My experience with ADT has been HORRENDOUS. My alarm system was installed on July 8, 2026. It worked for exactly one day before it could no longer be armed. I reported the problem immediately, but the earliest service appointment was 10 days later. When the technician finally arrived, he confirmed the base unit was defective and needed to be replaced. Shockingly, he didn't have a replacement base unit with him, so the issue still wasn't resolved after I had waited 10 days. ADT is now refusing to release me from my contract because the three-day cancellation period has passed. I reported the defect immediately, and if I had known a brand-new system would fail after one day and that I would wait 10 days for service, I would have cancelled within that period. Instead, I'm being held to a contract worth more than $2,000 for a system that has not functioned properly from the start. A company that sells security should stand behind its product and provide prompt service when a new installation fails. My experience has been disappointing from beginning to end, and I cannot recommend ADT based on the service I received. read more

A storm knocked out power to my house. When power came back online, it fried our system. 1. ADT didn't call me to tell me that the system was down. 2. When I told them that the system was down, it took them 2 weeks to come to my house to tell me that it would cost $1300 to fix the system. 3. When I canceled the service, they charged me a breakup fee. 4. When I complained about them stealing money from me without service, they said it was in the contract and on me to pay for no service. Beware of bait and switch. We live in CT, but also have a small house in CA. We purchased an ADT system from their tele-sales rep. Lo and behold, a week before install, they increased cost by $1000 and doubled almost the monitoring. They decided they "gave us too good a deal." When we complained - they essentially said too bad. Do not trust this company! I've never dealt with a more unprofessional customer service ever. I cancelled my services back in November and continued to be billed. I called in February to complain and was told I'd wouldn't be charged for the services since November but then continued to get charged. Then the charges were sent to bill collection agency. In May I spoke with the billing department on to request an investigation along with the recordings to prove I had cancelled services back in November. I called twice to follow up and they said it was processing. Called today June5th and found out the investigation was never started. I ended up getting transferred to debt collection and they would not allow me to dispute the charges. I had no support, I was a customer for 4 years. Do not trust this company at all!! read more

ADT are LIARS, SCAMMERS and Infuriating in every way. Every heard of Bait & Switch? This is what they do, don't believe any hard contracts writing out in front of you they send a different one via docusign. They also don't honor what they say you are buying. During 2020 my family had a new baby to protect during High crime time due to Covid. Even though we already had a security system we upgraded hoping to protect our daughter more during this scary time. We also knew we would be moving in a couple of years so asked for a movable, remote security system. One we planned on taking with us, the sales guy said "not a problem" and checked a "remote" box on a contract for us telling us we can take it all with us when we move. We signed and that was it. Come to find out, (before we moved) we called ADT and asked to send someone over to help us move the system, the women on the phone snickered and said " we don't do that." After me screaming in frustration she said "We can give you a credit", well that was another lie. All of it was lies. When we moved into our new house they sent Over another sales guy I was hoping they would do something to help us, he then laughed in our face (ADT reps like to laugh at customers), asking why we paid so much for our other system, so now I'm crying and so angry I can't see straight, not only did they lie but charged us 2xs what they should have. I signed a contract with ADT for a security home system. I had 3 days by law to cancel contract. I called number ADT supplied for cancelation. I called before the 3 days and was given a hard time to cancel. The reason I was canceling was because of the extremely high price of ADT. The department that handles cancelation told me I have to call sales rep to cancel. I called Taylor R Sullo and was told I had to email her of reason of cancelation and she told me she would submit I to her boss. I asked her why does ADT give customers a hard time to cancel. It feels to me like ADT is a bully security company. They are expensive so they will do what they need to do to make it hard to cancel. I requested confirmation of my cancelation and wasn't given it. I highly CAUTION anyone considering ADT. They are expensive and will give you a hard time to cancel. They have too because they are expensive like hell. Shop around. If you do you won't go with ADT. I don't know if they canceled it or not. I got an email with installation instructions. I've canceled this contract. Maybe the Gotti family owns stock in ADT. ADT keeps screwing up, unapolgetically. There have been multiple instances of really terrible service by the local ADT security company for FAIRFIELD COUNTY, CONNECTICUT. First time, my appt. was literally dropped off the schedule. This is because, I was told from within the company, they OVERBOOK appointments. Yes, just like the airlines overbook seats. I was dropped off the schedule after I took a train for over an hour to make my appt. When they didn't show up, I called and ADT said that I was never on the schedule. I WAS on the schedule because they had actually given me the name of the technician who was supposed to come over. Then, last week, a technician finally came out. After he left, a few of my fobs surprisingly no longer worked. ADT said they would take care of this problem ASAP, and I booked a second appt. so they could fix their mistake. ADT canceled that appt. at the last minute. They re-scheduled for a third appt. the next day. AGAIN they canceled at the last minute. I had to come home both afternoons to meet the technician, who never showed. Because of the way they double-book their schedules, it is almost certain that, one day, you will fall victim to this sloppy-ass company that is supposed to protect your home, your family, your business. I will say that ADT does respond when you're buying goods although you'll be lucky if they show up. We have received terrible service from this company. Our alarm has gone off on several different occasions and no one even calls to verify whether it is a mistake or not. We called today to cancel our service. We explained that we have not been receiving callbacks. They not only insisted that we pay the balance from our last bill on which we wrote please discontinue service, but also are charging us a $19 termination fee. They told us you can't cancel your service on your bill in writing. You have to call them. read more
