Well, from my first step in the door to leaving, this place was FIRST CLASS. Make that, from my appointment setup. They promptly returned my call, etc. They were so cheerfully eager to serve me. The evening before my first time appointment, Dr. Kboudi even called me to introduce himself. I missed his call but he left a voicemail. I was shocked. Never has a dentist done that for me. Contrary to a couple of other posts, they were cheaper than my previous dentist (a "green" signed chain around town). I had the very strong feeling they were trying to meet a quota for the year. Each time I went in, it was like going to a car dealership with them trying to get me to get several procedures done. And each time I would express that I need extra numbing agent, I feel that was downplayed or "hard to believe." I asked about "sedation dentistry." That was brushed off too. My last cleaning with them was enough. But enough about them. Back to the FIRST CLASS folks... I truly mean "first class" because I've had extensive dental work done over my life and been to dentists across the country due to being a traveler. Each person here greeted me with a smile and by name. That says ALOT, nowadays. I was treated like a valued customer. And yes, the place does smell like cookies. Heheeee! You leave with gift bag and cookies, if you like. I'm so thankful to have found Advanced Smile Care. I, so willingly, drive all the way across town to this practice any day! In 2020, I had a porcelain crown and build up treatment for tooth that was done at Advanced smile care . Now I was told by two dentist that the crown is broken and needs to be redone. I have been contacting them but they are not offering to redo the crown and told me that I have to pay again! I don't recommend the Advanced smile care. read more

This is the first dentist place I have ever liked to come visit. The place always looks nice and clean and always get a nice greeting everytime. I've been coming for a while now and they all have been so kind and helpful. They helped to fix my teeth when my last dentist kept messing up my teeth and wouldnt fix my fillings. Dentists always answer my questions, clearly explain what needs to be done if anything is needed, and make sure you're comfortable throughout the appointment. They offer all kinds of stuff including ortho. I'm doing invisalign with them currently so hopefully will have nice and pretty straight teeth soon. Best part to me is when they offer cookies to me when my appointment is done a nice treat after they clean your teeth up! read more

Caring, gentle and urgent care given ! I was worked in to have one of my veneers replaced on the day I lost it and right before I was to fly out on a business trip! The whole office is professional and warm which feels like family. I walk in to my visits where they know my name and we become friends. I get cookies too! Advanced Smile Care is affordable especially for the advanced care they give. They offer many financial options given that are presented in a professional and friendly atmosphere. My 79 yr old Mom terrified of going to dentist. Knew she hurting bad to ask me to make appointment for her. She went here in 2015 for broken tooth/infection because of how they "catered to cowards". At today's visit every single person we dealt with was kind, patient and professional. My Mom decided she did t need extra sedation this time and after the broken tooth with exposed root was extracted she thanked the doctor and told me she wasn't as scared as she expected. Amazing staff and very clean facility. I was late and the lady called me asking if I was lost and needed direction. Once I got inside the the lady was very friendly and walked me through all the steps and then a nurse came out with a gift saying welcome to the office. I was then introduced to the doctor who was very nice and really looked at each tooth. He caught two cavities and was able to fix my bite. Also you see what they are looking at because there is a tv above your head and the camera is in your mouth it's pretty cool! I was able to see my cavities while the dr was looking at it. After the procedure he went over everything explained what a good plan for me to take would be and how to proceed. This is a great office and highly recommend. read more

I never thought I would give a dentist's office a 5 star review, but here we are! I had terrible dentist about 6 years ago and have been scared to go back since. All the employees here could not have been nicer to me. Nobody made me feel bad for not coming sooner. I did have to get some fillings done and had to have partial sedation to calm my nerves. In 2020, I had a crown work done by Dr. Thomas and I paid 1600$ because I didn't have insurance. After a year, I went to another dentist for routine cleaning and an x-ray and I was told that the crown was broken. I read the paperwork that Advanced Smile care gave me and it shows 5 years warranty. I contacted Dr. Thomas and scheduled an appointment and he admitted that the crown was broken but he said that I needed to pay the same amount (1600$) without insurance or 1000 with insurance. I refused to pay and requested something in writing that explains why the warranty was not an option. But they asked me to leave and never go back. read more

I have been a patient for a long time but only recently was very unhappy. Dr. Kaboudi and staff always did a great job helping not only myself but my family I referred and countless others I sent their way. During the last year+ of my 3 visits a year for a cleaning (I always pay one out of pocket to ensure my teeth gums etc are healthy) the practice was being sold and although I came in for my routine visits I didn't have an xray. Looking back they said I denied having one during a visit. Why would I choose to pay them an extra cleaning each year only to deny an X-ray that is a true preventative. Oxymoron. Fast forward after a cleaning I was asked if I wanted an X-ray??? Reply is yes I think it's been a while. That question shouldn't be asked it is part of the plan as I had insurance at that time. Surprise I had 9 cavities between teeth. I was using melatonin quiet a bit at night and used a gummy type so I can and did take responsibility for issues. It took me a while to understand why the heck I had soooo many but I did ask for a partial refund bc had I had X-ray when I routinely should of been given one it would of been caught well in advance. Thousands of dollars later and in 2020 I was no longer on insurance. I bought the advanced smile plan so paid additional and repeatedly asked for some sort of credit. The dr. that took over couldnt of been nicer and she couldn't understand why I had so many cavities after having nothing before. Long story short I paid all requested they did work I have had some ongoing issues and then they said they would not credit me. Beware things have changed and they are still trying to charge my cc for the monthly plan even after I wrote an email asking to stop all charges. Very disappointed read more

