My experience with Advanced Sleep Medicine was much more pleasant than expected. I imagined a hospital-type set-up, with the adjustable bed and being surrounded by monitors. But I was pleasantly surprised by the accommodations. It was more like a nice hotel room! Comfy bed, night stand, WiFi, and TV. There was even fans and heaters to help you sleep. My technician, Missy, was awesome. Very sweet and knowledgeable. She was very professional and efficient, especially when placing all of the wires. She was very attentive to all of my needs. Overall, an easy experience. I just wish that there were showers to use in the morning! read more

Last night was my first time participating in a sleep study. The facility was clean, warm, comfortable and welcoming... getting comfortable and ready for sleep was not an issue whatsoever. The highlight of my overnight stay was the sleep center's technician, Missy. She was friendly, thorough and clearly explained each stage of the set-up for the study, key events during the study and wrapping up during the next morning. Many thanks to Missy for being such a great host and making a first-time sleep study patient feel comfortable and welcome. I really didn't want to do this, but when TWO doctors with different specialties strongly suggested it, I finally gave in. This was a MUCH better experience than I expected. First of all the room is lovely and comfortable with a queen bed, nightstand, dresser and chair. Also, a flatscreen tv and remote. Certainly not the Ritz Carlton, but very nice. And the bed was quite comfortable. I slept very well, which surprised me. The facility was very clean. I was patiently hooked up to sleep monitors by Josh, the technician. A word about Josh - he is very professional, knowledgeable, friendly and kind. Very detailed and helpful. He is a prize. I haven't gotten my results yet but it's only been 4 days. If it takes 2 months, like some reviews below, I will come back and revise my review. read more

Avoid this company at all costs! They do not care about you as a customer at all. It takes repeated calls for them to do anything simple like faxing information to your doctor or setting up an appointment. They claim they will call you but I have never received a call from them. You have to do all the work. I did a sleep study over a month ago and they still have not sent out my results even though they said it would only take 7-10 business days. I've called them repeatedly and each time they say that they'll have the results sent out tomorrow but it never happens. I have no clue if my doctor will ever get my sleep study results from this place. Save yourself a huge hassle and go somewhere else, even if it's farther away. read more

I was referred here because I changed insurance companies and was required to update my CPAP settings. This location is clean, quiet, easy to find with google maps. Missy (the sleep technician) was very sweet and kind in getting all the sensors attached. Her interactions during the complete study was efficient and pleasant. This is the worst company ever!! I don't like going off of reviews, but I should have listened to all the reviews on here. It's been almost a 2 month process and I am still not done. Calling them is a nightmare, it takes about 20 mins to get a hold of someone if you are lucky. There have been a few reps that were ok, but most were incompetent, clueless and provided no help whatsoever even when asking basic questions. The only person I like from this company is the nurse/specialist that works in Thousand Oaks location. I forgot his name but was in the military or navy, and was great! Complete and utter incompetence! 1) Called twice to schedule an appointment and nobody answered the phone. 2) Emailed them requesting a return call to schedule an appointment, no reply. 3) Finally got an appointment and when I got there, they were totally unprepared. I got scheduled to pick-up my take-home sleep study kit from this facility weeks before today, my pickup day. Somebody then called me this morning to verify if I'm coming, and I did verify with a live person. Then, 5 minutes before their customer service end time of 6pm, I got a voicemail that my appointment is cancelled. How can they cancel something in which I'm just picking up equipment and which they verified just today?? I had to make the necessary sleeping arrangements, worked later than usual to pick up this device near my work (they have a specific pickup time at night). They did not even give an explanation. Had my first sleep study here and the process was extremely easy. My physician submitted the request and I received a call to schedule an appointment within a couple of days. The gentlemen that called was detailed and emailed me instructions and my appointment time. I had to reschedule due to illness and the scheduling on the phone was fast and easy again and I received a follow up email again with the confirmation. I've never had a problem with anyone answering my emails, returning a phone call or getting back to me when they said they would. The location itself was easy to find and the technician made me feel comfortable and asked several times if I had any questions during the process. read more

Aside from my usual inability to sleep, I also have trouble sleeping in new places - this was an exception. Despite having all the wires attached to me, the bed was still very comfortable, and they even had fans in the room for me to use (I like to sleep in a colder environment). Also a very clean room! The lab technician was the nicest lady ever - she joked around with me as we were getting set up and really put me at ease. She even explained the various functions of the study, asked why my Doctor and I wanted to go through with this, and how it could potentially help. Very informative! read more

I've been to this location twice. First time was to diagnose the severity of my sleep apnea, and the second time to determine the proper setting for my CPAP machine. With both visits, the location was easy to get to with plenty of parking, the technician was very professional with set up and how she communicates with you, the rooms were clean and private with black out curtains, and the beds were very comfortable. The facility is top notch and would recommend to anyone with any sleep disorders. read more

