Everything went well from the ease of scheduling appointments to check out. The front desk staff was professional and prompt from uploading documents to getting him seen within 15 min of arrival Octavia, the nurse, was very sweet. She introduced herself and gave a bit of background about herself and the purpose of her role during his visit. She asked thorough questions and repeated his responses back to him for clarification. Dr. Shapiro came in 10 min after she entered the notes. He was very nice and polite. He asked follow-up questions that Octavia had previously asked for clarification on. He explained thoroughly why my dad was on specific medications and their role. He ordered bloodwork in which it was done in-house. He also ordered imaging (PET scan) and prescription refills. The Phlobotomist was sweet and funny! She and my dad hit it off well. She suggested he drink more water considering it was difficult to find a vein. My dad says well may I should have had a glass of wine! . She laughed and stated that it would not be a good idea As previously stated check out was good. On the way home I received a call from the office scheduling the PET scan. We were able to get the day/time we wanted. All in all, it was a very good visit! I'm very pleased with the staff and Dr. Shapiro. If you or a family member needs a Urologist, give them a call. From my understanding, there are other locations.

I have been having issues in the evening hours and also going multiple times a day to the bathroom…read more I was referred to the Bhalani Urology Institute. I've been a patient here for about a year now, and after trying some medication and seeing some improvements- I still knew I needed to continue to stay open minded for whatever is recommended. Today, I had a cystoscopy scheduled. This is where they put a camera in the most awkward of places, to see what's happening in your bladder and all of the area around. They do an excellent job of prepping you for the procedure. Lots of paperwork, communication, and support. I knew what I had to do and was prepared for the morning to come and my nerves weren't so bad thanks to the meds prescribed prior. Checking in, Ellie and Ivette were very friendly, professional, and helpful. I had some money owed, based on what insurance didn't cover and also the supplemental option to keep the pain to a minimum. No problem, I got checked in, payment, and set up with no problems at all. I needed my father to drive me after this was over. Once checked in, Ruhi and Sophia (training) both got me situated in the room and explained what I needed to do to get ready for Dr. B and to be sure I was ready and happy to avoid pain and discomfort at all. Dr. Bhalani came in and the procedure took a couple minutes. By the time it was done, I was dressed and sitting on the chair waiting to hear the results. He was so thorough, and detailed the options and paths forward for addressing the problems I was seeing. I also had some concerns about something I have had seen for years, and he was patient and supportive about also addressing those concerns without making me feel like it wasn't a major issue. All said, we need to make a path forward and I will continue to use this office team because of the comfort level I have built over the last year+ with everyone. I recommend the Bhalani Urology Institute for anyone's needs and concerns. Take any anxiety about what has to happen and trust this group.

Their excuses ran the gamut from Dr. Is on vacation to no operating rooms available at the hospital. My ex is 74, easily confused, non-confrontational and on Medicare. When I finally convinced him to let them know that I could speak to them, they suddenly found an OR available. Dr. Woo was careful to show me what a great job he had done, but when I asked about the damage that could have been caused by the prolonged use of a catheter, he quickly started blaming prostrate medication...medication HE prescribed! Fortunately, removal went off well and he is able to "void" so far. A lawsuit is still not out of the question for the pain and suffering caused by this neglect.

After many infections my ER Doctor told me he thought it needed to be removed. I called and they had an open appointment that day. But my V. A. Paper work didn't updated. She would call back. Never have yet. 2 weeks. They care more about the money then patients. V.A. has already paid out over 45,000.00 in medical bills already. They can't float an office visit of 120.00 . After Dr Christopher Keith left they lost there best Doctor. I had the other two and they are just a Doc in a box not as good. So they will leave you hanging even if you are in need. So after two weeks I removed the suprapubic tube MYSELF! I'm doing so much better. Sometimes it's just better to do your own research on your condition and be your own Dr. I'm better now NO HELP FROM THEM. STAY AWAY

I have enjoyed each visit because of this amazing staff. Doctor Timothy McCullough listens closely and afterwards makes recommendations for all options available but more importantly that they are the best options for your problem and situation. He is very thorough in explaining how those options are done and how they may improve your condition. I've maybe made 2 other reviews in my lifetime but this one I definitely needed to make.

First, they will push whatever the local pharmaceutical rep is selling. Once you find out that's not covered by insurance, they'll send another prescription to the pharmacy. Then they'll take 2-3 weeks to send the authorization, during which time the pharmacy will drop your standing prescription. I have been to the pharmacy multiple times, called the Dr's office multiple times, spoken with my insurance multiple times, and still do not have my prescription after waiting for 2 months. They milk your insurance, push pharma rep preferred name brands (likely with kickbacks), and don't really care how long it takes to get your medication to you. I eventually gave up and will now have to start the process over with another urologist. Save yourself and headache and GO SOMEWHERE ELSE! Quite possibly the worst experience I have had with any medial office.
