My Feedback is the same as alot of other folksl. The pricing is out of this world. And even without diagnosing my issue they were calling for a nasal surgery. Several sleep tests and CT scan and a few hundred dollars later I finally got to meet with a doctor for 5 minutes. All to be told this "in house" procedure that takes 15 minutes is not covered by insurance and will be several thousand dollars out of pocket. After getting a second opinion I was told by another ENT that their procedure is to fix chronic sinus infections not snoring and sleeping issues which is not even related to the reason I was a patient to begin with. read more

This feels like a scam, and unfortunately, I was hopeful enough to fall for it. A coworker of mine, who is on Medicare, went to Advent Oconomowoc for breathing issues and paid nothing. I went in for a consult, saw the doctor for less than a minute, and was later billed over $1,000. Even after insurance, I still owe just under $700. I honestly don't know what I paid for... Communication has been terrible. They send endless text messages, but you can't actually talk to a person. I finally called the main line and selected the "new patient" option just to reach a human being. I explained that I had never been told what my insurance would cover for the procedure. During my consult, the PA estimated about $1,000 out of pocket for the portion that insurance typically doesn't cover. That was high, but manageable. After waiting more than a week and calling every day for answers, I was finally told the real cost would be just under $6,000 out of pocket. I cancelled immediately which was soul crushing given the glowing reviews. Now I expect to be charged a fee for "not cancelling within 48 hours" despite the fact that I spent days trying to get basic pricing information. It makes me wonder if the glowing reviews are coming exclusively from patients on Medicare, because my experience was completely different. What an expensive lesson to learn. read more

I agree with most of the other reviews. This is a scam. First, don't believe that insurance will cover any part of your visit. The first visit, you meet with a P.A. (not a doctor) for 15 minutes and they tell you to take over-the-counter allergy medicine. The bill? $700 for 15 minutes and a "take allergy medicine." Of course, insurance covered nothing. There is no upfront pricing in regards to anything. Once they get you in the door, they will try to set up three additional appointments including CT Scans, allergy tests, etc. Anything to keep the meter running on each patients. Update well it has gotten worst they overcharged me $300 and I have to wait to see if they will give the money back. as well as there never being the same person at the desk. luckly I only have 1 more visit in the contract then I can go to a real doctor and see how bad this is. I hope I can get this fixed I have little to no relief from my issues i went into this trying to fix. STAY FAR AWAY! I would give these people negative stars if possible. I don't have much to say about their ENT as I never got to meet one. The problem is their front desk and the total incompetence that they exhibited. I called ADVENT in the first week in October after receiving a diagnosis from a different ENT. Asking SPECIFICALLY if I seen their ENT if I would be able to have the procedure I needed done before the end of the year (which the first could not) and therefore in the same set of copays. I was GUARANTEED that would not be a problem. They scheduled me an initial appointment on October 29th. After seeing the PA there, I was told I needed to have an CT scan scheduled (I just had a full head MRI done a month prior) but I was like fine. The first available for the CT scan was Dec 4th!! This REALLY concerned me as it was pushing the early time line out. The receptionist/scheduler at the desk (which is very likely the person I talked to the first week of October) now told me that there is a good chance the procedure would not be able to happen before the end of the year. I am now VERY upset as they waisted a MONTH that I could have went elsewhere. I wanted to see if I could schedule a CT elsewhere. The scheduler said I would need to have the order generated by the ENT. Guess what...I was not able to see the ENT until Dec 4th. I told the scheduler to keep the Dec 4th appointment and I will see I can schedule a complete procedure do over elsewhere. I was not able to see a new ENT from a different provider in time to get this done in the same year due to the late date. I went to the my appointment today, DEC 4th and LOW AND BEHOLD the incompetent scheduling lady never actually scheduled the Dec 4th appointment! There were no more slots... some other lady asked "did we verify with you?" That's a not a me problem I don't know what you do after something is scheduled. I had a time and date. I was there at that time and date.. ADVENT FAILED AT ALL STEPS!! I WAISTED 4 hours of vacation time, 2 hours of drive time, a copay for the first completely useless visit. DO NOT GO TO THIS LOCATION, AND I WOULD ALSO RECOMMEND STAYING AWAY FROM ADVENT AS A WHOLE!!! read more