If you are looking to have a sleep study done, don't even attempt to call this place. It's been a month or more now and I have been doing all of the calling. I first went to their website to request that someone contact me. Half a week goes by so I call the 800 number myself. They provided instructions to fax a referral letter from my doctor. The letter was faxed twice but they don't receive it so they provided an email address. It was emailed once more and faxed again. I don't hear back from the sleep center so I call back myself to find out what is happening. They tell me that it was received and they will submit it to my insurance company. I should hear back in a few days. Two weeks have now past and no one has called me. I also refuse to call them back at this point. I have done all of the legwork myself and not one single time within the month that I have been working on this has anyone called me back. I am literally falling asleep behind the wheel everyday driving home from work and this place doesn't have the decency to call patients back. I can say for a fact that this isn't just my situation. My husband has been trying to get an appointment as well and he has never received a call back. Our doctor has sent his letter to this sleep center four times and they told him that he would receive a call once the letter comes through. We are now just running our own experiment to see how long it will take them to contact us. We have already found another sleep center. If I wait for them, I might be dead soon from falling asleep at the wheel. Luckily, this is the first review so that people can be forewarned. If you have a real issue and you need help, find another center that will actually call you. There are plenty of places out there that care about patient and customer service enough to call you back. The technician, Missy was extremely professional and calming. She made an experience I was apprehensive and nervous about actually pleasant. She explaIned everything in detail and has a soothing personality. The facility was well maintained and the bedding quite comfortable. My husband also had a sleep study done there and had a positive experience. The phone personnel are also courteous and accommodating, especially when both my husband and myself needed to reschedule appointments. I do not reccommend this place to anyone. I rather pay out of pocket for better service. Its been 4 months since my dr. Submitted the request. Never got a call from them to notify me of the process. I would give them a call to see whats holding up the process and they couldnt give me an answer they said i had to reach my assigned agent n not to mention the time they make you wait before they pick up your call 15 to 20 minutes..Really?? They finally called me in July to schedule a pick up equipment for a home test in Aug.. why so far out? I took the test and they scheduled me to return the equipment the next day at the same time as pick up 8:45 p.m. now i have to wait 7-10 days to receive my results. Why that long? Results are uploaded to computer as soon as you return the equipment. Now because of them i am suffering and cant get the care i need. I have called to get a copy of my results and they tell me that they cant do anything about it they have process and protocal.. they are so rude in and talk you like you are some type of idiot.. Please please dont use this place. The only reason they are getting 1 star is because the nurse onsite was very helpful.. read more

If at all possible, avoid using this group and especially at this location. I understand their sole purpose is to do sleep studies so their hours of business are not traditional - 8:30pm to 6:30am. When I was able to schedule my at home sleep study, I had to pick it up at 8pm. So far so good even though the receptionist/office tech didn't seem to understand my questions or effectively communicate with me. The problems began when I was scheduled to return the product. When I arrived at the office at 8:10 (I was running late since my drop off time was 8pm) the office was closed and lights off. A woman had been waiting there for them to open and informed me she just got off the phone that they would be cancelling all their appointments for that night because the tech had a family emergency - totally understandable. The problem I have with this is I didnt get a call from them until 8:30 letting me know this. They should have called me right away. Because of the non-traditional business hours, I'm unable to take it back during the week because of other events I have scheduled. They allow me to return the product at 9am on one of the following days which isnt ideal but doable. I arrive at the office right before 9am and the office is closed. I call them to ask what the deal is since one of the phone reps assured me I could drop it off at 9am. they tell me that no one is able to come by. It's been twice now that they have failed to have someone there for me to drop off the sleep study. I now have to rearranged my business plans so I can go tonight and drop it off at 8pm. I made it a point to work around their schedule when I was to pick up and drop off the study. Now because their failure to be professional I have to move around what I had already plan for a month. This sleep study place in Thousand Oak, CA was just horrible. I notified the sleep study physician that i needed a t.v. in order to sleep so she moved me to another room since the original did not have a working t.v. in it. The other room was horrible t.v still did not work. The bed was uncomfortable it squeaked alot. I was not able to fall asleep until almost 3:30am due to no t.v.. The only way i fell asleep was because i had to use my data to watch netflix on my phone.I woke up in so much pain in my back and neck due to bed being not the type of bed you would want to lay in. I was supposed to be out of there by 6:30am. I woke up at almost 8:30am to find the physician asleep in the other room. This place is not the type of place you would want to have the sleep study done at!!! Just horrible. This was my first time having a sleep study and what a horrible experience it was!!! I would not recommend the Thousand Oaks Advance Sleep Study facility to have a study done at. I should have just walked out when I didnt feel comfortable there!!! The rooms smelled of mildew.
