I have to take a few deep breaths before writing this review…read more We had Alexandria Windows come out to replace a few windows two summers ago. The communication and scheduling was lacking, so we were a little frustrated, but it didn't prepare us for the ordeal we were going to be dealing with. We live in an old house, 1920's. My husband expressed this many times, that appropriate measures would have to be taken as we had lead in our old windows and trim. I heard him over the phone as well as in person and he was assured they would take the steps necessary. The day the windows were to be replaced, my kids and I left the house. Two windows were in our daughters room, the other in our guest bedroom. One window was oriented the wrong way and still installed. The worst part was, after removing the old windows, the workers took leaf blowers out to blow debris out into the yard below and all over the rooms. My husband ran upstairs and yelled at them to stop, that once again, there was lead paint involved. They stopped and cleaned up, but not well enough. My husband wiped everything down afterwards, not trusting it was cleaned properly. A few months later, my daughter received test results showing elevated levels of lead in her blood. It was quick and not a single other person in our family had any detectable levels. I was livid. I'm still livid. I don't care that one of our windows is wrong or that it took forever to arrange communication. I'm livid that lead safe practices weren't followed as promised and my child had to pay for it. You can't put a price on that. Thankfully, she's grown, and the situation is under control now, but if you have an old house, I would absolutely not recommend this company. To the owner, if your business gives homeowners your word that things will be done safely and following safe standards, you need to follow through. Safety should be top priority. This could have had a very poor outcome.

When the customer service representative (csr) subsequently telephoned me, I was advised that both my husband and I would be required to be present. I let them know this was unnecessary, I am financially responsible for renovations, and we discussed this. I was told that the appointment would not take place without both of us, so I cancelled the estimate. We are not in the 1960's any longer, I have heard that women are allowed to make decisions. They even work outside the home, imagine that. This company has lost a potentially valued customer, since I am looking to replace most of the windows and doors in my home.

Instead of replacing all the windows around the house like all the window selling people are telling us, Rob offered to fix the windows for a much better pricing. We are so happy with the result we asked them to remodel our three bathrooms. Again, their quote was better than the other 8 companies we compared with. Their timing and flexibility was better as well! Throughout the process of bathroom remodeling, they were extremely helpful, accommodating and easy to work with. From picking tiles and helping us with the pickup (usually pretty expensive), to going out of their ways to seal cracks for us on the wall and hanging paintings for my mom. They even offered to walk my dog when they were working with us. They are excellent at what they do. See images for the before and after of the bathrooms. We love our 3 bathrooms now. They were able to accommodate everything we asked them too. Including changing old electric outlets, adding a shower in the guest bathroom, and switching the vent to a heated vent. They even helped to fix my kitchen sink that a plumber failed after trying for 3 days! They are also honest people. I did notice a cracked window and Rob immediately ordered a new one and covered the cost. So they do honor their warranty on their work. Overall, would highly recommend them for their excellent work, very fair pricing, and being such good nature people!

This in response to Robert asking to have the review removed. I will cite one example and then you can make up your own mind. A major beam in our sun room was screwed in incorrectly by Roberts people. The beam fell from the ceiling hitting another contractor. Thank god the contractor wasn't injured.

Windows came in and were installed by the most professional team of guys that we ever encountered. We are more that Happy with our Re Windowed home and the value was also better than the other companies. I now have a Bay window with no leaks and also a front picture window with Casements on both ends that allow breeze thru living room. One very Happy Customer! Chuck S

Horrible customer service will never, ever ever answer you or call you back. You won't hear from them at all. We got windows and a roof from them. They came in, did the rough first. Didn't replace any plywood. Ruf is super spongy charged us for the plywood. But then said we didn't need it, then said they didn't even charge us for the plywood. Even though it's in the contract now, fast forward 2 months, our windows are finally in and now they want to contact us about the roof because they're not coming in my house until they fix my roof so now they've cost me 1 day. Take a day off because I wanna be here for when they're doing the roof to make sure they're doing it right. Because, of course. They need a babysitter to hold their fucking hand calls Monday morning or material are not in okay well then, why did you even want to make an appointment when the material wasn't in to begin with? And you had no clue when the material was coming in and the worst part is, they said they had to order plywood. Well, there's a home depot down the road. There's a minerage down the road. There's avc roofing supply company 5 miles down the road, but of course not they have to reschedule. So now that's 2 days, they've cost me
