Stay far away from this place! First off, Dr. Daniel is a young one who always looked like he just smoked a pound of weed before he came into work. He's very ditzy and out there and seems like he has no idea what he is doing. He gave my daughter too much numbing medication and she had a strong reaction to it. Her hands cramped up, she was white as a ghost and he says "you're just messing with me". When it was clean she was not, he said "I might have gave her too much, I'll put it in the chart not to give her that much next time". You would think a DOCTOR would know better. Then I get something from my insurance company saying they're denied something which was weird since it covered everything. I found out they were trying to take on bogus charges hoping the insurance company wouldn't even look and just pay it. That is a scummy, scammy move! they've gone downhill and it's a shame. The cussing and loud conversation and loud music from workers is so unprofessional and embarrassing. I didn't mind traveling from far away to be seen here because it was always a good experience. Not anymore. The chair was dirty the glasses were not cleaned off from the previous patient and the assistant didn't wear a mask. I cleaned the glasses with a bleach wipe after I washed them with water. I opened a new pack of cups and poured fresh listerine into the cup- they had a cup of listerine waiting for me but I didn't trust it because I had to clean the dental chair and the goggles they give you to wear. I definitely must find a professional clean establishment for dental work. This is no longer the place. I will never return or recommend this place again! read more

I went here twice but I shan't be going back. After moving into our area I had trouble finding a new dentist. My old one closed due to COVID. After looking for a few months off and on I found this place. They accepted my insurance and were willing to take on new patients! So I called up and scheduled an appointment. My appointment was just for a check up and teeth cleaning. I went over there. The check in was fine. I filled out everything and answered questions. It's a little bit confusing because there was a lot going on and it wasn't quiet in there. Staff interrupted the front desk person a lot. So I get in the chair and wait a bit. Someone comes in takes a look. Then they start trying to tell me to get Invisalign. I'm like no. I don't need that. It's too expensive. They say that they can give me a quote or check with my insurance blah blah. I'm still a hard pass. So then they are like ok you still want your teeth cleaned? Yes. That's why I came here. Teeth cleaning went fine. I get up front and they was to talk Invisalign again. This time it was easier to shut down. So we make another check up appointment for 6 months. A month or two later I get something in the mail that looks like a bill from them. It states the cost for Invisalign after the amount my insurance would cover. I ignored it because I'm not getting Invisalign. Finally my appointment rolls around and they call to remind me. When the guy calls though he tells me they don't accept my insurance there. I can still come in but it will be as an uninsured patient. So I'm confused. The only reason I started going there was because they said they took my insurance. AND WAIT... didn't my insurance cover the last visit?! Yes it did. So anyway I was like you can just take me off the schedule. He acted confused and I'm like well if you don't accept my insurance than I'll use a different dentist. Some more things were said and I don't know if we ended up agreeing or disagreeing. 2 stars Bc the folks that work here (minus the dentist and someone who works the front desk) are incredibly kind and hard working and made me reconsider posting a negative review. But I am posting it because I don't want anyone else to be in this situation, one that was going to screw my insurance for no reason and put me in pain. I have great teeth, always have taken extremely good care of them, flossing, brushing, etc. so when the first thing the dentist tells me is that I have 4 cavities and I need to fill them, I was shocked. (I've never had even one) They blamed it on me forgetting to brush ONCE before bed (that's never even happened, I know, I'm crazy about brushing). Then, the dental tech, again really kind, used the water pick on my teeth, well really just my front bottom teeth. I came out of it with the side of my face feeling like I went on a not-so-fun water ride, I was soaked. I asked a few questions about using my water pik and my new manual toothbrush at home, and the tech had no idea Bc 'I don't use them myself.' When I left it felt like nothing had been done, I still had my normal build up, but my lower front teeth were kind of clean... and my gums hurt! I still made the follow up appts Bc I thought it's important to trust the dentist as they see things I do not. I have the privilege of getting a 2nd opinion based on my insurance so I went to my old home dentist out of state who I hadn't visited in 6 years and truly trust. They told me that the dentist didn't tell me the truth and that I don't have 4 cavities, just some grooves and a small hole that just needed replacement silver filling. Can you imagine if I hadn't gotten a 2nd opinion what they could have done unnecessarily to my mouth?! And how many others have had that done?! When I called to cancel both my filling appt and my 6 month, the person who answered just said hello? And I had to ask if it was actually the dentist, super unprofessional. He didn't ask why I was cancelling, didn't ask me to reschedule, nothing. Glad I won't be going back and I do NOT recommend you go either. read more

