I was visiting from out of state and clearly should've known better…read more Quite a number of students were ill mannered, disrespectful to each other and supervisors. Students were in the restroom talking negatively about the school and the directors. They were also negatively speaking about them when the directors would pass them. I should've left then. Some of the students were playing with the receptionist and having loud personal conversations up front. I should've left. The music was inappropriate. It was hard rap with XXX mature lyrics that should never be played anywhere but a strip club, but never in a place of business. I should've left. The student who was supposed to do my hair was Caucasian. She got offended when I asked if she was comfortable working with my African texture of hair. (Simple question with a yes or no answer.) She barely shampooed my Afro and didn't know how to do a simple two strand twist. (She wanted to put gel all over my hair first. Then, twist it in two strands like Celie from The Color Purple. ) I said absolutely not and asked for another person. Again...I should've left. Fortunately, another student came to the rescue and made a decent effort. This student was also Caucasian, but was clearly more comfortable with my hair and was familiar with a simple two strand twist, (although the parts were about 1-2" wide.... Have I mentioned Celie?). Eventually the directors got a clue and had a melanated student fix my hair and finish so I could leave. I left and came back with a substantial tip for that student fixing what she could before closed, and I left ASAP, heading to a well earned massage appointment. When I left, the police were sitting in the parking lot. I did not feel safe in shopping center. I was glad I had my trained security dog in the car and my personal concealed security means. I would never return or recommend this place to anyone. I had to redo half my hair when I got back to my hotel.

I was told the facility was closed on Monday but will be opened on Tuesday at 9am. I arrived at 9:20am to be told that the students were in class until 12:30pm OMG really. Wow how do you run a school and the person who answers the phone does not know the school's schedule?!! Definitely bad business and teaching for your students as I'm sure you didn't just start having classes in Tuesdays & Thursdays. Very disappointed in this school.

So, I have been going to this beauty school for several months. The people here are polite for the…read moremost part. I did have an issue with one teacher having poor problem solving skills and not being nice. But she is no longer employed here. So no more issues! My thing now is they have changed their pricing breakdown. Everything now is more expensive. I understand companies have to change with the times. Supply and demand is important. However, I have never thought it was right to charge extra for length or being natural. I feel like I'm being penalized for having hair that isn't relaxed/ permed. My service at this location used to be $15. It's now $25. A wash and flat iron is $20 and they are charging me an extra $5 for my hair not being relaxed with a chemical. At this point I can go to an actual salon with experienced licensed beauticians. Groupon always has deals on their for $25 wash and flat iron. The regular salons have better hours. At this hair school they stop taking clients at 1pm. On a positive note. My stylist gave the best shampoo I have had in a while.

I called 2 days ago for an appointment. Talked to the older lady with blond hair. She told me that she had something available for today. Went on ahead and booked the appointment (or so I thought). Got there early and patiently waited. When I signed in on the paper, the receptionist told me to go have a seat and wait. 20 minutes after my scheduled appointment (at this time I was already waiting for 45 minutes), three people had come in after me and was promptly seated with a student. So I went to the front desk to see what was going on. A tall slender young lady asked for my phone number and told me that she didn't see an appointment in the system for me. Needless to say I was a bit confused. She apologized and was able to get me seen with a student. Now the entire time I was waiting, the older receptionist did not acknowledge me or even made any kind of attempt to let me know anything. She saw me sitting there and did nothing. She needs to be retrained in customer service.

I went in yesterday for a pedicure, which lasted about maybe 15 minutes with the student telling me that she is not good at doing pedicures and she is being forced to do it. She then proceeded by putting my feet in scorching hot water and then messing up my nail shape. I asked her if I should come back because I had paid $23 for something that was not even worth five dollars. She only put a scrub on my feet and there was no massage or filling down the callus. The instructor did not even come and check her work. The other bad experience I had was with their facial . Please save your money and do not go here

The experience and story of scad is amazing and truly life-changing and could be for you and your young student, looking to go to the school to get a degree, this is our future for all of us ,and our children as they grow up to learn and expand outside of their Highest potential REACHING for the stars !! ALL that they do at this school has completely blown away by this 17 minute tour. Highly recommended to take everybody you know to see this if you hear in town!!
