Can't say enough good things about Dr. Shurbaji and his staff at Advanced Dental Centers. My old dentist left me dissatisfied and I had been looking for a new dentist here in Norwood. A cracked upper molar (which subsequently chipped off) hastened that process for me, and when I called for an emergency consultation, ADC was able to accommodate me. Dr. Shurbaji looked at the damage and told me I would be OK for a week until I could fit the follow-up visit into my calendar. Dr. Shurbaji gave me two options (crown vs inlay) and estimated costs for each. I deferred the choice to him, being the expert, as the costs for each were similar. The follow-up visit was today, and after about 2 hours at the office with Dr. Shurbaji and his great assistants Jill and Lindsay, I walked out with a new & permanent CEREC inlay. http://www.advanceddentalcenters.com/cerec.html No temporary crown or anything like that. Advanced Dental Centers was great! I recently joined as a new patient! I am very picky when it comes to dentist and feel technology matters in dentistry as does the experience of the staff. As a precursor, I do my cleanings every three months, so hence I have been to two cleanings thus far. Jessica is great at cleaning your teeth! She is careful and ensures you are comfortable. Since joining as a patient, I also had the luxury of a root canal as well! Dr. Dara was great during the whole process. His ability to explain in detail the problem was great! My problem was a pesky back right molar that had an old filling. Net/net, I had to ultimately get a root canal to fix the issue. Dr. Shurbaji performed the original root canal and was very thorough to the point he was not comfortable with the x-ray and asked that I come back in to ensure the root canal was done right. Sure, I had to go in twice, but I was more impressed by the motivation to get the job done right. Dr. Dara finished the final process of the root canal and was awesome! I have met most of the staff... Jennifer, Jessica, Amy, Lindsay, Nicole, Bruan, Cassandra and Crystal are all great! I am impressed with the drive to get the job done right and ensure the patient is comfortable with the tasks at hand. I look forward to being a patient for years! read more

I received a letter stating that I was being removed from their office because of an argument with a staff member. This is not true information and this is discrimination in my opinion. I do think a lot of the staff members are childish and have behavioral issues and definitely do not act professional. Even well doing procedures I never felt fully comfortable due to the lack of communication in the office. I have tried to call them after receiving a letter and have not gotten a response back so obviously this is not going to work out but they did tell me that they were going to send me to collections when I wanted to ask questions about my bill and the bill isn't due for 30 days. the fact that they would threaten me to send over to collections on a bill not past due is wronf and then not answer questions about the bill. They went against my dental plan and didn't ask me but went ahead to give me the wrong kind of filling which obviously wasn't covered when the other type of dilling was. They did this just to make money. Even my insurance compamy agreed they have had issue with this office and doctor before. I tried to contact them again and they just didn't want to speak with me and that is not how a business should be conducted. I would stay away from Dr. Mohamad Shurbaji and his unprofessional staff. I walked in being overdue for cleanings and needing a crown from a chipped tooth from years ago. I left with healthy teeth and gums, and a professionally made crown that looks and feels like a real tooth. The staff here are extremely friendly and compassionate. I was nervous as I knew I needed some work done but they told me it was going to be alright. After a few visits they were able to complete everything and did several checks to make sure they covered all their bases. What a relief! I heard about this location from a friend and she was right... they really care about their patients and instead of being problem-oriented, they focus on a solution. My first dental visit to Advanced Dental Centers was very unfortunate, not because of the cleaning, but because of the administrative dealings. I had called weeks before my appointment to make sure that my insurance was taken to which I was told yes. The Friday before my appointment, an associate called me to remind me of my appointment on Monday and asked for my insurance information to which I provided. I showed up for my cleaning on Monday, had my cleaning done, and then found out that the dentist who accepts my insurance no longer works there. I was then unexpectedly told that I had to pay for my cleaning out of pocket! Why would you bother calling me to ask for my insurance information if you couldn't get this clarified prior to my appointment? I am very disappointed at this system. I felt that this should have been caught sooner and I should have been told about my insurance information/payment options prior to my appointment, not after the fact. There needs to be a check in place where customers are notified of insurance issues so that they don't waste their time or money at the time of their appointment. read more