I've been reading all the bad reviews for Advent Knows. Maybe these reviews are for another company. All I know is I had a great experience at Advent's Dublin, Ohio location. I am a 70 year old male that has had breathing problems for at least 30 years. The procedure I had was as advertised. I can't remember the last time I breathed this well. My experience was the same as many others. I was quoted $800.00 and paid that but then received another bill for $300.00. My insurance did not cover anything. But Advent had submitted bills to them and the insurance company sent me copies of those bills. The total on all the bills were almost $25,000.00. I know the medical profession is expensive. The doctor was only in the room for 20 minutes and billed almost $20,00.00 for his part in the procedure. The other people were only in the room in my three visits for maybe 20 minutes also. The sad part is that I spent the time and money and there has been no change in my breathing at all. This all took place last spring. I wish I had looked at the reviews before I went to them. Our story is very similar to many already posted here (meds for sinus infection, straight into surgery to solve sleep apnea, $1,800 check ups to spray affrin, BCBS letter deeming this medically necessary and bills with amounts that were never communicated). That nice building is paid for by scamming people. My husband still has terrible sleep quality and went through a pretty difficult 6 week recovery. The staff is amazing! I was able to get a cat scan from my insurance and take the disc to the advent office, after a netting with the doctor, we scheduled the surgery. I couldn't be happier with the results. No more snoring, better rest after a full night of sleep. The Schaumburg office staff, answered all my questions and even let me meeting with the medical/insurance personnel to get everything in order before the procedure. I never had an experience easier than this. On my six week recovery, surgery was yesterday! Just make sure you follow everything they tell you to do. Every 3/4 hours, do your sinus rinse, and I should have done this 40 years ago, but I don't think advent existed back then! I have been working with this location for over a year and have yet to have a smooth encounter. Multiple calls with different information regarding insurance coverage - and I work in the industry so u am very well versed on the insurance terminology and implications. Today I had a 9:30 appointment- I live over an hour from this location and received a voicemail at 9:01 that my device isn't in so I might want to not come. Atrocious customer service. We went in after hearing that Advent had many solutions for sleep apnea other than the traditional hose and mask. We were there only for the sleep apnea. Before we knew it, antibiotics had been prescribed for an infection that did not exist, nasal srays and a sinus scan were ordered. Lastly, an in home sleep study. The PA was following the protocol to get approval from Medicare for a sinus surgery. There has been not 1 sinus infection or issue in the 25 years I've known my husband. Before we knew it, Medicare had approved the surgery and a date was set. We asked about the sleep study and was told those results would have to be discussed in office. That appointment was all about the surgery and after asking again about the sleep study, we were told my husbands sleep apnea was so severe, the only option was the mask and hose. My husband cancelled the unnecessary surgery and we left feeling like this is what Medicare fraud looks like. What had they told Medicare to get aporoval for a surgery that was not needed? If there were breathing or sinus problems, the sleep apnea set up would not work. Beware- don't let them steer you in a direction you are not there for. It was really slick and very practiced. No one should ever have an unessesary procedure, there are always risks. If you have questions about sleep apnea, get a referral from your Dr.- do not walk into Advent. They planned and sceduled an unessesary procedure and all but ignored the real reason we came. Shame on you Advent- how many other elderly people have you scammed?​ read more

big scam!! no pricing for appointments, tried to get me to commit insurance fraud by trying to get me to sign a form stating i tried the cpap machine and it didnt work, so they could sell me a mouth guard for $5,500. i never even tried a cpap machine at that point and i never signed the form! my insurance company isnt stupid and they would be able to see if they were billed for a cpap machine. i wasnt getting put into that trick bag! be very careful!! read more

When in to check this place out and they suggested I do a Sleep study with the Night Owl unit for your finger. I tried 3 nights, got 1 night that barely met criteria. I got the results and they said I had sleep apnea. I questioned them, the ladies I spoke to "Not Doctors" a PA and other. Didn't seem to really be able to explain it and were a bit confused by questions. I was not buying what I was told. So I my insurance was charged a few thousand dollars, and the study was not even read by a real doctor. I showed the results to my primary physician and the validity was in question. Set up a Sleep Medicine consult with Community Sleep Medicine, and my consult said that the sleep study done by Advent was not a valid study, and the results were not reliable. So he suggested I do a much more advance sleep study with a Nose piece, chest band, and finger piece for oxygen levels. Results read by a Doctor, and came back that I have no sleep apnea from the sleep study - reviewed and signed by a Doctor. Mislead, overcharged, and don't waste your time or money here. Poorly trained, misleading, and not valid. So me and my insurance where charged thousands of dollars that ended up being a WASTE OF TIME AND MONEY!!! read more

I had my procedures done at the office in Mequon Wi, please do your own research before doing anything at Advent I had a procedure done here in October 2024 and I ended up the next day in the Neuro ICU for 21 days! I had air getting into my head causing spinal fluid to leak out of my nose. I had to have a spinal drain put in to relieve the pressure on my brain. Advent is NOT Better Business Bureau accredited; they have a F rating. Had I known that before I wouldn't have gone here. I am still not able to go back to work as I have too many medical restrictions to return to my Job. All of the office staff and the P.A.'s are all wonderful! read more

