Today we left in time to make it to appointment, but due to traffic, a car wreck and other unnecessary bs, we were late. I called to tell them I was on my way but would be a bit late. When arriving I stood in their office at the window to be checked in while 7 office workers laughed and joked around for a while before anyone noticed I was waiting. Then I was told I missed my appointment. Too bad. This office has gone down hill since Dr Eugene Fung left. The new doctor doesn't even introduce himself to 30+ year patients. We see subordinates only. I'm gonna find a new hopefully caring doctor and office personnel who will appreciate those of us paying for these $65,000 per year shots plus extra proliea shots and meds courtesy of our insurances and out of pocket payments. They don't care!

I called multiple times for pre-operative instructions and was told that they would call me the day before the procedure to go over that. Turned out I needed to stop talking a medication three days before, according to their anesthetist, despite having multiple procedures this year at Scott & White in College Station, without any mention of this need. Today I arrived for my appointment and because they've stopped taking cash, they told me to call the business office to get a same day financial waiver so that I could pay the copay once I deposited my cash. The business office told me they couldn't help me unless the appointment was made the same day. It took ten minutes to get a person on the phone, and then they hung up on me, so I had to call again. By the time I got to the person who was supposed to be able to help, it was my appointment time. So I scrambled to try to get someone to send me the money to pay electronically, but it was too late. I've waited three months for this specialist visit, and driven two hours to get here. Plus, I have insurance, which they were charging my insurance company over $300 for the visit. So they would rather have an empty appointment slot and receive $0 than make an accommodation and get me in to see the doctor. Save yourself the added stress and raised blood pressure and just go to Houston. The doctors are better and the office staff actually act like they care just a little bit.

I said "But Dr. Epsys nurse told me to just show up with my sample and drop it off before 9AM." They said there was nothing they could do and that they needed an order from the doctor. I called my drs office and nobody would answer the phone, so I couldnt get answers right away. I left and considered my time and money wasted(the money I spent for my dr appointment). I found out later when I did finally reach somebody at my drs office to get answers as to what happened, they said that the "order" was already in the plastic bag with my sample cup. The lab didnt even mention that the order would be in my bag lol, so I didn't know what they were talking about when they asked if I had an "order". Usually these dr orders would be in their computer which is forwarded to them from said drs. office. This was a big miscommunication and a waste of time.

The wait is long, and the atmosphere here is negative. I believe my husband can get better care somewhere else, but this is covered by insurance and because of his issue, he cannot travel far and this is the closest place we can go to. Due to the persistent pain, I was unable to sleep, think or do much of anything but lay in bed, growing more depressed everyday. I can't explain it, but I honestly began to feel better on the drive home from her office that day.The next morning I woke up and took my dogs for a walk in the morning and after dinner. I hadn't walked my dogs in months due to the pain. It's been 2-3 weeks since my first visit to Dr. McReynold's and in those weeks I have gotten my business back up and running as well as my household and my life. I have an occasional day here and there where I have some pain, but it's much less severe and it does go away after a while. I have also lost 2 lbs after being hopelessly stuck for years.