The sad & shameful truth is I have not seen a dentist in, well, too many years... But a close friend of mine would not leave me alone so I finally decided to calm my nerves and just go. I chose Advanced Dental by referral. Growing up, my mother was politely asked not to return to several dental offices with her nightmare of a daughter (moi) because of the uncontrollable fits I would have as soon as I walked in the door. Yeah, yeah, every one hates the dentist, but really, I would rather have my teeth fall out than ever have to sit in a dental chair. WRONG. Because an old filling started feeling lose, and after about 10 months I couldn't fight it anymore; it was time. During my first visit I quickly expressed to Dr. Pauly & her assistant Joanne my over-the-top, super dramatic, but very real fear of the dentist. Instead of yessing me to death like I expected, they genuinely listened and assured me I would be okay. From the xrays to the little water-thingy they explained every single thing they were doing and what every individual tool was. They did such a wonderful job, I actually came back for the work [I knew] I needed. Although I was a little more fearful the second visit, I knew I was in good hands. While being extremely knowledgable and professional, both Dr. Pauly and Joanne still made me feel extremely comfortable and most importantly, safe. They explained everything, including my options for fillings, cleanings, & whitening without any sales-pushing whatsoever. My teeth look and feel great, and most importantly, I have a whole new attitude toward dental appointments thanks to Dr Pauly, Joanne, and the rest of Advanced Dental. Thank you so much! read more

This place used to be good, until he started not caring about his patients anymore. To me, he is clearly a money hungry mess that can't handle his patients, and doesnt care about the crap work he does, just about getting paid and eating! hehehe By the way, his receptionist Crystal is a b**ch! $$$ Neat clean office , Nice professional staff. Good experiences however they lack the decency of letting you know of addl charges So by the end of the day I received a bill from their collections for over 500.00 for regular services . white fillings over silver is a complete rip off these dentists try to sell you on . Like if you don't mind getting passed on from one dentist to the next just to find out they don't know where the last dentists left off . This office as well as other dentist in MA and specialists have been known for lack of educating their clients of accurate details of their bills and ridiculous rates . So you have to move on to one dentist to another until you find the honest one. Same feeling for specialists dr's . Insurance in Ma is a joke, what s the point . $$$ read more

I'm sad to say that the office manager Amanda is unprofessional completely not trustworthy and proved to be a lier , I left there crying because this women feels that she can talk to customers any way and then pretend that she did nothing. I can't begin to tell you how hurt and disrespected im feeling .My children received awesome dental work and I love my dentist , but I can not let that office think that her treatment of me is acceptable. I highly recommend Dr. Shurbaji and Advance Dental. I hadn't been to the Dentist in years and I started going there when they first opened. He promised me he would do everything he could to ease my anxiety and limit the pain and he kept his promise. He has the latest in technology and equipment, and is branching into new areas all the time. I will be utilizing the new sleep apnea mouth piece and was able to take the sleep test in my own home. If going to the dentist wasn't a joy already, I made an appointment easy enough for the following day and was told to arrive 10min early...which i did, only to be welcomed by a locked door(during regular business hours) and a piece of paper on the door that was hanging backwards which when i flipped it over said i was in the right place. Advised I was dropped from practice subsequent to my complaint against dental hygenist who administered an unsanitary cleaning.

I had a horrible experience at this office, I was patient for over 5 years and had my Invisalign treatment here. When one of my retainers broke I spoke with the office to order another one, they said it would be ready in two weeks. When I called after two weeks to see if it was ready they said they never placed the order because I did not speak with the dentist assistant about it. The office manager never told me this was required to replace it. In the mean time my teeth were moving, after spending thousands on my treatment! I asked to speak with the dentist and they would not allow me to. I had to wait two months to get the replacement from this place all due to bad office staff. I never heard from my dentist Dr. Shurbaji with an explanation either. I would not recommend anyone to go here...people in the office do not know how to do there job at all and are extremely rude. read more

My family and I are constantly being sent to collections because this sneaky gold digging facility conducts work and then tells us that they no longer carry our insurance. Absolutely misguiding office. I scheduled a cleaning appointment with them after confirming that they were covered by my insurance and I was told by the office staff that they 'accept' my insurance. Ideally i am entitled to 2 free cleanings a year. I received a statement from the office a few weeks later billing me an additional amount from what the insurance paid them. I had checked with other offices before scheduling my appointment with them and was clearly told that they were out of network and would charge me approximately so and so for cleaning. These guys never mentioned anything and I so far did not know the subtle differences between the terms 'covered' and 'accept'. I would have appreciated the office staff clarify that for me when I had questioned them about the insurance coverage. I agree with other folks who mentioned that this office is more concerned about the money they make and not about the welfare of their patients. read more
