He was going to go to San Diego High, but it felt big and impersonal. My son is smart and i felt like he was going to just cruise by without any challenge or any accolades. We toured SET and my son was so excited. I love that each class is small. I love McCurdy, Ms Heath and all the other teachers. Ms. Geis is such a rad human! My Daughter is the opposite of my son.... She is into dance and theatre, but after seeing how awesome SET was, we enrolled my daughter too. Love the school and staff dearly!

If so, I highly suggest you check out SET High (formerly Coleman Tech Charter School). Our son graduated from SET High last year and now our daughter is attending and we couldn't be happier. She is only in 9th grade and already taking on leadership roles. The teachers exceed my expectations. They know each student by name, have great relationships with them. My son's former teachers are always happy to see him when he goes to visit, which is often. He even gave graduation presents TO some of his teachers before he left. The students are geeky, wacky, nerdy, different, intelligent, unique, confident, and wonderful! My daughter said that she didn't want to go to any other school because she is with "her people" and she is right. Dr. McCurdy said in last year's commencement speech, "If you aren't failing, you aren't learning." What a great place to make mistakes, learn from them, and make improvements. I'm so excited for the students attending SET High because they are learning real-world skills at such an early age in a supportive, caring, and fun environment. You won't find a better school for your student!

Had an amazing experience with the WCEMT San Diego location (Aka get Spencer as the instructor). As…read morea newbie into healthcare/emergency services etc and without any previous knowledge like anatomy classes etc, I had so much to learn, just listen in lectures and you'll pass and do great. I did the accelerated course for 5 weeks Mon-Thu 8am-5pm. Tips: 1. whether you have general knowledge of the topics covered in an EMT course or not, acknowledge that you are gonna be digesting a lottttt of new information. Get good sleep, take your notes, apply yourself don't just show up to class and expect to pass 2. Create a good set up. I did my sign/symptoms homework over the weekend in addition to the online JBL quizzes. (both graded). This way during the week all I had to worry about was learning new information, being ahead, and studying for the in person quiz and exam. 3. Ask questions, the instructor is a tool that you can use. They are always there to help you and want you to succeed. Super knowledgeable and helpful, just have the courage to ask questions, especially when it's needed. 4. Sign up for your 2 required EMS rides early, if you do them in the second or third week it's better. A lot of the students including myself put dates for the last 2 weeks of the course, however EMS services can only have so many ride alongs.Hence, I just finished the course and am taking my 2nd ride along the week after because it was backed up. Do it early. 5. Make friends in the class and help each other out. We were all able to bond over the topics that were harder to learn etc, it ended up helping a lot. Everyone the first week is obviously nervous but everyone is super nice just put yourself out there. 6. When your class is studying together for the quiz or exam and Spencer is talking, listen CAREFULLY to what he says, if he repeats something or says it slowly, it's for a reason, study it for the quiz/exam. You will be doing yourself the biggest disadvantage if you don't listen to the instructor in class. 7. The skills assessments. You get out what you put in. Skills instructors are there to help teach you and correct you in practice, but be able to make mistakes and learn before skills testing day. 8. Manage your time effectively. Some students understood the information better than others and were able to enjoy themselves more outside of class time, for students like myself, the information was hard to grasp and the extra time outside of class is needed to study more. Expect to be done with class, go home and study what you learned. 9. Quizlet helps a lot, however cross check the information on there with your notes. (the book wasn't really much of help). But Spencer goes over all of the important topics in detail. Quizlet is good for practice but know your definitions and how things work. 10. Not everyone in the class but most were taken as a prerequisite for Fire Service. Super nice to network with everyone on this journey and get more information about the different routes people are on. I believe we started with 60 individuals and ended with 40 passing or so. Overall, the class was not that difficult if you followed these. At a bare minimum, turn everything in on time, keep up in the class or get ahead, LISTEN to the instructor. Great experience. Also the Cargo Cafe coffee shop there is phenomenal. Very convenient. About to take NREMT, super confident and studying pocket prep after the class. Goodluck y'all.

I personally received "treatment" when I was 16 and while I was there, I saw fully grown adults, tackling the youngest children. there I've seen five grown adults on one child one on each arm, each leg and on their neck while they were screaming crying for help. Absolutely reprehensible I just recently saw 2024. They were on the news being praised but i have nothing but mean and disheartening words for this business fuck you. You perpetuate an uphold child abuse in the state of California and you crush their spirits. There is a warm place in hell for anybody involved with this business. I am 22 years old now and it's been closer to a decade since I've been victimized by this association, but one thing that I can say with confidence that they have not taken away from me is my will and excitement to live to thrive and to grow bigger and stronger than any of the things that I ever experienced at that place. The abuse does not define me or my heart. Your day will come center for children. Your day will come, and it will be very, very sweet.

I'm extremely grateful to them for giving me the skills and courage to go out there into the dental field. They dedicated so much of their time and energy to help us grow, build our confidence, and to teach us everything we need to know ON TOP of their full-time jobs. Important to note: This course is $9000 if you sign up early, $10,000 if you sign up later on (of which neither cut off date was listed), and ~$11,000 if you pay along the way. The actual company name is Trilogy Education Services, and they take part in UC extension programs (and I suspect it is to mask their intentions with the UC's good name). The staff enjoys to call themselves recruiters, when in actuality they are salespeople who employ methods that are very similar to that of a timeshare: persistence, half-truths, and condescension. I received multiple emails from the company, and phone calls about 2-3 times a week. Once they got a hold of me, I did express that I was interested, but unsure due to my schedule and time commitment. I was informed it is ~30hrs/week commitment. I figured that this could potentially fit into my schedule, and asked about th next part of the process. They sent me an assessment, which was alarming in how easy it was. Something interesting is that there are asterisks underneath every coding-specific question that reads "remember: you are allowed to use Google to answer any of these questions!" They also send a questionnaire about what type of person you are, and if you're a "good-fit" for their course. In reality, I think this is meant to be used to hold against you if you end up finding that it does not work out (which is what happened in my case, with my "recruiter" insinuating that I lied about my work ethic in response to me politely explaining that I would be willing to do the program later when my workload would allow for it). Based on her response, I can confidently say that I will not be contacting them again, as I had previously intended to. Overall, I have found that if you are being constantly pestered by a company, and then guilted after rejecting, then perhaps the company isn't as prestigious as they claim to be. You can teach yourself code for free online at Udemy, EdX, FreeCodeCamp, and CodeAcademy, to name a few. Just set the time for yourself and treat it like an appointment. If you are in the San Diego area, and prefer learning in a classroom environment, Grossmont Community College has well reviewed professors in the Computer Sciences almost entirely across the board. Save your $9000/$10,000 for a new car.
