I have no hesitation in giving this company five stars, and I will recommend it to anyone I know looking for a driver testing facility (we didn't take segment 1 or 2 here). It is difficult to find quality driving skills instructors. It was a little more costly ($60) than some of the other places in the Wayne County area, but so worth it. First off, signing up to take the driving skills test could not have been easier. It is all online, and all available dates, times and instructors are listed so you can choose exactly the time and who you would like to administer the test. My son had a drive with Mr. Don Stimmel this morning, and although my son was quite nervous, Mr. Stimmel immediately put him at ease with his friendliness and empathetic behavior. (Side note: we arrived a few minutes early, and not only was Mr. Stimmel on time, he was early as well, so we were able to start a few minutes early.) Also, it was a cold morning and I am in a cast with a broken ankle, and Mr. Stimmel allowed me to sit in his warm car during the parking part of the test. He patiently explained each part of the parking test to my son, and was very encouraging when he did well. It definitely made the start of the drive go very smoothly. Mr. Stimmel also gave very easy to understand instructions to my son with plenty of time to safely perform any maneuvers during the driving test. After the drive was completed, Mr. Stimmel very kindly explained the entire route to my son, giving constructive criticism and advice where he felt my son needd to work on. I felt that his only goal was to make my son a safe driver, and my son echoed my feelings after we left. I don't know if the instructors read reviews, but I would like to thank Mr. Stimmel for making what could be a very intimidating and stressful experience into a great learning experience! read more

8/9/11 I had a private drive with the company and the gentleman that stepped in to take me last minute was very kind. We had easy conversation and we spent my entire hour practicing parking. He showed me tricks to remember while taking your test and all of the anxiety of the test was taken away. After I practiced, I knew exactly what to do for my test and I understood everything a lot more. 8/12/11 I had my road test given by the owner, Leonard, and I had previously taken two more tests through the company. When I failed the first two, it was purely my fault as I didn't know how to park. Both men were kind in that they helped me understand what I did wrong before I left. They don't set you up to fail, they just want you to do well here. I can tell they want you to succeed. I went on to pass my third time with the help of the private drive. I absolutely reccomend this place. You wouldn't want your kid going somewhere that the instructor's don't care or they're rude as learning how to drive is scary enough. Very satisfied with ADA. The staff are all extremely welcoming, helpful, and the instructors clear and informative. Coach Schemanske helps keep the material from getting too dry by shaking it up with some educational kahoot games and some alternative activities like crossword puzzles/ games rather than just pure notes and lecture. He has a more traditional no nonsense teacher mentality but makes for some entertaining class periods. He is a nice guy, and even gave out free pops and waters one time. They really work on cranking out safe, careful drivers: a quality institution rather than a run of the mill, generic "get your license and go" driver's ed. I feel so much more comfortable on the road knowing the things I learned in this class. The classes also prepare you extremely well for the written exams; if you pay attention in class and maybe look over the notes a couple times at home, you're golden! The road test process is also very smooth, and the examiners are super friendly, and do their best to help calm teens' nerves - love that! Highly recommend. read more

So,my husband chose this Advanced Driving Academy and I started to learn here. We booked a private driving lessons on-line . The people who work for this company very kind and friendly. They're very professional in their job. I was so happy to study here. I want to thank my teachers . These guys are the best. They had a lot of patience with me. I truly appreciate the owner very much for all aspects. He is very professional, responsible and well prepared to handle the current COVID-19 situation. They are taking a very serious approach to protect the students and themselves. The owner and instructors are very patient and point out a student's mistakes carefully without humiliating them. The pricing is well worth the investment as they have newer model Buick and GMC SUVs as training vehicles. I attended ADA years ago and had a great experience. Yes, they are strict but the rules are clear, fair, and simple. Compared to friends of mine who went elsewhere for drivers ed, ADA goes above and beyond. Since it is owned by former law enforcement, I felt like I could trust the instructors and benefited from their personal experience. While they are straightforward, they are also personable and encouraging. Just because they have rules does not make them rude. I felt like they cared about my safety and helping me pass the written and driving test. I would HIGHLY recommend ADA if you want to be a safe, well-informed driver. read more

DO NOT TAKE YOUR CHILD TO THIS DRIVING ACADEMY!!! This owner is a retired police officer. This is a SCAM!!! My son is 18 years old. I paid $95 for him to take the driving test and the first instructor said that all he needed to do was look over his shoulder. Reschedule. We did that. He said all he needed to do was 10 more hours of driving. Great driver. So we appeared after we paid another $85 to retake the test and the OWNER said he was driving too slow to get on and off the freeway. Which one is it??? This place is a rip-off do not pay any money to take your child there. Their goal is to take your money!!! read more

I can't believe how much ADA did to accommodate my son with his driving schedule. I can now understand the cost factor in rearranging drives. We had a family emergency out of state, the ADA staff went out of their way work with us, so that my son could finish his 2 missed classes as well as his drives. They taught my daughter everything that she needed to know to get her license. They were very thorough, and even though we ran into some scheduling problems in the beginning, they cooperated with us to work them out. This is a good and responsible driving school especially for teenagers to learn not only how to drive but also how to drive safely.