Please don't make an appointment here! I lost the first filling the day of the appointment, and over the next few months all of my fillings fell out. When I told them what happened they said I might be grinding my teeth in my sleep and were very pushy trying to get me to buy a $300 mouth guard. How is it that my step dad has had his fillings of 50 years, but mine fell out right after they were put in? I have always had healthy teeth.I started out with a few small cavities, but I believe they over drilled and now I have HUGE BLACK HOLES IN MY TEETH! During the appointment, I felt like I was being water boarded as I laid back with my mouth pried open for 3 HOURS(the same happened to my mother during her visit)! Dr. Jasmine performed the quickest, laziest teeth cleaning I've EVER experienced. It took longer in the wait room and xrays than the cleaning. After spending an hour and a half waiting (after conversing with the receptionist trying to explain that my insurance coverage was accepted), I was finally seen. Dr. Jasmine literally sprayed my teeth with the waterpik, put some flouride on with the spin brush and out the door I went. But not before the guy at the front desk tried to put me on notice that I needed a filling and that my insurance didn't cover it. But I wasn't there for a filling nor did the Dr. say one was needed!? I had to brush my teeth after I got home, that's how bad the cleaning was. My electric toothbrush at home did a better job! Run, don't walk AWAY from this place. Had a deep cleaning done here. Some dentists skimp out on equipment and they spend an hour + picking at your teeth during a cleaning. Not here! First impressions are lasting impressions. And cleanliness is next to godliness. My first and last visit at the office on Germantown Avenue was very disappointing. Upon entering the office, I stepped on a nasty, ratty, dirty looking welcome mat. Against my better judgement, I went in the office and completed my application. Soon after, I was called into a room that was not clean. The room was dusty, dingy and needed a paint job. I spotted a spiderweb in the corner and wondered just how clean their dental tools were. After some thought, I decided to leave the office without having my teeth cleaned. Well, to my surprise, Advanced Dental Designs submitted a bill to my insurance provider for services that were NEVER performed. They labeled the charge as "an emergency dental treatment." Keep in mind NO services were performed. Fortunately, my insurance carrier saw through their scam and denied payment to them. Please know what your dental coverage provides and avoid this office at all cost. read more

This experience has been very disappointing. They told me they needed approval from my insurance company before making my dentures and it would take up to 3 weeks. I waited the three weeks and they called me and told me that my claim was denied. I called my insurance company to find out why and they told me that the x-rays were mislabeled. Who does that this is their business I'm sure I am not the first client to get dentures and need pre-approval. After they finally get the pre-approval three weeks later I come in to have my denture molds done. They then sell me an upgrade. And tell me my dentures would be ready in two weeks. I come back for the appointment and my dentures are not there and no one bothered to tell me that. We've had bad weather and snow and I made the trip for nothing. read more

