I was recently referred to Dr. Epelman Dorra for a root canal. Having had at least 3 prior root canals I feel qualified to provide an honest review. I thought her skill and ability to be above average. She is using very up-to-date equipment and is sensitive to the possibility her patient might be feeling discomfort. She was very careful to minimize any initial pain with those first injections. I give her an A grade for that. I would definitely recommend her for anyone needing a root canal. read more

Root Canal!!?! Oh no! Well, OK, This must come to everyone's mind when they get this dreadful diagnosis. Well, if Dr Dorra is your dentist, you have no need to worry! I immediately liked her, during the consultation. She was, kind , patient, funny and relateable. She was especially sympathetic in my situation as, my needing a root canal was the result of my tooth being damaged in an accident. Having had a root canal before, I wasn't excited about re-living that painfull experience. I honestly believed that my experience with Dr. Dorra would be different. When I read her credentials, I was even more convinced. After the consultation she prescribed medication to prep me for the upcoming procedure, scheduled for rthe following week. She also reassured me that the procedure would improve my situation and was nothing to worry about. On the day of the procedure, with wobbly knees, I went in. Both Dr. Dorra and her assistant made me so comfortable. During the procedure the doctor explained the process and constantly checked in with me. Whiile I'm no dentist, I felt that she was very thorough in prepping my tooth, checking in intervals with x-rays and giving me follow up care guidelines. I felt no pain during the procedure and went back to work afterwards. Here it is a day later and I remain pain free. I am obligated to write this review for others, who may be seeking the administrative assistance from this practice. I have been having a very high level of difficulty with regard to getting a refund from the practice, or in that fact, having the Manager return my calls or discuss any issues. I've been told the Manager will call me back over a week! I'm told it's because the files are in a different office yet they don't bother to simply calling the office to resolve the customer issue. I find this practice to be totally unprofessional and unacceptable. Hopefully I will get the refund that is due to me, but just be cautious in the future regarding any payments or refunds due to you from the company. They are slow to resolve billing issues and in some cases avoid dealing directly with the customer to ensure satisfaction. I personally do not recommend this practice! read more

This doctor is not a good person and her staff are even worse. She had me sit in for a consultation to go over pain in a tooth that already had been treated for a root canal. Dr. Epelman went ahead and charged me for a consultation and CT Scan only to tell me she saw no visible signs of a canal that was untreated or left without treatment. She charged me over $300 for the visit plus fees for the CT Scan only to not diagnose anything and tell me the pain could be from the tooth behind the one that was giving me issues. She is not the right fit for an endodontist and should be sent back into training or some kind of program where they can evaluate and read CT scans better, since my new endodontist clearly saw the fourth canal in the same CT scan. The new endodontist performed the retreatment fine, but it is a shame that Dr. Epelman charged me for a consultation and CT scan only to tell me my pain was coming from the tooth behind tooth #3 Moler, when it obviously was coming from tooth #3. It's a disturbing pattern i've seen with other patients that have stepped foot into her office. Theres nothing nice about this dental clinic besides the building it resides in. Dr. Epelman is very very inexperienced. I would not trust her to do a root canal or any other dental procedure. She didn't even have the wits or knowledge to distinguish between images of roots on a CT scan. I have no expertise in dentistry and could see the fourth canal when my new endodontist zoomed in on the image. It's a shame she's able to get away with charging me for consultations and CT scans only to recommend that I get a root canal in the tooth behind tooth #3 when that is flagrantly false. read more

Beautiful building! I had come here years before but it was a different doctor. I was very sad to see he wasn't still there because he was amazing. I have nothing but good things to say about the endodontist and the assistant who was in the room with her, very nice and friendly. The assistant even offered me some pastries and juice before seeing the doctor which was nice. I had a root canal and everything went well. It wasn't until later I found out the bite was too high and that was what was causing me pain but once my dentist drilled it down, I felt fine. But I wouldn't blame this on the endodontist because she did ask me how the bite felt when grinding my teeth I just didn't know at the moment because half my mouth was numb, but she was great. The two reasons I did not give 5 stars was because 1. The place is kind of pricey (hence the beautiful building) even with insurance 2. The lady at the front desk is RUDE. She is the one who comes in and tells you how much everything is going to be and is just very cold and short. I asked why the procedure was so expensive because last time I went there I paid $300 and now it was almost $700, and she said "it is what it is, do what you want." I then told her "i am obviously going to get the procedure I just wanted to know why the price changed" and she was like "okay I'll tell the doctor you're ready" and walked out. It's unfortunate they have such a rude person at the front desk because she is the first and last impression you get from this office and she makes you forget all the positive things. read more

I just had my first (and hopefully last) root canal today and WOW, I'm surprised to say that it was an amazing experience. I went to my regular dentist yesterday because I burned my upper gumline after eating something hot... I never expected to have my dentist tell me that I needed to see a specialist because I may need a root canal! The next day, (today) I went to see Dr. Epelman for a consultation and second opinion. The building is very nice and the office was clean and comfortable. I was an hour early so I sat and read a few magazines while the very nice receptionist called my insurance. Once I was called back they did a few X-rays. Afterwards, Dr. Epelman came in and before she even fully entered the room she saw my X-rays and saw how severe my cavity was (tooth #2). She was EXCELLENT!!! She explained everything very thoroughly, explained my options, and made me feel heard. I start nursing school in a week so I told her this caught me off guard and that I hope she can do it soon so I'm healed before my classes start.... she said she'd do it for me right that moment! I was shocked! 15 mins later I was explained my insurance benefits, signed a few papers, and was numbed up. The root canal went so smoothly!!! I had extensive decay (I've never had tooth pain so this was a shock) but she finished it all in an hour WHILE explaining everything to me along the way (I love to learn new things and hear rationales)... I have to applaud Dr. Epelman because she is truly a master at what she does and she has a big heart. If you need a root canal, PLEASE see her! Thank me later! Thank God I burned my gums because if I hadn't I never would've known that I had a mega cavity lol. Thank you Dr. Epelman!!! P.S. I've had zero pain since the procedure and it was 8 hours ago... This office took 2 days and close to 4 hours to perform a root canal - and placed my credit standing in jeopardy to boot. I went to my dentist, who determined that I needed the procedure done as soon as possible. They helped me find the closest location, as I have a number of disabilities and can't drive far. When I first arrived, they appeared to be helpful and understanding. Appearances are deceiving, as they took advantage of the terrible pain I was in and pressured me into applying for one of their credit plans - without telling me it would set me back close to $115 per month. Anyone that's on social security knows that could force a person to choose between lifesaving medications or food or rent. They gave me 2 minutes to make this decision before the endodontist had to move on, so I signed an ineligible piece of paper, given to me by the front desk person, whose comnand of the English language was severely lacking. She would later loudly claim that she explained everything to me in detail. It was blatantly obvious that she had participated in this scam before. The first endodontist was unable to finish the job, and after about 2 hours called it off. She left the nerves covered only by a piece of cotton and a bit of dental gum. I was told to come back the next morning to see a doctor who also worked there. Under duress, this doctor ultimately finished the work - she wasn't going to complete the work because it was started by someone else. This, after they took my money and advantage of my situation and disability. Stay far away from this place. read more
