When it comes to auto supply stores you'd think an auto being an auto all supply places would be…read morepretty much the same, but in that assumption you'd be wrong. There are those that are junkie, more dedicated to the trailer trash warriors carrying a lot of novelty crap like the dancing hula girl to hang from your review mirror, the bikini girl emblazoned mud flaps and rebel flag license plates. There are also those more like warehouses than stores dedicated to the auto repair industry with all their clerks busy on the phone taking orders destined for immediate pick or delivery having little time or concern for a customer only making single item purchase. Then, there are places, but not many of them, like Bennett Auto Supply on North Dixie Highway which is clean, neat, orderly, well organized, has just about everything you may ever need. Matter of fact, I buy items for my boat as those items are often the same but less than half the price charged by the marinas or marine supply outlets. The best part of this store however is, and the reason I'm a Four Star fan, is their customer service. Every time I've ever been in here, and I've been here a lot, they have always had time for me, have always been helpful and have always been able to provide me with knowledgeable as well as competent advice.

John with customer service called me a few hours later to explain that the transmission itself was actually ok, the problem was the the previous service company that installed the new front drive shafts (front wheel drive) has made a mistake and improperly installed the main seals resulting in leakage which in turn drained the transmission fluid. Bottom line the honestly and integrity of the AAMCO service center save me thousands.....and to make it better they had the entire job completed in a single day. If you don't want to get scammed or deceived, DO NOT COME TO THIS PLACE. They triple the cost of…read moreestimates and lie to your face as if you were stupid. This is a den of gangsters; they'll rob you blind if you aren't paying attention. I am an older person, and they tried to scam me. They gave me a $6,000 estimate to fix the car's A/C compressor--which wasn't even the problem. They charged me $170.00 for an oil and filter change, but they didn't actually change the filter, and who knows what kind of oil they put in. On top of that, there was a $479.00 estimate to add Freon and fix the A/C--even though the compressor wasn't the issue. In the end, I had to turn right back around before I even left the parking lot because the car was still acting up. So, I asked for a refund on the $538.00 labor charge. The boss--whose name is Angel (a name that is a mistake, given the opposite nature of his character)--runs the whole show. He told me the mechanic who worked on my car was named Bill. I spent five hours in hell waiting for my money back, with nothing resolved. I don't know how that business stays afloat or how anyone can trust a guy like that. All those 5-star reviews must be fake or from friends. Whenever I asked Angel questions, he'd give me nonsense answers, thinking I was stupid. He is such a bad person--I think he's rotting on the inside, because he smells absolutely nauseating. I was in hell with the Devil--I mean, with Angel.

But my friend was in visiting and his battery died and he picked this. I can't comment on the price of the battery, because I didn't pay for it, but they did install it for him at no extra charge. That was a big plus for him because he's never installed a battery. Normally, it's not difficult but his Chevy wasn't the easiest. Sometimes car designers just make things more difficult so they can have fun at our expense. But it got done. The store is very clean and fairly well stocked. It's not a huge location so they can't have everything that bigger shops would have, but they have enough. And the people were certainly helpful. I would come back to this store. They have a good business model and follow it.