Owner/manager exposed racial thoughts when trying to complete a procedure I already paid out of pocket for. I paid more than what was required for initial deposit, and covered approximately 80% of said procedure. I've been attending as a client for a few years up until this point. Given my rapport established with dentists and dental assistants, I assumed to have been communicated to with respect, at the very least. When booking my last appointment for the last installment, I asked for a payment plan. The receptionist was very kind to come up with something that was more than helpful. We agreed and set the appointment in advance. *Two hours prior to my appointment, I get a text to call in. Manager (told me his name was Swami) picks up, and tells me the payment plan cannot work for me because he doesn't trust me to pay. I asked for alternative options, given that a plan was already agreed upon and this was completely last minute. He shot down any proposal I had made, even though these options are offered to other clients. For some reason, they weren't offered to me. He then proceeds to tell me that "You don't sound like someone who would pay". This is the first time we'd spoken. I didn't raise my voice, no snarkiness involved. Just me sounding like a Black woman was enough for him to conclude I cannot pay. I didn't think in 2022, in Philadelphia, I would hear something as blatantly racist. Manager, if you are reading this: You don't belong here. If you cannot respect the community that upholds your business and places money in your pocket that aides you to take care of your bills and feed your children, then you don't belong here. This community deals with enough racists, bigots, and ignorant greedy folk who sees little value in what we bring. Poor customer service and not at all LGBT friendly staff. Got an uncomfortable feeling from the start. I'm a white woman and even though my appt was later than my black boyfriend and he made our appointments he was ignored and I was spoken to several times. His spot was for 9am and mine was 9:45am. They called me back right on time when they still hadn't even run his ID. When he asked about it they brushed him off and said they were taking people in order and no doctors were available. We knew that was not the case. He got his cards back and I didn't go back for my spot. Came online to write this and saw the other reviews...guess we should have checked here first. Seems like it all worked out and we missed a potentially harmful experience. I love coming here Jasmine is really sweet and takes her time when working on my mouth. If she thinks I'm any pain through my procedure, she stops and asked how I feel. I honestly feel like I have a friend in her. She's always professional and nice when I'm there.... The other staff are pretty cool as well. The only problem I've had is a root canal from another Dr. here and I was in pain longer than normal. Even then all of the staff has been nice, and friendly. From the moment I got there, I didn't have a good feeling about this place. it was all about the money from the get-go. I should have trusted my instinct. Dr. Patel performed a root canal. 2 months later I had pain at the same tooth. This is the first root canal I've had. Went back in and Dr. Patel said I need an implant, immediately told me there were payment plans (again, about the money) gave me a round of penicillin and now no pain. I have very good teeth and have always taken care of them. I've never been to a dentist that have I encountered this before. That didn't seem quite right. So I went to Dental Solutions, Dr. Bruno (Endodontist), they took an x-ray and a root was missed. I will have to have the procedure done all over again and my insurance doesn't cover it because each tooth is covered for 1 root canal per lifetime. You shouldn't need to have it done a SECOND time on the same tooth! Because I'm starting to have pain again I cannot wait. I originally went in for a cleaning and to have them look at the tooth they ended up performing a root canal. They never performed a cleaning (they don't make any $$$ on it). 1. I recommend Dental Solutions for your dental needs. 2. Don't go to Advanced Dental Design. You're nothing but a $$ sign. They also put in a predetermination for the implant. They were charging $4900. Dental solutions - $2700. Same procedure. You do the math. read more

