The only picture I took during the visit ‍ believe me when I say the office was clean and the equipment looked new and well kept

My 6 year old was seen here for a couple of pretty deep cavities. The staff was extremely friendly, professional and accommodating. The office has an amazing set up for kids with video games in the lobby, TVs above the chairs, weighted blankets, sensory items, etc. My son is very hot and cold at the dentist. Most of the time he does great but he can get overwhelmed. Dr.Mason was very patient with my son even when he began acting out during the procedure. What would normally take 15-20 minutes took well around an hour (not because of the dentist but because of my son's protesting). The staff did not make us feel like a burden at all which as a mother I really appreciated. I could tell there was a little stress and frustration building as my son was melting down after the local anesthetic was placed with the needle, as well as when the drilling began. I began to get a little worried as Dr.Mason walked out for a bit (I'm guessing (and hoping) that the reason for this was to tend to another patient since we were taking up so much of his time for this filling) but the assistant stayed and informed Dr.Mason when my son calmed again. Despite of it all the tooth was fixed and my son has zero complaints. He left with high fives and smiles for Dr.Mason and the staff. Even though he shed many crocodile tears my son and his brother were given cards for a free game of bowling which was very sweet of them. Overall, great staff, great atmosphere.

Dr. Mason runs an awesome innovative dental office. I had a tooth flair up and he opened up on a Saturday to take care of me!

Never a boring place in the waiting room either since it has a tv playing family friendly movies. A couple of tablets with children friendly games, and even an old arcade table of Pac man. And some toys as well for younger kids. My daughter is three at the moment of this review and she loves coming here. In the back they even have tablets mounted to the chairs, that plays Netflix so the children are occupied and not worried or thinking about what is going on while the dentist does what they need to with no problem. It is on second floor, but don't worry, there is an elevator for those who have problems with stairs. The parking sometimes can be limited since it's in a busy area with other stores and businesses.

They were proud to write their names on the no cavities club month chalk board tree. Dr. Courtney Davis and the staff were all really was great with all my children and most importantly gave me great advice on my children's oral care. I would definitely recommend her to you!!! We can't wait to go in six months!

This past Friday, 8/16/19 at just a little before 7:30a, we were driving from Hilton Head Island to Parris Island. I first noticed the driver of this vehicle in my rearview mirror as she was weaving in and out of traffic and cutting people off. She finally pulled up alongside me (I was in the left lane and she was in the right lane) and she pulled into my lane, exactly where I was currently driving. I laid on the horn, but that didn't stop her. She actually pushed me into the oncoming lane of traffic. Luckily there was nobody in that lane but I had my entire family in my vehicle, on our way to a Marine Corps graduation. Had there been anybody in that lane of traffic, it could've easily have injured/or killed all of us! This is unacceptable in any circumstance, but even more so considering she is representing your company! I attempted to call your office on Friday morning and left a message, but nobody called me back. I am really trying to be the better person here, but this lady put me and my entire family at risk! We tried to email/call them a few times, but they still did not contact us...

When they showed me that EVERY year since he was 2 years old they had taken an x-ray I felt like he didn't need to be exposed to radiation this year. Many advise against too many x-rays. This is what 1 online site said: How Safe Are Dental X-Rays? Exposure to all sources of radiation -- including the sun, minerals in the soil, appliances in your home, and dental X-rays -- can damage the body's tissues and cells and can lead to the development of cancer in some instances. Fortunately, the dose of radiation you are exposed to during the taking of dental X-rays is extremely small, especially if your dentist is using digital X-rays. Advances in dentistry over the years have lead to a number of measures that will minimize the risks associated with X-rays. However, even with the advancements in safety, the effects of radiation are added together over a lifetime. So every little bit of radiation you receive from all sources counts. If you are concerned about radiation exposure due to X-rays, talk to your dentist about how often X-rays are needed and why they are being taken. While some people need X-rays taken more frequently, current guidelines require that X-rays be given only when needed for clinical diagnosis. No clinical diagnosis was needed. I feel this was just a $$$ grab!

On March 1st, my son was complaining of pain in his mouth. We assumed cavity, or abscess and took him here. Although he did have a couple cavities, they said it was his 6yr molars coming in. A week later, his left side face was swollen beyond recognition, to the point his eye was closing and had a fever. We took him to the ER, where they thought abscess too. I explained we had just been to the dentist a week prior, where they had ruled that out. After IVs and a cat scan, they settled on Cellulitis. They put him on enough meds to put him down for another two weeks and he did improve. Fast forward to Tuesday, March 28th and the swelling looks like it is coming back. The ER had told us if it returned, he would have to come back and be admitted for 3 days of IV meds. My husband and I go on a business trip that morning. By the afternoon, our 6yr old is a mess and I leave my husband in Philly to catch the first flight home and take him back to the ER. This time they insist it is an abscess. Rather than take him to Coastal, we take him to our adult dentist who has very advanced equipment. Sure enough they confirm he has been carrying the pain and misery of an abscess for nearly a month. The following morning we take him back to Coastal in the hopes they are going to finally relieve his misery. After a month of pain and two trips to the ER, anyone would be apprehensive about going to another doctor. Our son was not cooperative and rather than try and gently work with him (which is what you would expect from a ped dentist) she was beyond rude and combative! Within ear reach of our son she got in my face and was saying "you need to calm him down, this is going to hurt and this is going to be hard and he is going to be in a lot of pain to get this tooth out, you need to calm him down"! At that point, I took my son and we immediately left. Our AMAZING adult dentist was willing to try, so we took him back there. At this point our son is terrified after what he had heard from the Coastal dentist. Even with gas and sedatives he was so scared he ended up peeing himself. This ENTIRE situation, which has now cost us THOUSANDS could have been a simple abscess diagnosis. Instead, we have a 6yr old traumatized and who will likely be a struggle to get to a dentist the rest of his life. It will require sedation each and every trip to get beyond this experience. BTW, he still has the abscess and we have to take him to MUSC to have him put under, due to how traumatized he was by this experience.

I didn't know to take him sooner. We brushed his teeth and he never had any complaints) The dentist found cavities. She said they were very deep and she wanted to do two baby root canals and caps on his top molars and 2 fillings on his bottom molars. She said he would need to be sedated for almost an hour in office. I was told if I opted for laughing gas, and he wasn't doing well they would bring in more staff to hold him down because they would finish the procedure once they started. My total bill would be $1200 as the sedation isn't covered. I called a second pediatric dentist for a second opinion She said that even though they didn't have xrays she was certain he didn't need any root canals and she only wanted to cap one tooth and she could fill the other 3 teeth. (She explained that these cavities were from under developed teeth and likely a genetics issue.) She also recommended a liquid Valium and laughing gas, but if he wasn't responding well we could reassess and choice a different option... he wouldn't be forced to continue. We just completed the work with them today and my bill was less than $450.
