When I got to the store early the next morning, my battery was ready and the sales associates even replaced it for me free of charge. The whole thing took about 15 minutes. The team members I dealt with were very friendly. Great experience!

I freaked out because I initially thought it was the starter when it made a loud clicking noise when I hit the start button. We had been driving the car all day so I didn't suspect the battery until windows wouldn't roll down and the trunk wouldn't open either. We had the next door neighbor give us a jump. We used a cheap set of jumper cables that we had and they did the job, but the plastic melted melted off the cable near the positive alligator clip. We immediately headed out to find the nearest place that could replace our battery. Every oil changing place and pep boys were closed. Luckily for us, advance auto parts was still open after 7PM. Ms. Jessica assessed the battery and determined it was the original battery and needed to be replaced since it was over 4 years old. She recommended AGM brand, some post protectors with goo and also a good set of 6-gauge jumper cables that would be better to have in our trunk in case we ever have this happen again. Ms. Jessica got the old battery out really fast and made sure the new battery was set in correctly with the battery bracket and battery cover. She let us get out of there for the family to make it to dinner on time. We were very grateful for the staff and location of this place, plus they honored the military discount.

Looked like a tow fee was the only option until someone at our last stop suggested a mobile repair service. Before we go any further my phone service and my husband's phone service was all messed up, could not receive calls, only texts, so we would have to carry phone around and hope we heard it ding. Well anyway, within 30 minutes of contacting Juan Charles, he called us, worked us in on his schedule, and met us at Publix. (Problem was starter and battery.) He saved the day and was fair with cost and beyond excellent with cust serv and reliability. His number is programmed in my phone and should be on yours!!! 6 stars out of 5

My repairs begin in June 2023 when I dropped my Jeep off for diagnostics of a knock sound in the engine bay; here is what followed. June 5, Dropped Jeep off. June 9 said engine was bad. August 5, told repairs just began. Aug 9, told oil dipstick tube was broke - this happened during the engine work. . Aug 12, told both valve covers were bad, $360 to replace. Aug 14, Juan's Auto calls about valve covers stating "I do not buy cheap parts off amazon" and he used what dealership would use at a cost of $370.00 for both including new bolts. I agreed, later discovered nothing wrong with valve covers and he reused at least some of the bolts because in the old engine, two of the bolts were larger and cut to size and they were reused when the new covers were installed stripping out the threads on two of threaded bolt holes. Aug 21, Juan's Auto said I needed a new AC blower motor with resister, said the entire AC system was bad and you needed an AC compressor kit and a new condenser. Aug 22, I ask Juan if they were sure AC system was bad, it was just 10 ,onths old, I ask if it was holding a vacuum, no reply. Aug 30, I ask again if AC was holding vacuum, Juan said AC vacuum was done while on the full cycle AC machine, cost $100, I declined the full AC replacement. After picking the Jeep up I took it to another shop where they confirmed in a few minutes that no part of the AC system was bad other than the compressor high pressure line which appeared to have formed a small crack where it was laid over in the engine bay during the engine work. Sept 3, pick Jeep up, check engine light was on, called Juan, no reply. Within 10 minutes a large trail of smoke was coming from the jeep. Once home I could see oil all over under the hood and dripping down on exhaust. Again I called Juan, no reply. Sept 7, called and text Juan explaining it was smoking to much to drive back to Texas and please call me, again no reply. Sept 11, tried to contact Juan again, left voicemail stating I would be back in Florida on Oct 2 and I wanted the smoke issue resolved, again no reply. Sept 14, text Juan that Jeep was dropped off at another merchant, no reply. Sept 15, other mechanic confirms passenger valve cover gasket was pinched against the top of the block, uncertain if the cover was bad, replaced with FelPro gasket. The two stripped bolts mentioned above are discovered, the EGR valve was unplugged, the air filter to crank case breather hose was gone and a plug was placed in the crankcase breather side, the PCV hose was not connected to the PCV valve. Oct 6, Jeep is returned to second mechanic where they were not able to locate source of smoke and oil leak. This is where the AC system was determined OK. Oct 9, smoking getting worse, call, text and leave voicemail with Juan, no reply. Oct 9, still no reply from Juan, have no choice but to drive the Jeep as is back to Texas, smokes like it was on fire the entire trip back home, stopping every 50 miles to clean up under the hood and add oil, 18 quarts in 750 miles, the next morning I made a video of the problems and uploaded to YouTube, sent Juan a text and a link to the YouTube video, again no reply. Oct 12, Texas mechanic replaces one valve cover, still smokes, here we discover the valve covers that were replaced were fine, there was never a problem with any valve cover, old or new. Oct 13, Jeep would not pass inspection, call Juan again, no reply. Oct 16, take Jeep to the dealership where they tell me the oil leak is coming from excessive crankcase pressure and could be a result of everything being left disconnected, main seal gasket needed replacement and they were not sure about right side engine gasket, I decline additional repairs, I'm done. Nov 20, a friends mechanic said he could regulate the crankcase pressure by installing an oil bypass can and an aftermarket oil filler tube for $300, it works, have too empty can once a month, check engine lights still on, Jeep will not pas inspection. From Oct thru March 2024, other calls to Juan went unanswered. March 2024, I sent a letter of intent to sue to Juan, again providing him a link to the YouTube video, again no reply. https://youtu.be/fS8Y9-NNm1c

While I appreciate that the staff attempted to help, the experience left me feeling more confused and uneasy than reassured. After mentioning the issue, I was told rather abruptly that my car was at risk of sparking and blowing up while driving -- a very alarming statement to make without any thorough inspection. We went inside to get the assistant manager, who admitted she didn't know what to do and quickly brought out another team member. They then stated that wires were burning from the inside out. As for the battery test, no clear explanation was given after the initial check. When we followed up to ask if it needed replacement, the employee suddenly said, "Actually, yes," and started quoting voltage numbers off the top of his head -- without referencing the machine that had tested the battery. It felt like the numbers may have been made up to pressure us into purchasing a new one. Before the employees even offered any real solutions, we had already called a trusted family friend who understands cars well. After we explained the situation over the phone, he was able to walk us through exactly what was happening -- without seeing the car or even looking at any numbers. His insight made complete sense and ultimately helped us resolve the issue, long before the workers at O'Reilly's gave us their alarming and inconsistent assessments Another customer nearby -- a father who had been listening -- even expressed concern that we were being taken advantage of. I understand that not every situation has an easy answer, but I left feeling like I couldn't trust the advice I was given. I hope this feedback helps improve the clarity, professionalism, and accuracy of communication in the future.

Drove straight to the mary Esther location-about 20 minutes-where I was informed that the filter was now already on its way to the Destin location, the complete opposite way of home and from where I just came. Called the Destin location to speak with Michael but he was already gone for the day, I was told I'd get a call when the filter came in but that was four days ago and still nothing. The poor guy helping me at mary Esther location said it wasn't possible for him to process my refund and profusely apologized even though it wasn't his fault, he said it happens all the time. I've been a loyal oreillys customer for years while living out west but that has now changed.
