My wife planned our anniversary present to be similar (not matching) red string tattoos. This is a common belief that the person you are supposed to be with in your life is connected by an invisible red thread/string. So, we wanted tats of red strings on our wrists. Both tats were hand drawn for the red hearts on the top of the wrist and knots on the back (inside). Hers was a bow and mine was a jade ring holding the strings together. These are posted in her Instagram, so search of these. The best part was that, at least for mine, was incredibly vague with minimal direction, mostly because I didn't really know what I wanted. However, after Julie started talking, she was able to definitely capture the intent with a stunning outcome. For both of us, this tat was in addition to other ink so the experience was nothing new. What was new to me was the depth of color and it mixing two shades of green ink to make the jade ring. The result is nothing short of a very realistic red string bracelet that doesn't actually move, but has life and movement with the flow and bends of the red string.
