Another of those super interesting hidden mansions that not many know about unless they have been…read moreat some sort of party, wedding, or going to school...there! Yes, school, because the building is also a catholic private only girls school with their sports facilities (swimming pool, etc) in campus. The mansion is Tudor style from 1910, if someone had shown me a picture and not tell about the location I would have think it was somewhere in the United Kingdom and someone was waiting for me to get a tea time! The doors were fully open when we visited on Saturday. I did not go there for any particular reason, just browsing 'interesting places nearby' and boom! fantastic surprised. A wedding was taking place at 5 pm and the staff doing flower arrangements and organizing the venue for the attendees let me browse and check everything. Not my type of venue for a wedding as I got more the 'spooky house' feeling from it, but definitively for some classic concert (I read they do that) and costume parties, etc. The gardens are not huge but really nicely tended and there is a labyrinth and roses of several types. A virgin Mary statue give a 'convent-esque' allure to the garden. You can also see the airplanes flying towards the airport and a view of the bay from far away. Very peaceful place. Need to read what happened to the Kohls...they only lived there for 2 years.

My male colleagues were in agony while waiting. Main area is spacious. Has a very antique feel. Don't think it be a great place for joyous occasions as this place has a deep violent history and dark atmosphere for night events.

Taste Catering and Event Planning - Taste test: dessert bar

I warned him ahead of time that there would be many voices from our family offering their opinions left and right; well Chris handled all that like a pro! He didn't forget what the wedding couple wanted. He didn't let our family members steamroll over him. Come wedding day, I was hiding in a room somewhere w my husband away from the crowd and Chris secretly fed us signature cocktails and hors d'oeuvres. During reception, he had plates assembled for us so that we wouldn't go hungry. At the end of the night, his team packed us food to go!! Chris and his designer shoes were a godsend. The Chef too was absolutely amazing and gracious with the multiple changes our family made to the menu. Groom and I wanted an elevated Asian fusion menu that went beyond stereotypical panda express type of affair. We not only wanted to incorporate Chinese, Vietnamese, Burmese cuisines, we also threw in vegan, vegetarian, and rare spices that had to be procured from certain vendors. This, for a party of almost 300 people. Yes, we were THAT annoying. But Chris and Chef never gave up on us. We had 2 tastings including dessert/cake. I was so impressed with the tasting experience I thought, "what could top this??" Then on actual wedding day, to see all the incredible food assembled so beautifully for our guests, I was blown away. Food is one of those things people remember weddings by. It can make or break your guest experience. Give too little food and your guest will end up ordering take out to your venue to embarrass you (yes, I know of a wedding where that actually happened). Give older Asian family members mediocre food and they'll never let you live it down. I had countless guests come to me excitedly talking about how incredible the cocktail hour and reception dinner was. Nobody went hungry. Late night bites were also a hit! And can I just say, I have one of the most beautiful wedding cakes I've ever seen. Will be recommending this thoughtful company to everyone I know!

I have been planning events for years and I have worked with so many talented caterers, but Taste practically did my job for me. They were a one stop shop for food, entertainment, and decorations. They got all my rentals and flowers. They hired a band for my event. When i added two more hours to the party and two more bars they easily accommodated. Christopher, who I worked with is amazing, responsive, and worked with the parameters of my budget. I could not have pulled off this event without them. Their staff was professional and had everything setup and ready to go so quickly. The food was great and beautifully setup. I hope to work with them for many events in the future and I would recommend them to anyone!

Only problem was, the playground was closed for renovations. Nicole and her team didn't let us know that the playground was closed although they arrived on-site 2 hours earlier. When I arrived, I had to scramble with the team to move the setup to the park next-door. Everything was OK at the end and even some of our guests offered help. One of the main reason we book with Nicole is that when things go wrong, I'd like her to step up and resolve them. But instead, she CHARGED US $300 for moving to the next playground. Wow, we were expecting apology, not a $300 bill. Even if you are a repeating and happy client of Nicole (like us), I advise you to start looking for more professional services with other organizers. We appreciate the many events she helped us until she dropped the ball completely and insulted us by charging us extra afterwards. -- Nicole responded by saying that they couldn't have foresaw that the playground was closed. This is false as her team showed me that they sent Nicole messages and videos of playground being closed before they setup anything. They could have communicated this with us earlier and moved to This is beyond surprising on how Nicole handles unexpected cases. Instead of trying to prove she is right, it would have been easier to say "shit happens" and make it right... Very surprising and weak response.

Lindsay and her team did an amazing job and were more accommodating than we could have ever imagined. From the planning to reception to the dinner was perfect! We'd strongly recommend this venue. We are especially grateful to Megan and I'm so thankful for her patience with me :) We chose the elite package which included top shelf liquor, a carving station, and the option of buffet or plated dinner for a surprisingly affordable cost. It also included the wedding cake, sparkler exit, DJ, fresh centerpieces with the flexibility to remove or add vendors. Everyone raved about the food and the drinks were flowing! Our bartenders and servers were all so friendly and helpful. The ceremony site is absolutely breathtaking. So many of our guests said it was the best wedding they'd ever attended. I highly recommend a day of wedding coordinator since Fairview does not provide one for their reception. Feel free to message me if you need a referral to our coordinator, Jennie Doan with Love Live Bloom. She was a superhero!

We did the ceremony outside with the beautiful water fountain as our backdrop and the weather was perfect (especially since we both lived in Daly City at the time -fog central). It has floor-to-ceiling glass windows/walls that provide great views of the bay and blue sky above. Our guest list was pretty small, so we had tons of extra room, but the set-up staff made it work really well, filling the space with extra bar tables and couches with coffee tables to provide a variety of areas for mingling and lounging. Between the patio, the main dining area, the dance floor, and the bar/lounge areas, our guests had tons of space and options, and they used it all. We had our ceremony here, too. The fountain provided a very nice backdrop, and the balcony allowed our photographer to get some neat shots of the ceremony and all our guests from above. We were lucky to have pretty much perfect weather on our big day, and our guests couldn't stop talking about the view. They loved taking pictures on the patio with the bay and blue sky behind them. Both prior to and on the big day, Allison was great to work with. She was easily accessible via email, quickly answered any and all questions, and was very friendly and accommodating. On the day itself, the setup and catering/bar staff members were great, too. They were efficient, friendly, and helpful. We were very pleasantly surprised with the quality of the food, both at the tasting and on the wedding day. Many of our guests shared how much they enjoyed the meal - especially the ice cream sundae bar! On the booze front, we provided the alcohol and mixers for the bar, which likely saved a lot of money; the corkage fees were very reasonable and the bar staff were friendly and kept the drinks flowing. Overall, CSM and Pacific Dining were a great choice for us. Having our wedding at a college felt a little unorthodox at first, but it suited us so well. The space was excellent, the rates were very reasonable, the food was great, and the staff was friendly and helpful. We had a fabulous day, and if we had to do it over again, we wouldn't change a thing.