After 15 years of being a faithful and loyal patient, the founder, Dr Crouch, retired and the place has gone to the dogs. I have given it more than a year to see if I can adjust but first Dr Kboudi started my implant without waiting for my anesthesia to kick in. " sedition dentistry " sure? Then I switched to another Doc. An in a matter on 2 moths he left too. After that I started noticing rudeness, indifference and not the customer service I was used to. The last time I was there I left in tears. I will never recommend them again. It's a real shame! The last person I recommend ran away as fast as he could! From my dental hygienist and dentist to the front desk employees, everyone is kind, caring, and passionate about their job. Pros: The office is clean and up to date with contact methods, they have convenient office hours, location and the staff is very friendly. Cons: As someone else posted, they are expensive and in my case, recommended things that aren't necessary. They actually recommended cosmetic dentistry involving cutting my gums to expose more of my teeth. I don't even have a low gum line and my teeth are normal size. I was a little offended and said no thank you. When they gave me my treatment plan for non-cosmetic work, my portion was about 500 and I was shocked because my previous dentist had finished all of my dental work 6 months earlier. Then the finance office called me and said there was an error and it was actually a few hundred more. Again I said no thanks. Fast forward 6 months, I went back to my previous dentist and they tell me all I have is a chipped molar, which I believe because I can feel the sharp corner and I need a crown for about $200. read more

I am sad to post such a poor review of this dentist, because the staff is truly lovely. Unless you have money to literally throw away, you cannot afford this place. I received a full exam with full X-rays 5 months ago. The cost was $261. While this is not tooo terrible, I came back to fix a cavity they had found and they told me I had to have a completely new exam since it was 5 months later. I SPECIFICALLY asked what the exam would cost and they promised me it would be free, unless they needed to take new X-rays- however I would only have to pay for the cost of the X-ray alone, in that case. Once they did the new exam and new X-rays were taken, they told me they could quickly fix my very small cavity within 20 minutes and without even using anesthesia. I thought- Awesome! Less money without anesthesia!!..... Well when they showed me the paperwork, I had to pay $81 for the new exam, + $32 for the new x-rays, +250 for the cavity. If you look up the average cost of molar cavity fillings across the country, you will find the most expensive is $250. I had a VERY small cavity filled without ANY need for anesthesia, and it took no time at all. You tell me why I had to pay $250 on top of the $81 fee for an exam that was promised to be free. I even told them they had said it would be free and they said management decided I must pay, regardless. Although they really do have the sweetest staff, these prices are absolutely absurd. You can get the service you need from any other dentist and save that money for real emergencies. read more

Relocated to San Antonio and had a terrible time finding a dentist that was sympathetic to my sensitive teeth. Scheduled a consultation only visit and explained my situation and finally got a dentist to listen to me. Other dentist wrote me off as dental fear or plain did not care, with one giving me over 20 shots of novacain and decided "well we can't help you", true and recent story and too bad I can't list that dentist name here. Just finished up my 5th visit; consultation, Temp crown, crown, cleaning and a night guard and i can't say enough at how amazingly nice and professional the staff is, the office is clean, the dentist I saw was great and I am really glad to have found them. read more

I visited Advanced smile care after leaving my other dentist of 20 years. The customer service is like no other! All the way from the super sweet receptionist Betsey to the hygienists and the doctors. I went in for a cleaning, but also had a lot of pain and right away they got to the root of it (literally) and made me feel so much better. The hospitality is unmatched which is a very difficult thing to come by nowadays. Dr. Aspiras even called me on several occasions to check on my pain and how I was doing after each visit. At the end of one of my treatments they even gave me a bottle of wine and a balloon. I would definitely recommend ASC to anyone looking for a great dentistry practice! read more

Unfortunately I am forced to update my review of Advanced Smile Care. I trusted this dental office. I needed to have 5,000 worth of cosmetic work done last year. I gave the office BOTH of my insurance cards.I asked THREE times for them to verify my secondary insurance, Aetna, and THREE times they told me I had NO coverage through Aetna. I trusted them. Recently, during my review of continuing coverage through Aetna I discovered that I did have dental coverage with Aetna, I myself called to confirm it. I called the office to complain, the woman who answered the phone A) couldn't even find me as a patient B) when I was giving her my insurance information stated that because my policy didn't start with a W meant I didn't have dental coverage!!!!!!!! I told her I had JUST verified it!!! All I wanted was for them to help me get reimbursed the 1500 I should have been reimbursed from the beginning!!! She refused. I was told the business manager would call me. Never received a call. Believe me I will continue to work on this. DO NOT TRUST THE INSURANCE VERIFICATION WITH THIS OFFICE. ALSO THEY OVERCHARGE MANY SERVICES. For example, the PO ( oral sedation) charge is 495, most other offices charge 100!!! Would be nice if business manager returned my call! read more

AVOID AT ALL COSTS! You've been warned. The dentist was actually great but the financing part was horrible. In the beginning, they gave me an estimate with my insurance for the dental procedure. Seemed pricey but I knew I had good dental insurance. So I paid the estimated balance anyway. Apparently their estimate was 3 times what my insurance allowed and I had to pay the balance. Sure, you could say it was my fault since I don't know much about dental insurance. Guess what, this office should KNOW dental insurance and should have given me a more accurate estimate. So either they give you a bogus estimate or they don't know how much insurance pays out. Either way, in the end you will pay for it and it might take almost a year for them to tell you so.
