I have been a huge advocate for therapy and have been going for over 15 years. This is the first…read moretime I have ever felt obligated to write a review about one. I started with Jennifer recently in looks for an EMDR specialized therapist that took my insurance. Her website was very enticing and seemed to be a good fit with how she advertised herself. I began using her services and quickly I found out she was not a good fit. I wanted to give her some time to see if the rapport would build. I am someone who does not have a set schedule and she highly pushed for a weekly appointment. I also work with another therapist who does not take my insurance but absolutely have seen improvement and help with that one, so I was dividing time between the two of them. I am also in the travel industry and do NOT have a set schedule so my schedule changes weekly; some weeks are busier than others. I told her weekly would not work with me, and bi weekly would be best. She canceled the next appointment and I would continue with the following week. The following week ended up I needed to travel and needed to cancel that appointment as well. She makes you sign a cancellation policy which states cancellations you pay out of pocket, which is standard if you are cancelling 24 hours or less. I canceled my appointment 3 days prior with ample time within policy guidelines. I immediately got an email for rescheduling and I stated I would not be able to reschedule due to overloaded schedule. She then proceeded to tell me that since I cancelled I would have to pay out of pocket 140$ since she gave me a "free bee" cancellation already. Again she did not, that is when I told her I was switching to bi weekly because I did not want to continue weekly with her. I truly believe she is in this profession for self gain and not to truly help others. In 15 years I have never had such an absurd canceling process like it is a blood oath to go to a therapist that you reach out to for help. Do yourself a favor, unless you want to be burdened and bound to this therapist. Seek someone who truly wants to help and not find a way to take your money at any means possible. If you are seeking someone's services, you shouldn't be forced to. If you seek a hair stylist and you cancel an appointment within respectable amount of time, do they force you to go and get their services? No. I felt like I was in another forceful trapped relationship with my therapist. It's a NO for me.

I participated in every single group and never missed a single day. during my stay someone relasped on meth and was allowed back into the program. I was let go after crying and begging to stay for hitting my weed vape pen , admitting it and promising I would stop bc I needed this accountability . They refused and asked me to leave . I want everyone to know I left and went to a place called Totality . That continues to work with me and every single client to ensure they can stay and work on themselves. I also recently saw a client that relapsed back at clear again . I have been sober ever since , and that is because of leaving clear and finding a place that is welcome to all addicts and alcoholics with open arms . I'll always remember how I felt more attunement, compassion, and understanding in the first handshake I had upon meeting Erika than during the whole 10 sessions I had with the previous therapist. Erika is nonjudgmental, genuine, caring, professional but so down to earth, observant, and experienced. The only reason why I stopped therapy was because I had to move out of state. I highly highly recommend her whether it's your first time in therapy or you're struggling with something that you're sure nobody would understand. You won't regret it!
