One family said they also called to check and were not told this information. It's really important to be transparent with your customers.

I communicated that clearly when her team reached out and also shared that I intended to return next year. At that point, I was explicitly told I would be **deleted from the system** and treated as a new client because I did not file with them this year, despite a 6 year client relationship. That included being placed on a waitlist, paying significantly higher fees, and no longer working with Kristina directly, but instead being reassigned to someone else on her team. I spoke with Kristina directly to better understand the decision, and she confirmed this is now standard policy. What made this particularly frustrating is that this is not a large corporate structure where policies are fixed or inflexible. This is her business, and these are policies that have been recently introduced and are fully within her control. Applying them this rigidly, without any consideration for a long-standing client relationship, felt unnecessary and reduced a long-term client relationship to a transaction. After 6 years of consistent business, being effectively reset after one year of not needing services is difficult to justify from a client perspective. This ultimately reflects poor relationship management. I would strongly recommend clarifying continuity expectations in advance, as prior client history ultimately carries no weight under this model.

We had an intro call with Sandy who assured us she could help with our situation. We then decided to take the next step and provided all of our documents within their portal on March 3rd. After submitting we heard nothing back from them for weeks and so we called towards the end of the month to check in. When we did this they only then started asking us for additional documents and wanted us to reformat all profits and losses within their specific document formats despite us already providing these 4 weeks prior in our own format. We asked them if they could just use our existing documents and they said that would be an additional bookkeeper service of $300. At this point we were very frustrated that they took an entire month to tell us all of this after we submitted initial documents. We ended up filing with an alternative.

Morris is excellent, I've been working with them for 5years on both my personal taxes and my business taxes. My business is an LLC partnership and my personal is all 1099 freelance filing. He was incredibly responsive over email and detailed in outlining the benefits he provides to clients. I love that he has a secured file portal to keep all sensitive documents private and offers quarterly calls after tax filing is complete throughout the calendar year (this is included in the flat rate for filing). He not only helped me with my taxes, he also flagged that I needed past returns amended for minor corrections and laid out the options for me so I could make the most informed decision. He said that he could reconstruct the returns for a larger, additional fee - but that he recommended that I reach out to my previous tax preparer to amend the returns as that would be more practical and at a much lower (or potentially no cost). As a bonus, he even offered to be on the email thread to help clarify if they had any tax related questions while completing the amendments - which was incredibly kind and helpful :) I really appreciate that he presented me with options and helped make sure I had the most information before proceeding - looking forward to continuing to work with him for my tax needs!

Then on 8pm on Tax Filing day itself, he texted that it would be late at night that he finished, then he texted saying he didn't finish and would file for an extension. Strike 1. Then I had to follow up April 20 since I hadn't heard anything and then over the next 2-3 weeks it was back and forth of reviewing his draft submissions and there was constantly inaccurate information, missing information, and overall poor attention to detail (he even missed including my 3 children as dependents). I was QCing accounting mistakes of my own CPA! Strike 2. I had to keep revising his drafts because his initially had us owing over 5-figures which was more than last year. I had to remind him then of how to approach the tax strategies that our family put in place. What I am even paying you for?! Strike 3. Then I had to still follow up with him when the final submission was going to be submitted (over a month late) and only then did he actual submit it, but I never even got a copy of the submitted paperwork (still waiting for it). Strike 4/5/6/ Needs to be thrown out of the game. I don't recommend at all and it's unfortunate since he seemed to do well with others, but not with us. Maybe he couldn't handle the complexity of our W2s and investments but never will I work with him again.