After sitting there for 45mins for a follow up visit. I asked if I can reschedule my appointment because I had to pick a child up from school for a friend. The older gentleman at the first desk look at the computer and told me since I have "State Insurance" I should going to Temple or UPenn. I informed him this was a follow up and we didn't have a problem before. Also I didn't want to wait 6mths for an appointment. He said "well If we have to do more than a filling you would have to pay for it." I said ok, but you don't know that because no one has has seen me. He the proceeded to tell me that they deal with cash only. I decided to leave and not be combative. I'm sure that this review won't hurt this dental office but I want to bring awareness of how this man judged me because of my insurance and just didn't want me in his office. P.S. This was a horrible experience. I called to confirm my appointment and the procedure I was seeking. They acknowledged and told me they would see me at 12:50. Keep in mind, they have seen me before and had my information prior to my arrival. When I arrived, some man at the front desk insisted on sending me to temple to have my work done. I explained I had confirmed at 11:30 and was told they see me when I arrived. Between his broken English and blatant disregard to the fact I had just spoken to them, I walked out. He also would not allow me to speak to anyone else and stated he was the man in charge. Complete and utter disrespect for my time. I would not recommend this place to anyone. They will charge your insurance for work that wasn't performed and they allow assistants who aren't legally allowed to do cleanings to clean your teeth!! It baffles me that this dental facility would have any favorable reviews. If you want to be disrespected, treated rudely and attempted to be ripped off this is definitely the place for you. The receptionist was very unprofessional and she sure could use some charm school classes. There is also a language barrier with the front office staff and the dentists. When I arrived some of the staff was eating their lunch in plain view of the waiting room. I would think that activity should be kept out of sight from the patients. The dental insurance that I have provides me with no co-pay for a cleaning and x-rays. The receptionist demand that I pay a $50 co-pay before any of the work was done. I told them that I had no co-pay with my policy and they wouldn't except my explanation. I called the insurance company in front of them and the representative had to tell them that there was no co-pay. The insurance representative explained to me that all that information is listed on the computer under my patient profile. When I ask them why they tried to charge me a co-pay they had no answer and I was not offered and apology. So beware you might be financially taken advantage of at this dental office. My x-rays went fine, I guess it's kind of hard to screw that procedure up. As for the cleaning it was mediocre, the process was fast. I would rather have a slow and thorough cleaning than a rushed and mediocre one. Normally when you have a cleaning you walked out of the dentist feeling like you had a cleaning, that feeling wasn't there when I left this office. Going into the appointment I knew that I needed two crowns but after my horrible experience there they definitely will not be doing the work. I did do online research prior to making the appointment and since they had some favorable reviews and it was in my neighborhood, West Mount Airy I thought I would go there. Big mistake!!! As we all should know, you should not believe everything you read online. If you plan on going there I would advise you to make a personal visit prior to making the appointment and decide for yourself that this is not the place for you. read more

This facility is alright. It is very small and tight but it is big enough for you to get work done on your mouth comfortably. I took my grandmother here and she enjoyed her experience. She needed to get a couple cavities filled and the price for them under her insurance was pretty good. $20 for each filling . Sadly she is handicapped and we did not know that this facility had a wheelchair entrance until I asked . The wheelchair entrance is somewhere in the back of the facility . They should take away the steps and lower the doors to make it easier with the wheelchair travel. Its hard enough to find a parking spot on the same side as the building , now I have to find this wheelchair entrance . So far this facility has treated my grandmother nicely and we have not experienced any rude employees or dentists . read more

I had gone to this dentist for a few years and I didn't have many complaints, until I got a root canal and crown almost 2 years ago. The cost was roughly $1500 and it later became infected. Not only was it not completed correctly, I found out what a real cleaning feels like when I went to a new dentist. All these years the teeth cleaning they were doing was nothing. My review of this Dental office is mostly based on the shady way that they do business. I'll start with the positive which is that Dr Priya Patoliya is a very competent and caring dentist. I came into the office in excruciating pain and needing a root canal. It was a long process, in which I had to comeback on two separate occasions before I had my root canal complete because of an infection. Dr Patoliya was very reassuring and understanding about my anxiety and my level of pain. I would strongly recommend her. My main issue is with billing. I was given a quote of $1400 for a root canal and crown, which was not covered by my insurance. I have no issue with that, except that I had sticker shock. I reached out to Cigna Dental Plans with the hope that I would save a little money. Cigna Dental Plans confirmed that Advance Dental took part in their program and called to confirm my cost if I used Cigna, which was a significant savings. Once I signed up Advance would not honor the price that they quoted to Dental Plans but they did give me a $52 discount. So long story short, good dentist but I don't like how they do business. As a result, I won't go back and I wouldn't recommend Cigna Dental Plans, unless you like being jerked around. read more
