We love Jellystone parks and have stayed at several. This one is really something else. We had a…read moregood shady site and loved having a cement pad and patio. There were lots of activities that my teenage kids took part in. The hubs and I also took part in a couple activities. We tend to keep to ourselves and I think that is what saved us from this place. It is so large and there are so many people in this place that the staff really has to crack down on non-paying customers. So much so that we saw a fight break out between staff and a family whose kid either lost or wasn't wearing his wristband. They were paid campers and it got to a level that it shouldn't have gotten to. I later read other reviews complaining of the the way the staff handles such situations, even when it is small children involved. The chaos level goes from 0 to completely bonkers in just a few seconds. There are A LOT of golf carts. Many are suped up and the owners insist on blaring their awful music as they roll through the grounds all hours of the day. That isn't management's fault, just an observation of the kind of people who stay there. I didn't go to the pool but my kids did. They said it was dirty and there was all kinds of stuff floating in the water. They probably could have made sweet bank selling black market wristbands with all the ones they found in the pool. The bathhouse. Oh lordt. Many, many campgrounds half the size of that one clean their restrooms and showers 2 times a day. This place should definitely start doing that, especially since the floors pool water from the showers. Shower shoes are not enough. Waders would be better. The laundry rooms need help, too. 3 washers and 3 dryers in the one near the front of the campgrounds. Out of order signs on 1 w and 1 d. I watched a woman try to put quarters in one of the "working" dryers and the slot looked bent and unless she jammed the quarter in, it wouldn't go. Then, when she decided that wasn't normal and didn't want to try her luck, it wouldn't give her money back when she pushed the coin return button. That's when I decided I don't mind doing a couple extra loads of laundry when I got home a couple days later. Oh... and no change machine. I walked up to the ranger station for quarters and the guy was a little bewildered when I asked for $3 in quarters. My family had a good time but I seriously doubt we will be back. I would only recommend staying there to friends who I know have strong ties to and are exceptionally comfortable with the redneck, diehard tailgating, and rebel rousing communities.

And this location is no different. In mid-September, I had a two week assignment in Hammond, LA. While there were other hotel options that caught my eye, I knew Home2Suites would have what I'm looking for: spotless rooms with a comfortable bed, a mini-kitchen area, great breakfast, large exercise room, and a modern/snazzy lobby area with plenty of space and electronic sockets. That's exactly what you get here. Plus the room also has a large comfortable couch where you can plop down in when you're exhausted. The staff is uber friendly and they cleaned my room every day. I'm hoping I get more assignments in Hammond just so I can stay here again!

The rooms are pretty big and cute, with a mini kitchen (good sized fridge, microwave, sink) and working areas, and the included breakfast here was far far far better than anticipated! On the day I went, you can literally make yourself chicken and waffles! They had Arby's style potato cakes (could be crispier, but splitting hairs) that I prefer much more over those lame breakfast potato cubes, slices of cheese if you wanted to make yourself a sausage and cheese (biscuit) sandwich, cheddar egg bites, and tasty yogurt! And the sauces, Nashville hot sauce, yes please! Also they do have 2 EV charging spots through Blink, which is helpful. Would recommend!

We then noticed there was only 1 person handling complaints, front desk check ins, plus phone calls. After getting 2 rooms. Room 1 did not have linen, open food in a drawer, a USED DIAPER in another drawer, and a filthy mirror in the bathroom. It took 30 minutes of waiting at the front desk to get linen. After this wait we noticed we still needed pillow cases. In the second room it was missing a shower curtain. There is a reason this place had vacancy when other places were booked. This place was awful. We will not be back.

However, if you value your safety, I highly recommend you do not stay at La Quinta in Hammond Louisiana. I was greeted by the fresh smell of weed as I arrived. I was immediately grossed out, but wish that's all that happened while I was there. The bathroom, which I'm pretty sure supplied used toiletries, had mold around the bathtub. The curtain was filthy. The fluorescent lights made me feel like I was in a factory. While the surrounding areas had clean cut grass, the hotel itself had at least a foot of grass...possibly to hide the broken glass that was all around ... not to mention, the human feces. We felt very unsafe both because it was quite evident that there were attempted break-ins on all the doors... And then there was the drug deal that happened next door, in the parking lot and the stairwell. That one was fun. The dirty ice machine, and caution tape that had fallen into the dark green pool gave me the feeling of wanting to douse myself in antibacterial solution. We did our best this morning to pack the car up and get our fourteen-year-old out of there- while keeping our eyes down so as not to disrupt any drug dealings. La Quinta, either get yourself together and clean this place up, or add a disclaimer to your business listing at this location so that unsuspecting families don't walk into this death trap.

It took me a few days to figure out that I like this place. I thoroughly dislike the tacky…read more"Disneyesque" Margaritaville campgrounds popping up, and I feared this might be similar. But at the end of the day the only real problem was a group of local 40-somethings on TRT with their 3 pit bulls who were camping together in a group of 6. They basically hung out all day in lawn chairs getting hammered in the driveway section of their site (directly across from our site) basically just being d**ks. (there needs to be some sort of rule about pit bull kennels operating in a campsite)... But after they left, this RV campground became more calm and worth exploring and enjoying. There is a small lazy river, a large pool and a poolside bar. There is also a decent workout room available 24/7. The lakeside location of several camp sites was the draw for us, as was the evening entertainment while enjoying a few drinks. The campsites are all immaculate full hookup with excellent concrete pads. There are both back in and pull-throughs to accommodate most size rigs. It's only about an hour to New Orleans, so a sight-seeing trip there is easy to do. Very convenient to the I-10. Glad we stayed and we'd likely stay again when passing through.

The staff was very nice but not super informative (failed to give adequate info at check-in) or knowledgeable about the area (we needed an RV part and they weren't helpful even though there was two large RV stores very nearby). Our campsite was concrete with a patio, not level side to side. It rained quite a bit while we were there and there was a literal swamp completely surrounding our site. You couldn't get to the basement on the side or to the hookups without standing in water. The roads were fairly easy to navigate but many people parked out in the road which made it difficult to maneuver in the RV when leaving.

You travel through a very sketchy, sus neighborhood to reach the "villa," but once you arrive, the golf course and plantation area appear to be decent. Check-in was more like an Airbnb situation. No one was working the registration desk. You called a staff member on their cell phone, and they give you a code and tell you where to go. I prepaid for my room. My ID was never checked or credit card presented. The lady who met me at the "villa" was abrupt and not very welcoming or pleasant. I reserved "Villa" 3, but was assigned "Villa" 8. The "villa" adjacent to ours looked abandoned. It was dark, and the grass was at least a foot high. When we walked into the room, it was like one of those Temu videos... what I paid for versus what I got. The room, I'm sorry, the "Villa" literally only had 2 full-size beds and an old, cheap, black mesh desk chair in the corner with unknown white stains all over it. Needless to say, we steered far away from THAT thing. Unlike what they show you on the website, nice plush sofa and chairs, wooden benches at the end of the beds, a kitchen area, a desk... there was NO other furniture in the room. The room was also not clean. The bathroom had hair all over the floor, and the floor of the shower had a huge brown stain. There were dead spiders all over the room. It appeared that the room was hardly, if at all, cleaned. We were only staying overnight and leaving very early the next morning, so we toughed it out. Sooo, I paid for a queen room in "villa" 3 and was given 2 full beds in "villa" 8. The other amenities they claim to have, but don't...
