I'm going to checkout next door, The Champion Boxing Gym. Well, first. I couldn't tell what was the primary sport of the gym was because there was a jujitsu class and kicking and boxing going on in the huge ring they have. The speed bags only have 2 that normal side humans would use and out of that 2 , 1 of the balls weren't blown up so I couldn't hit it. It was fairly crowed, not compared to the Health Club Side . It was fairly "dusty?" maybe, unlike the Health Club side. It was pretty tidy, and the embers cleaned up after themselves. Everyone seems busy so I didn't talk to anyone I don't know if that's the same building or not? They have an adjoining door. Jeannette is always on time and prepared.   She is knowledgeable, funny, and thorough.  During the COVID-19 stay home order, she checked in to make sure I was working out and offered suggestions for in-home workouts.   The gym that she trains at is older, but the equipment is well-maintained and it is never crowded.  The gym owner is great. Everyone I've seen in the gym is nice, but totally focused on their workout. I prefer it to the chain gym near my house.

I knew going in that they sold Lululemon apparel and other fitness brands. I was in the market for some new leggings for my own yoga practice and for teaching. I walked in and was greeted my 3 very smiley and energetic employees. I told them I came in to check out what kind of apparel they sold. They were very welcoming and began to tell me that their birthday celebration was coming. I was in there on a Tuesday. The employees told me that beginning that Saturday they were offering discounts and deals on all their apparel. I told them great I'll just wait to purchase some thing this weekend then. They weren't put off by the fact that I didn't wanna buy anything right there in then and explain in more detail what kind of discounts they would have. Before I leftI checked out a few items and inquired about what exactly bar barre was. The one employee explained the outline of a typical barre class. I left more knowledgeable than when I first came in. Come Saturday I revisited this location and picked up 2 brand new pairs of yoga pants. One was priced at $98, the other was $90. Now for those of you who know me know that's too rich for my blood. But because it was their birthday bash I scored both pants at 40% off! What a steal it was! I wasn't certain how they would fit so I asked for a changing room and the employee pointed me down the hall to a very roomy changing room/bathroom. Both pairs fit perfectly. Both pair cost me only $112 before tax. One pair was Alo Yoga, the other pair was Beyond Yoga. For those of you who know fitness apparel, know how costly it can be. $112 was a Great deal! Especially considering I live in my work out gear. I won't just wear these for an hour or two a day. I will wear these every day-from the time I get up til the time I go to bed. Money well spend. The employees are super welcoming- even though I don't participate in their classes. I will visit in the future, when I'm in the market to add to my wardrobe. First class is always FREE, for those of you interested in barre.

Upon arrival, the staff immediately approached me and asked if I wanted to sign up. I told them no, as I already have a membership at Edge Fitness, and I didn't want to sign another contract. Despite this, they kept pushing me to sign up. After we finished our game, they kept bothering me about it. I told them the only way I'd consider it was if I wasn't under contract and could cancel anytime. They figured out a solution where they put me on my friend's account, assuring me that I could cancel whenever I wanted. After about a year, I became frustrated because the gym was poorly maintained--most of the machines were rusted. I decided I wanted to cancel my membership. I spoke to the staff, and they told me they'd contact the cancellation department and get back to me within a week. A week passed, and I heard nothing. I went back to the gym, and they gave me the same response. I agreed to wait another week, but still, no follow-up. After a third visit, they told me that my friend had to be on the phone or present to cancel the membership. I called him, but they made up another excuse. At this point, I was beyond frustrated. Why was it so difficult to cancel my membership? I told my friend to take care of it, as I wasn't paying for this anymore. After about a month, he finally managed to get me removed from the account. However, I later found out that they hadn't actually removed me--they'd just frozen my account and started charging my friend again. This place is incredibly shady, and I highly recommend avoiding it. The only reason they have high reviews is because, when you sign up, they pressure you to leave a positive review. If you don't, they'll continue texting and calling you until you do.
