I meant to write this review months ago but life happens, you get busy and other things fill your…read moremind. Let me say off the bat that I highly recommend Natural Health Center in Calabash. Their tenet is "A Gathering Place for Spirit, Mind and Body", and that certainly rings true. There is an immediate sense of love and calm when you walk in. I popped into the center a few years ago and owner Susan greeted me and gave me some information. There was no hard sell to try the treatments or the many products on the shelves. She took me for a tour and described the services they offer. I booked a consultation with Susan, and she advised me to bring in the vitamins I was taking for review. She really took the time to answer all my questions, It was very thorough consultation. She muscle-tested me for each vitamin, and we learned there were a couple in the bunch that my body was not calling for. The consultation came with a complimentary treatment and I chose the LED Light Therapy. I had been having issues with the left side of my body from my shoulder to my wrist and after 6 months wasn't getting any better. I actually felt a marked difference after just one treatment I decided to go for the package of 10. By the time I got to the end of my 10, the difference was dramatic!. During that time, I also injured my knee to the point I couldn't put any pressure on it. My friend took me in (had to use crutches) and after the treatment I could limp out without the crutches! Since they have 3 pads and can treat 3 body parts in each session, for the remaining sessions they placed one on my knee and 2 on my left arm, and all continued to improve. The treatment was working so well I ordered another round of 10. The reason I am finally taking the time to write this today is, I had a fall and twisted that same knee. I hadn't been in in a while because of, well life, and also because my body was no longer screaming at me! Again after that one treatment I felt so much relief on my knee. I'm sitting here feeling so blessed I knew I had to finally stop and write this review. I have not yet tried the other treatments offered there because the LED Light therapy has been working so well for me. But at some point I would like to. Bottom line, I'm not a person to run to a Dr. unless absolutely necessary. I much prefer a more holistic approach, and am so happy and blessed to have found it close by in Natural Health Center. He increased my thyroid medicine which caused me to be very messed up with rapid heartbeat and fatigue. I had to seek out an endrocrinologist and a heart doctor for help to get back to normal. I now have fear I will go through a withdrawal from these hormones and have nowhere to turn. The communication is poor. You are told to email a particular email if you have questions (which I did because I was having bad reactions to supplements and didn't know what to do next) but those emails were not responded to. I asked if we could hold on additional treatments through the nurse one day. She told me the doctor agreed only to change his mind and discharge me through an email on Thanksgiving day. I am told that their office is growing exponentially because of COVID and "there is no time to address my needs" (I was not told this when I signed up). Yes, I emailed often because I was not getting responses and didn't know what to do next. I am the patient and consumer who is paying a large sum to get provided good care. I was instead treated like they were doing me a favor. It is ironic that he has time to respond to every review (google, healthgrades, etc) and post on his Facebook page but does not have time for a patient who trusted him.
