Up the block more on 47th in a nicer building ENTRANCE - tight security so make sure you have ID and a smile when they photo you. LOL FLOOR LOCATION - when out of the elevator turn left and just go all the way until you can't go anymore and 2906 is on the right RECEPTION - Pretty stoic and direct. Checking your reservation and there are like 4 seats in the small waiting area until they greet you for an appraisal TECHNICIAN - the is rated EXCEPTIONAL from my vantage point. We were surprised to have the owner evaluate our gem with the latest equipment. PROCESS - for those on the clock the duration for evaluation is within 40 minutes. In addition, they do a thorough cleaning of a ring for optimal evaluation. Then if you have an old report they closely compare to make sure the diamond is the same. The repeat measurements and use newer technology to get better descriptions etc. VALUATIONS - in our case the value from 2006 was the same but the advent of man made diamonds has impacted market prices significantly. Just letting those interested know. Travis couldn't be more friendly, personable, knowledgeable and congenial. EDUCATION - through the process Travis provided insights into the state of the market including scams to be aware of like forged appraisals to get you to pay more in a third party sale. INSURANCE HELP - as a service we were given a list of questions to ask insurers as there are little known nuance's as to what is covered under different circumstances. EXTREMELY helpful PRICE - I must say that prices have come down significantly since 2006. I only paid $75 for this appraisal which is super reasonable even by New York City standards RECOMMENDATION - I highly recommend this GIA licensed establishment as providing HONEST , FAIR, and HIGH QUALITY assessments for a super reasonable cost.

They didn't say that on the phone call inquiry. I definitely indicated I was driving in to their location. Wrote a letter to corporate and 5 days later, still no response. Not impressed.
