wont be back again. hunted three days, no hog sightings until the guide(billy) pulled us out of our stands for hogs that were "spotted" with two hunters, no monitoring of baits to ensure we were on pigs, just throwing a bucket of peanuts down randomly, some spots almost 300 yards away from the stand. second day guide showed up smelling of booze and didnt get put into stands till a good 30 minutes after daylight on a stand that had ZERO bait on it and proceeded to put me there again. The accommodations and food are great but the hunting and guides strategy is sub par. ive hunted heavily hunted public land in maryland for sika deer and had chances at stags everytime, shouldmt be that hard on private property to shoot a hog that's supposed to be baited. The worst part of it was on the second evening he called my buddy and i to put us on hogs that were spotted. He comes and picks us up and in the back of his suv is a lasso. When we get to where these hogs were "spotted" his buddy was there with another truck with a dog box in it, mind you this dog box was in another truck the day before. We put on a stalk if you can call it that, walking right at the hogs wind blowing right to them, got within 15 yards. Everything ive read is that hogs are extremely spooky. There is a pen of hogs at the house where they had us stay, we thought the hogs were coming from there since there is no population on the property. The head guide even told us that they take pigs out of the pen for kids to shoot and to replenish what's supposedly killed hunting, which is completely illegal by itself! We left early because we couldnt stand what we thought went down. So my buddy brad whos review you can read as well called the owner Ashley and he admitted that what we thought had happened was true. The property doesnt have any hogs and they release them from the pen so customers are successful. This is where the whole situation takes a turn. Brad and i wrote some reviews on the place to try to warn people of this scam they are running and sent them a letter from my attorney to try to get our money back since we were lied to about the hunt, we were told it was a wild pig hunt not a canned hunt. The owner now denied everything and lied about the tip we gave to the guide. We did leave 100 each as we just wanted to leave. Couple weeks later we notice another review that went down just like ours, in this time he started having friends and family leave positive reviews i guess to counteract the bad ones left. Brad opened up a better business bureau review. Well this must have gotten his attention. He then proceeded to deny everything he admitted on the phone to brad not surprising though really. This is the part that really angers me he makes up a lie that we did this to an outfitter in South Carolina. Well for one ive never even hunted in South Carolina. Ive never hunted outside Pennsylvania and Maryland till we went hunting with this scam of an outfitter. Brad had hunted in South Carolina in 2005. He had a great time, harvested a hog left them a positive review as well. I didnt even know brad in 2005, i lived in Florida then and was 13 years old so how could we have done that then. After this was pointed out to him, he promptly called myself then brad. I didnt talk to him as i missed the call as i was working, but brad talked to him. He completely denied releasing hogs, but said he cant control what his guides do, and that apparently the head guide Billy read us long. Apparently its our fault for wanting a wild pig hunt not one with released hogs. He said if we took our reviews down he would refund us our money, that was 7/13. Hes been supposedly sending a check for two weeks now to brad and refunding my credit card. When I texted him about it today (7/29) he said he was gonna do it today. Here we are three days later no refund or check to brad. Avoid this place at all costs. read more