I have intermittent snoring issues due to deviation of my septum. Thought maybe I could do something non invasive to help with snoring. Turns out this company is just good at marketing and not much else. When you need to market so much and your word of mouth following isn't strong there are issues. The bills are ridiculous. Established in advance of making an appt that advent takes my insurance and I am covered and now I have been following up for over 3 months as the claim was processed as out of network. Cannot get anyone to take care of this. They only attempt to post messages to my insurance when I call them but I cannot get them to pick up the phone and call my insurance company to find out exactly how to resolve this. When I call my insurance company they say another claim had to be submitted with an in network tax id which Advent insists that they are. I have spent hours on this and would never recommend them to anyone since they do not care to get this taken care of and do what they said before I came in. A year after seeing Advent for their BS procedures, I am still fighting them over the unpaid portion of the bill. As others have said, they charged me for things insurance didn't cover even though I did not request the service precisely because it was not covered. I pay the bill, but then they send the late fee to collections. Then they sent the interest on the late fee to collections after you pay that. And on and on and on. read more

They will claim that you will get a complete accounting of how much the nasal surgery will cost prior to the surgery, so you can make a decision about whether or not you want to proceed. This did not happen. Three thousand dollars later, they did apologize, but I get the distinct impression that they magically forget to let people know how much it is going to cost on a regular basis. Also, they do some type of procedure where the slide a small camera into your nose. It takes less than 30 seconds and they charged close to $500 for it both times they did this. We actually have half way decent insurance but you will not be given a clear picture of what you are getting yourself in to, even if they promise to do so. read more

As I have aged, now in my 60's, I found that my deviated septum has made it more difficult to breath through one nostril. It is most noticeable at bedtime even though using Flonase. I have also gotten several sinus infections. I went to Advent for a "free" consultation. I've learned to be through and patient. With any office visit ask ahead of time what your upcoming visit or procedure will cost. Get all procedure codes for surgery, X-rays, etc. as well as pre/post-operative cares ahead of time. Others who gave poor reviews below, obviously didn't do their homework. I did and do. I obtain procedure codes AND have the office confirm with my insurance that the upcoming services will be covered. I double check with my insurance with the codes and that the Insurance company really did approve of procedures. Then and only then, I set a date for what has been approved, X-rays, etc. After determining that my sinus X-rays were covered, I made a new appointment just for that. The X-rays determined blockages. The doctor then explained how their procedures could benefit my breathing. I was never pressured to accept any new procedures without knowing my insurance had approved them. Prior to the actual outpatient surgery, again Advent contacted my insurance carriers to confirm what costs would be covered and although no specific prices were given to me, I did receive specific procedure codes and was advised to verify for myself what Medicare and my supplement insurance would cover, which I did. I was told by Advent and my Insurance companies that after my deductible, all of my expenses would be covered. I had balloon sinuplasty the week before Christmas. The procedures were minimally invasive and with minimal pain. I have to say a dentists' injections have caused me more pain than these Advent procedures. Immediately after surgery, I was able to breath better and this has continued during the healing process, even with the naturally expected interior swelling of the areas. Nothing obvious on the outside of the nose. No black eyes. Amazing! I can say that all is going well to date. I'll follow up on any final costs I may have. Surgery Follow Up: I had 3 Advent visits during my 3 months of Post-Op care. I made sure these were covered by insurance prior to initial surgery. Since surgery, I followed the instructions of doing nasal washes 2-3 times per day followed by anti-bacterial ointment. All quite easy to do. I was able to wash out debris on a daily basis to maintain good breathing quality even with initial post-op swelling on the interior. (None out side). I also used a spray at other times of the day to keep my nose moist inside to avoid scabbing during the dryness of winter. I have had three post-op visits to Advent. Two visits were with the physician's assistant to remove debris higher up in the nasal passages that didn't flush out. No pain with this process. One visit was with the doctor to do his check up. All in all, I have only had to pay approximately $300.00 that my insurance did not cover, die to not meeting my new deductible in 2020. I also paid for my at home materials for nasal flushing, etc., minimal cost. I have been very impressed with my Advent doctor and staff at the Wauwatosa clinic in the Milwaukee, WI area. I am happy to say that my daughter, (pleased to hear of my experience), is planning to go to the Advent Clinic near her Chicago area home. So my advise: Plan ahead. Be through and detailed in knowing all procedures. Follow through with knowing for certain that your Insurance providers have agreed to accept these costs. Then and only then agree to any test, pre/post-op procedures and surgery. Advent helped me breath better through surgery that was minimal invasive with little discomfort.
