I was so relieved to know that I had finally found someone who could help me with my pain and manage a new way of life for myself. However the person that works at the front desk, Lucy, will be the reason he has lost me for a new patient. On my initial visit, I walked in the was barely greeted and was given an attitude as though she was being terribly bothered by walking in the door. There was no smile and no warm greeting whatsoever. It is a reminder that when people walk into a chiropractic office it is because they are in critical pain and they should be greeted with a warm smile and compassion. She has none... Then as I was getting ready to leave she informed me that their office is out of network for my insurance and that I owed them $95! In the initial paperwork, they asked for insurance information and if the insurance is out of network or is not covered then it has been my experience in offices that the patient is informed as a courtesy. I called the office this morning and immediately she was on the defensive and said that she does not call the patient to let them know that information that it is the responsibility of the patient to know everything before they walk in the door... Part of that may be true, but my insurance covers chiropractic... It would've been a great courtesy if they had let me know they we out of network and I could've made other arrangements to find someone in network. This was a referral that I was given to go to this office, and she, Lucy, is ruining any possibility of new clients for this office. I would not recommend anyone to go to that office just because of her and the doctor would do well to address the situation and make necessary changes if he feels his business would benefit from it. I know one thing... I will never go back to that office again no matter how much he may have helped me someone like her can make all the pain come back again in an inadvertent way!

With four bulging discs C4-7, I was in fear on of herniating. I literally felt numbing in my fingers. I went three days a week for a period of time and some physical therapy. I believe in the healing that Tom provides. He is very spiritual in how he educated you about what he is doing and how the body reacts to movement and treatment. He doesn't force an adjustment. He is methodical. Needless to say, I've recovered fully. I didn't need to have any fusion. I see Tom periodically as needed. Lately it's been maybe four times per year, if that. And I travel over an hour one way to see him now that I've moved away from Portland. I refuse to see anyone else. Thanks Tom. You are the Superman of Chiropractors. And a stand up human being. It's been an honor knowing you all this time.

They discharged me for missing an appointment due to a…read moreflat tire, the director refuses to call me back after leaving the most condescending voicemail, the front office girl pretty called me a liar after telling me to come in at a time that they were closed for a team meeting. If you miss two appointments, they discharged you and send a note to your workman's comp case manager that you are to go back to work. When I called back the front desk girl was so rude and said, "by the way, I would have never scheduled you during a team meeting" and said she would give the director a message and he would, "call me back if he wants to". My workman's comp case manager was blown away. I have to wait to be seen to get another referral to another place, and in the meantime, because of this place, I risk losing programmers and re-injury.

I liked my therapist. I got sick. I've never been this sick. It's been 3 weeks with this illness. Not COVID not flu. I wasn't able to talk without bringing on nausea or extreme chest pain and coughing. My method of letting them know was to respond to their emails upon receiving them the day before my appointments. I missed 3 appointments. I emailed twice. They responded once so I know they saw my emails. I was finally able to call them this morning. After stating my name I was told I had been discharged. Thing is, they didn't even answer one of my emails. They did not reach out to me. They were very clearly rejecting me when I really needed help. I'm a senior. This is elder abuse.

When I called thinking the bill was in error, I was told that since I received treatment, the bill was valid. When I asked that they just pay my copays for the treatment I needed to correct the injury Dr W inflicted on me, the "Doctor" sent me a curt email saying that wouldn't be happening and if I didn't like it I can contact her malpractice insurance company. (She told he previously, before she decided to be nasty, that she has done this 4 times before) Omg .. are you freaking kidding me?! In my specific scenario I had been a gymnastics for many years. I have old injuries that I have to keep in alignment however in January 2017 something was seriously wrong with my foot. I tried to ignore it thinking it would get better, went my general practitioner medical doctor and the Podiatrist who completed an MRI on it. They said it was maybe arthritis (at 33!) and then suggested I get cortisone shots in my foot. I was taking heavy pain medication, trying special shoes. I even went to acupuncture! Nothing really worked. I changed my diet and cut back sugar which seemed to reduce the inflammation but still wasn't working. It was terrible as I've always been active and really couldn't even walk for long periods of time! Until I came to visit Dr. Vroom recommended by my friend Sarah on Monday. He completed an adjustment and suggested the laser so I tried it. Almost immediately the swelling reduced! My foot was still hurting that day but the next day it was better and by Wednesday it was like I hadn't had a problem for 11 months!! I had an issue with my sciatic nerve and hip. I went to…read moreanother chiropractor in town and got x-rays, foot scan and he made a treatment plan consisting of 36 visits, three times a week, for three months at the tune of $3700 (or I could pay for the whole plan up front for $2900 to save 30%). I received 3 sessions (consisting of an adjustment and then 20 minutes on a roller table with a TENs unit. There was a little relief but not much. I called Advanced Chiropractic and asked for a second opinion. Dr. Troy saw me the next day (thank you ) and reviewed my X-rays, foot scan and treatment plan. I explained to him how and when it started hurting and he knew right away what was causing my discomfort. It was piriformis syndrome and it should be able to be managed in 3-5 sessions. It took *one* session with icing and stretching. The session consisted of an adjustment, stretches and a good ten minutes of a massage gun on those muscles (thank you, Sam). It felt like a horse kicked me in the left glute the next couple days but with the stretches and icing, four days later, I can walk without the sciatic nerve yelling at me and without pain. Now I can get back to my exercise routine and walk my dogs again! Advantage Chiropractic and it's staff are pretty amazing! I'm very glad I chose them to get my second opinion with!
