety, careers, through accidents & the deepest & darkest Depressions. I can't believe how ungrateful some ppl are....I get medication, counseling, friendship, family, understanding & sm support at Aegis. When I had NO ONE...I had the care & support at Aegis. NOBODY treates anyone, anyway for no reason...If ur leaving 1 star Novels here, u know damn well u didn't get ur way or u burned thru the BILLIONS of bridges they provided u!!! Stop Lying! read more

I'm rating this as follows: +1 star for the counseling, -1 star for the nursing staff. -1 star for the doctors. -1 star for the front desk, -1 star for knowledge in dealing with people stricken with addiction. Out of 5 stars for overall, they receive 1 star for the counseling I've received. The front desk (aside from Ed) can be decent, but the one girl looks down upon patients. The doctors, hah. Dr. Radnya is an unhappy little man who takes it out on patients. He doesn't want you to be nice to him, he will be rude in return. He looks down at us as his side gig while he steps on us, and only pays attention to us when he can impose his will and made up rules (that NEVER WORK WITH THE ADDICT MIND!) that guarantee people will leave and go elsewhere, or relapse...sadly. This place used to be crowded, but people have either relapsed because of the way they are treated here, or found a better clinic (which I will do ASAP) and moved on; very smart of them. You do not threaten the addict mind. You do not treat addicts like they are always guilty. We need positive re-enforcement, and shown that we are doing good, and until we find reasons other than this methadone garbage to gain our reason and the will to be humans again. The counselors (the few I've had) do a decent job of being a voice to talk to every few weeks, or weekly, depending on your insurance. The doctors here have no idea of the people they are treating, and do not want to. I grew up with a doctor, and they are an ego off in their own God-Mind. So if you want to feel like you are still a guilty piece of garbage, and you feel the need to keep beating yourself up because the doctor goes back on his word and makes you believe you are wrong for following another doctor's advice, come on over to Aegis. 90%guarantee you will want to go elsewhere, and the other 10% probably do not want to get better, while most of us do. read more

Ohhhhh yes. The front desk staff is typically incompetent. Simple requests and/or favors seem to be either too difficult for them. Math doesn't seem to be anyone's friend. Whether it's about dosing or tapering, payment and insurance, dates and times, or literally anything involving a 1st grade comprehension. Particularly the heavy set, short, Hispanic girl with glasses, who seems to be operating more as a thoughtless drone than helpful human. If you've ever asked an automated messaging system or verbal selection menu, and had it completely misinterpreted your commands, that's this girl almost every time. She seems to be completely void of cognitive ability, which extends to her ability to perform anything outside of the 4 preset commands programmed by "doctor". Not the "the doctor"... like it's his name. Has a slightly perverted ring to it when she says it. Creepy like she's saying "daddy" but saying "doctor" with the same demeanor. Especially when people are suffering or just want to be in and out of this pejorative facility. Then there's the serpent woman manager. This elderly African American woman, seems to be more disconnected and oblivious than anyone. I would have more easily and confidently put the taller Hispanic girl up front in her place or the younger guy at front desk. Hell, the morning dispensing nurse was the most coherent of them all. This manager seemed to be either high herself, or completely void of usable intelligence. Hearing her attempt to explain anything was painful. To look in someone's eyes as they say something completely insane, but with complete arrogance and pride, it's unsettling and sub par expectation. She seems to be of special needs or perhaps is fading in her old age. Maybe her hearing is going and she's too proud to accept it? For whatever reason, you can speak clearly and logically to this woman, and get zero compliance or effort to understand or listen. As much as I'd love to tell each story, I don't have the time. Every single visit to we met with this difficultly. I stayed at this facility for one person named Blanca. She was amazing and friendly. Efficient and kind. She is no longer at Wilmington, and has left behind a shit show. I've heard the same from others, and assumed they were run of the mill junkies complaining about something irrelevant. But this might just be what they're counting on. I had multiple surgeries that ended up becoming a marathon of pain meds, which led me here. I am not a junky or incompetent. I've also been to other clinics from Texas to Hawaii and all over, without even the slightest condescension from staff. This clinic has also told my NEW clinic, they wouldn't give them my records which is illegal. Claiming that because I have a remaining balance of $500 which started at $2400 due to an insurance company scamming me with fake insurance. And so after paying and paying which was another issue with them, and after moving and leaving this horrible place, they said they couldn't send my dose records because I had a balance. Whoever reads this, please take the time to research if that's legal. It's not. You can't legally hold medical records because a balance is owed. $500 or a million. My new clinic said they were awful and rude to them during the course of this request. Took my new clinic 6 weeks to get them from them. Only after going around them somehow. They said I should report them so they don't treat others this way. Not even my words. They are cruel and greedy. I've never seen such lack of compassion, integrity, or intelligence, from a DOCTORS office. I should have left for ANYWHERE else but didn't. The new office is def cleaner than the last. But the staff is loaded with bad apples. Makes every trip there a miserable experience. I would give it a negative star rating if possible. This recovery process is a difficult one at times and can take a long time. This is NOT a place that will make you feel supported and helped. You'll feel like a criminal who's broken the law coming here. I'm sure there are court ordered people, but I'm not one of them. You will instantly feel like a degenerate convict here the way they treat you. This is not an overreaction. If you do go here, you will regret it. Trying to warn you. Even if you do everything right, follow the legitimate rules, they will find some made up rule to berate you about. I thought others who said it were just complaining. Everywhere else I've been, they've seemed warm and caring. This place is none of that. Find ANYWHERE else to go. If you're reading this, it's a fair warning. read more

