We just got off the Captain Cook with Adventure Bound last week... What a great experience. Our captain was a young lady with 2300 trips to Tracy Arm under her belt. The ship was a bit aged re-engined with twin Komatsus and what looked like retrofitted windshield wiper motors tacked up front .... But.... It served us well. Our 9 hour sailing was breezy, full of informative conversation with the skipper and lots of ice, waterfalls up close, ice bergs up close, calving off Sawyer glacier relatively close in (50 yards?) and seals seen, but no bears, no whales or killer whales seen. Overall I'd call it a square value with superb and friendly staffing. I'd go again in a flash when next in Juneau!

Glacier carving. Wish I could post the video here.

Adventure Bound Alaska Tracy Arm Glacier Cruise was highly recommended by my Uber driver on my way to the hotel. This was reiterated by Keli, our concierge at the Baranof hotel, when she suggested that the best way to spend the day and to avoid tourists from 8 cruise ships docking last Tuesday. Wasn't expecting much since it was a shitty weather forecast for the day we decided to do it. But to my surprise, I was such an amazing experience. The deck men Ari (short for Aristotle) and John, took care of every passengers needs with a smile on their face. They were both very knowledgeable about the trip which makes it very exciting for everyone. And of course the Captain Steve, who knew all the right spots to take us and even went out of his way just for us to see lazy Harbor sea lions. But the best part of this trip was actually seeing and carving of the icebergs. Wish I could post a video here where I even recorded the Captain telling us thar his work was done for taking us there at the right time of the glacier carving. I highly recommend this adventure if you are in Juneau, AK!

This was a quintessential Alaska experience. The boat left on time at 7:45 and motored for 2 hours to Tracy Arm. Once inside the arm, we saw cobalt blue pop-up icebergs, Sawyer Glacier from two places and a channel full of sea ice and little icebergs with seals resting on them. Saw 2 or three glacier calving events. There must be hundreds of waterfalls coming down the mountains on the route. The Tongass is a rain forest after all, but when the sun came out it sometimes looked like Hawaii. On the way back we saw 6 bears, 5 humpback whales, a mountain goat, a dolphin, and lots of birds. It is much colder near the glacier than in Juneau, so layer up and avoid cotton which never dries once it gets wet. They sell very reasonably priced sandwiches and drinks on the boat. We returned at 5, so it was a 10-hour experience filled with everything we could have wanted. Very reasonable price for the fullness of the day.

My husband and I had a great time. We saw harbor seals, the north sawyer glacier, sea otters, and a black bear hanging out on the rocks. Friendly and knowledgeable staff and captain. Only one drawback, they were not following Juneau's mask mandate when inside.

Really great trip with Adventure Bound Alaska today! The Captain and owner was very knowledgeable about the glacier and surrounding area of Tracy Arm Fjord. He was able to navigate through the floating ice and position us within about a mile of Sawyer Glacier for a perfect view. All of the staff in the office and on the cruise were exceptionally helpful and pleasure to talk to. I highly recommend Adventure Bound Alaska is you are looking for an affordable, quality tour!

Ok, ya know when you have an idea how something's gonna be and often times you're wrong? I thought my trip up Tracy Arm to see the glacier and ice calving was going to be absolutely incredible - it even exceeded those expectations. I was dubious of a 10 hour journey. That's a lot of time. But it's Alaska wilderness and that's what I came for. Captain Steve was not just our captain but the owner of this family business. He was gracious, kind and the ultimate skipper - navigating through the icebergs like they were almost invisible. Of course, they weren't. They were the first magical moments we encountered. He stopped for bears, bergs, and most important, breaking ice! Tracy Arm is an adventure. Steve will get you close up and personal with all the splendor on show. Can't say enough great things about this company. Steve and his deck hands, Nick and Jake, made sure we had everything we needed. I'll let my photos tell the tale...

We were excited going into the cruise by the pictures we saw on the site. WE WERE BLOWN away by seeing it in person. Eagles, whales and a bear. It was a beautiful day with not a cloud in the sky and all sunshine . The crew and captain were professional and courteous. They made all the guest feel welcome and safe. Do yourself a favor and give adventure bound a try. You will not regret it. 6 staEs

In mid-March 2026 we found the vehicle we need on their website and submitted their online form,…read morewhich required a lot of personal information (drivers license, insurance policy and credit card). After clicking "Submit" there was an automated "Submitted" notice on the webpage, but no email confirmation ever arrived (yes, we also checked the spam folder). This left us with no confidence that we had a car reserved, and left us concerned about the security of our personal data. Beginning March 30, we left 4 messages regarding our reservation over two weeks, the last of which went to a full mailbox that could not accept any messages. What's wrong with this picture? At this point we gave up and booked a rental elsewhere. Then we sent an email cancelling the reservation we were not sure we really had, and requested that they delete the personal information we had submitted. Finally on April 15th we received an apologetic response saying that they had deleted our personal data. We had successful rentals from them in the past, but this experience should be a warning.

I was a little nervous since I typically rent from Hertz, Avis, National, etc. - not a local company. But I have to say that Juneau Car Rental was so impressive! Their rate was lower than I expected, the car was right by the ship at 6:30am as promised, and the communication was solid. The car itself was "gently used", so to speak, but very comfortable, sipped gasoline, and a pleasure to drive. Everything was perfect...(so we thought). About 6pm that evening, we were back on the ship and leaving for dinner when my wife realized that she didn't have her wallet. She realized the only place it could be is the car. Our cruise ship had already left port, but we were able to call Juneau Car Rental. They were very professional and able to find the wallet in the car. They priority mailed it back to us and we were very pleasantly surprised to find it had everything intact: driver's license, military ID, credit cards, religious medals, and hundreds in cash! Everything was pristine! These people are the best!!! Definitely rent from them and you can be absolutely sure that they are giving you the very best deal that they can.

It was truly one of the coolest and most unforgettable experiences I've ever had with brown bears. I felt completely safe the entire time, and it was absolutely incredible to watch these majestic animals in their natural habitat. Watching them fish was surprisingly fast, sometimes even hilarious! Wild Coast made the whole experience feel both thrilling and respectful to the wildlife. Wild Coast Excursions is the best opportunity to see bears in Juneau and probably Alaska! Spectacular scenery from the air and on the ground and a fabulous learning opportunity. I highly recommend Wild Coast Excursions!
