However: We got to New Orleans in the middle of a heat advisory. It was REALLY hot. We don't have A/C in our vehicle but are prepared to manage it...and we did. Lots of ice, fans, and we spent a lot of time during the day inside venues. The swimming pool at this place was HOT. Like, 95 degrees hot. I suppose, aside from actively cooling it, there's not much they can do about this, but I also know that N.O. is prone to being hot like this so I wouldn't expect the pool to be much of a perk. Having 24/7 ice machine was great. We definitely used that. There was a very nice australian couple at the spot next to us that we struck up a conversation with on our first night. They had a rental RV and the A/C was broken so they were struggling like we were and we had a good laugh about that. The next day, we came back and the gentleman came over and told me that the people that run the RV park had refused to let him put some water bottles in the freezer and that they had called the police on him so I shouldn't be alarmed if the police showed up. Sure enough the police came and the nice couple was trespassed off the property....because they had tried to put some water bottles in the freezer inside. They were not offered a refund. The officers were nice enough but....this seemed like a total dick move on the part of management. Everyone was VERY hot...like...flex a little, you know? You've also read other reviews so you know that they're right by the freeway. We knew this and were prepared. HOWEVER- there is also a SHRIMP PROCESSING PLANT on one side...right over the wall from our spot...and let me tell you, during a HEAT ADVISORY the last place you want to be is next to a SHRIMP PROCESSING PLANT. It smelled like low-tide and death. It was horrible. Also, the trucks began showing up at about 5:30 to load up on, presumably, shrimp. The workers were yelling at each other and revving their cars. We were woken by it most mornings. The place is for sale. There are signs up in every parking spot announcing that it's for sale. While the location is clean...they don't really seem to care much for the customers...like maybe they're already checked out? Another odd thing: the first morning that we were there (we got there Friday night so I'm talking Saturday morning) their grounds crew started mowing the lawn at 7am. Mowing and using the weed whacker right at our spot. There was no sleeping. They were literally mowing around our trailer. A foot away from my head. The next day, Sunday, after the nice australian couple had vacated their spot, there was a guy there weed-whacking that spot. Very early in the morning. So- we were woken early every morning by unneccesary noise and shrimpy fish stank. Short story: This place is super expensive. If we were in an RV we might have been happier, but...they are not going out of their way to help anyone in need, and in fact are making decisions that are not in the best interests of their guests. If you do something they don't like, for whaterver reason, they'll just boot your ass off the property and use NOPD to do it. I don't think I'd go back, but if you're looking for a spot close-ish to Bourbon Street and are in a sound-proof RV, it might not be so bad.

It's a peaceful space where families come to gather for birthdays, holidays or just because. Sunsets here are unmatched. I love coming to the fly with lunch or a snowball. Watching the river barges float by is an underrated pastime.

It's a beautiful…read moregreen space filled with massive live oaks, lagoons, and shaded walking paths, but it also has a lot of attractions-the Audubon Zoo, the Butterfly Garden and Insectarium, an 18-hole golf course, fountains, playgrounds, and plenty of open lawns to relax on. It feels less like a city park and more like a destination where you could easily spend an entire afternoon. Audubon Park strikes a great balance between being an active public space and a peaceful escape from the city.

I asked it to walk around so I can take pictures and I do not know if it understood but it struck a few poses before it hopped back in the water then flew to a shaded area across the lagoon. Be carful not to park in the parking lot near the golf clubhouse. If you prefer the scenic view from the city, hop on the St. Charles streetcar. Get off at the Tulane/Loyola stop and you will be at the front entrance.

I can come to class with cat hair on my yoga pants and not feel like i'm being judged. Which in my life working from home, this is a priority. There are multiple different class times and locations to choose from every week day. You don't have to sign up yearly and can go month-to-month which was a big bonus to me since i work seasonally out of state for a few months of the year. You will work harder and push yourself more than you ever could on your own because you are surrounded by women that are not going to quit. That means you can't quit. Chelsey and Shane make sure to walk you through the new exercises and they look out for you and your form. If you have a preexisting injury, they will help choose alternate exercises for you. I've always been more of a runner/pilates type person and crossfit dream baes intimidated and slightly confused me. But here i am friggin' jumpin' rope, doing burpees, whirling kettlebells around and am now bringing in all my groceries in one trip because i'm getting STRONGER. These classes are so worth it. I just walked on the outskirts of this enormous park. On my way to the New Orleans Museum of Art, I walked on the sidewalk. I really enjoyed the large, old canopy of trees that line both sides of the sidewalk. On my way to and from the museum, I saw so many varieties of birds and groups of squirrels. The squirrels were frolicking and playing, chasing one another. The ducks were just hanging out, but there were other varieties of birds that were searching for and dining on earthworms, after the rain had brought them up to the surface. Lots of space and green grass. It's a beautiful park to visit and enjoy nature. No need to drive. You can take the trolly here, as I did.

There are folks of all shapes, sizes, abilities, and fitness goals in the classes so you shouldn't feel shy. Joe and Natalie are awesome trainers. I do personal training with Natalie Saturday mornings and I do 2-3 50 minute boot camp classes with Joe per week. Boot camp classes consist of exercises with a box, mat, free weights, kettle bells, resistance bands, Bosu balls, gliders, and medicine balls. Each class is different. The building is a warehouse with astroturf and a separate studio area with mirrors.