If I could i would give this place less than a star. The professionalism in this place they have none at all. I've never experienced such rudeness in all my life. Nor have I experienced racism until I started going to this clinic. God forbid you be black or of pale complexion cause if you are they ignore the fuck out of you. The ladies up front are very selective with who they talk to if your not Spanish they gives no fucks. I have witnessed this several times I have watched an elderly lady go up to the window ask a question only to be ignored while the receptionist proceeds to start talking to an individual of Spanish ethnicity and completely ignore the woman who initially asked a question. For all of you that are not aware this is a trillion dollar industry TBH I feel like the people here don't care the dr doesn't make the decisions here the manager and owner does tell me how ass backwards that is? I moved to Orange County to get away from all the nonsense in Los Angeles and Long Beach. I had a serious car problem which I notified the clinic about because I was unable to make the 30min drive. Because of this they took away my take homes for not showing up. Instead of trying to help me fix the problem for example find a closer clinic help me get set up on transportation they simply refused to help they wouldn't even help me come up with a better plan. This place don't care about anyone the staff is rude very rude I honestly believe they are just doing it to get paid. I don't think they are there to actually help people because when I needed help they refused to lift a finger. onlThis is the first clinic I've ever been too that will take away your take homes because of an emergency. I spoke with the front they told me I had to see the dr to get them back. The dr said he was going to talk to the manager and the front he had me go back to the front only to have me wait two hours the dr take off and to be told they were taking my take homes needless to say this is no way shape or form is fun what's a person to do when the people we live around only sees us as a dollar sign nothing more nothing less? During a crisis that crippled our economy and emphasized our country's shortcomings in disaster preparedness, we have a so-called "treatment center" that did it's very best to ensure that some of our most vulnerable covid-19 candidates, homeless , many with severe mobility and health issues, had to further expose themselves if a dosing nurse was feeling vindictive, on some frivolous rule violation( made up as they go along) and are accountable to no one or nothing, it seems. There's absolutely no oversight. I myself caught the manager in a lie, and her answer was case closed. Accountability,? Bullshit. But no one gives a rats pink ass about a bunch of struggling ex-junkies, we'll never have an advocate who's gonna speak for us, it's politically like playing ping pong with plutonium. This place is one of the worst clinics. They single people out ,playing favorites and if they dont like u they will make up reasons to lower your meds and detox u or make u wait for an hour to get dosed. Extremely unprofessional. I only see a counselor 1 x a month because they costantly quit,this place is strictly about money not sobriety. read more

This company is corrupted even the doctor is as well he should be investigated. Although the methadone is a good medication to get you of opioids but I've been going to aegis for half of year now and I'm off pills now and I do all my phone interviews and I always test clean so I see no reason to get hooked on methadone because they say it's a real hard drug to get off so I try to go every 2 days but they have a problem with that they want us to go every day so they can make their money I moved about 45 minutes away and I spend 10$ every trip their and I explained it to them every month is like over 300$ and I work the overnight shift and they refuse to work with me on take homes they says they give us 1 take home every 3 months if you test clean and do all what your told and I've done it all so for 12 takes homes witch is the max the can give it's gonna take years to get that lol I've earned 2 take homes and they just took 1 away because they try to force me to go in every day and take my methadone when I don't need it every day they just see their patients as $ signs the doctor cares less about helping you out and more about giving you the highest dose and making you get hooked Aegis sees a person with a addiction problem that's needs help they try to take advantage of the person by getting them hooked on methadone even tho your clean for almost a year now they want you to show up everyday and make their money. I have been a patient for about 6 months and for the most part it's been a positive experience. It's very convenient because there's rarely any line or wait to get your dose unless you come during the before work rush around 6-7am and right before closing at 6pm. They are open all day during the week which is great too, I've been to clinics back in Denver that only stayed open a few hours in the morning and always had a line of at least 200 people so it took hours everyday to dose. The staff here are always very friendly and supportive, especially counselor, Lesby. She is fantastic because she has had endless patience with me, is always completely professional yet connects with me in a personal enough way that I feel able to open up to her. . Dr. Harris is also extremely supportive and very friendly, he's always understanding and kind and has never shown any judgement about my addiction. I think all the staff care about the patients, they all learn your name and face from day one so you don't ever feel like just a number to them, and I think they want us to all succeed. That being said there are a few things I think they could work on. Firstly I think the counselors should try to all have a more consistent approach to their patients, my boyfriend is also a patient and his counselor does not seem to show nearly as much interest in him and his problems as mine does, for example, she rarely tries to talk about anything deep with him in their sessions and seems content to just burn all the time with trivial things like scheduling the next appointment when he has told me that it frustrates him she's not trying to actually really "counsel" him but he doesn't know how to initiate talking about anything serious. Also, I had a severe nerve issue (extreme sciatica that I developed for several months after getting a epidural, it was horrifying) when I first came and although they tried to help me out by bringing my doses to the waiting room for me so I wouldn't have to walk agonizingly to the dosing counter in back most the time I think they could have done more to be prepared for someone with mobility issues from day one, where they kept making me walk back and forth all over the office despite the fact I could barely walk, they couldn't just bring the paperwork to me they kept making me walk all the way to the back just to sign something I could have signed up front and it was hours of this back and forth and it was very painful. I also strongly disagree with their decision to require us to come by 5pm to dose if we have had issues making our appts because it ended up leading my bf to relapse because he couldn't get off work in time to make it to the clinic by 5pm, and although they are open til 6pm they refused to dose him several days in a row for being past 5 until it had been 3 whole days with no dose and when they finally did they made him restart at 10mg so he was in extreme withdrawal and I don't thing that was necessary at all. You should also schedule phone appts early in the day because they don't let you take your dose til after your appt on days that you have a session. I think it's really convenient that they allow you to do all your appointments over the phone. read more
