I'm saddened to update my review, but sharing our experiences is essential. While Dr. Sehkon is a competent doctor, we've noticed over the past 4-5 years that service is less personalized, the prices have risen sharply*, and the entire beloved support staff has completely turned over. The care felt less holistic and bent toward pharmacological treatment. Getting refilled heartworm/ flea & tick preventatives became a hurdle, requiring more physical examinations and other services. I wondered if a private equity firm had bought our beloved vet, so I searched. Yes, they had SAGE backed by Chicago Pacific Founders Fund L.P. While I appreciate and value the doctor's and care staff's skills and time, I dislike that PEs force vital businesses into profit centers. *Based on reviewing all of our statements between 2021 - 2024, there has been a 54% increase in exam fees and a 52% - 81% increase in vaccinations (DHPP, Leptospirosis, Bordetella, and Canine Influenza). read more

We had a great experience at Adobe Pet Hospital. Our dog was sneezing uncontrollably and we saw some blood. Rushed over to Adobe Pet Hospital and were quickly seen. It was a foxtail in his nose. There was a wait before they were able to treat him. The extraction went smoothly and our dog was back home a few hours later. Everyone one that we met there was caring, kind and thoughtful. Used to be one of my fav vet for my dogs because the Vets seemed honest, more seasoned and didn't over charged like most places but last visit I was disappointed. I saw a vet I haven't seen before. Brought my dog in due to her major allergies and asked if I could get some ointment or meds for her itchy eyes and ears. Met with a young female vet and she checked the ears and eyes and she didn't say much aside from what she'll prescribe to help with the issue. She then informed me of all the shots my dog was due for and I decided to only do the rabies shot. Instead of giving my dog a shot in front of me like it's been done in the past with other vets she took my dog to the back. Never saw what was actually injected and I asked why they couldn't do it in front of me and her response was that's their protocol. Well it didn't seem to be the case before and I don't feel comfortable having my dog injected with something I'm not present to see. Didn't show me what type of rabies they gave her either like previous visits. I'm not sure I'll be returning anytime soon. read more

I've used Adobe for decades. Much to my great sadness, I had to say goodbye to my beloved Roxy two weeks ago. They were very compassionate and helped me get through a horrible time. I now have a new baby who I adopted from the shelter. She doesn't need to go see the vet yet, but I know she will receive the finest of care from the very caring staff and doctor. We were looking for a new vet because the one we had just didn't give me that connection I was looking for with me or my dog. I had an appt at Adobe but needed to come earlier as my dog was having an emergency. We called them first thing when they opened and they got us an earlier appt. I immediately felt the connection with the staff and Dr. They treated Larry like he was their own dog. The dr listened to everything I said and talked me through what his plan was going to be. They were gentle and so caring with Larry and with my feelings. Their prices are not at all unreasonable. The dr even said he would email me on their day off with the results from all the labs they did on Larry because he knows we are on edge waiting for some answers. I had a vet for 25 years in Castro Valley, but he retired. I tried a couple of other vets, but they always seemed to find expensive things wrong with my dogs and didn't treat other pet species, koi and chickens. My rescue dog had a rather severe ear issue and I wanted a second opinion and an ear expert for dogs. Through Google I found Adobe. I drove all the way out there and was sooo happy I did! I found Dr. Sekhon who looked at my dog. I felt confident about her information, she was knowledgeable and patiently answered all my questions. Turns out my dog tends to ear wax build up and just needs his ears flushed once a month, not expensive specialty allergy foods and allergy drugs. I was able to get him all his shots due and the office visit for HALF what I would have paid in Castro Valley! Adopted a pair of kittens and was looking for a new provider. I called to inquire about the pricing and availability. The staff I spoke with were very courteous and polite. They could give me the price for the exam fee, but not for the vaccinations. They said the doctor would have those details and would share them with me after the exam. I explained that I am not looking for info on which vaccines are needed, but just their pricing so I could compare them to the general marker. The FVRCP, FeLV, Rabies are pretty standard vaccines with costs, and without knowing the pricing, after the exam I could find out they are reasonably priced and get them, or forced to get them at a higher price, or forced to go another provider who will require another exam to administer the vaccines. The staff understood my concern and empathized, but they shared this is a risk I would need to be willing to take. I am not sure why this needs to be such an unknown way to operate. I just wanted to share how impressed I am with Adobe Team. I had to change vets unexpectedly after 18 years. Was getting my two 6 month old Lab Pups spayed and during this COVID-19 time we had no ability to meet the staff and see the facility. Pretty stressful to drop off your fur babies and leave them there for surgery. I've had female dogs for most of my life - this is my third generation pair (technically dogs 6 and 7) and the surgery work performed was by far the best I've seen. The incision is barely noticeable. No swelling, no redness and my dogs left there as happy as can be (albeit a little loopy). Its only been a few days and call it luck but we have had no vomiting, no bowel issues and based on our struggle to keep two 6 month old labs clam is clearly a sign that internal pain is not an issue. We are in more pain stressing about it then they seem to be. Optimistically we will not need to see them for 7-8 months for Vaccine renewal, but having literally took both my fur babies in for Spay surgery on faith and seeing the results I am glad for the unfortunate circumstances that caused us to find a new Vet home. Ironically, I just noticed the email asking for a Yelp review while I am on hold with an emergency vet. It's 3:07am and the frustration I am experiencing as a result of the incompetence by Adobe is why I am now writing this review. I called Adobe on Friday after I had to take my dog into the ER. I took my dog to the ER because I was told by Adobe they had no availability to see her and the soonest would've been two weeks. The end result of going to the ER was requiring her to take two medication's one being a cough suppressant. So on Friday when I called Adobe I wanted to follow up to make sure they were getting the information from the ER vet and to ask if there was a different cough medication as the one she was on did not appear to be helping. I was told that I would get a call back from the vet, and that never happened. On Saturday I called and was told that I would get a call back. The vet called me and I explained that my dog needed a different cough medicine because the one they were on is not working. The vet wanted to prescribe a medication that actually would be considered weaker than what she currently was on. After realizing that, I informed them I did not want that. I was then provided a written prescription that I was to take to Costco. I was told by the staff that they had called and confirmed that Costco had the medication. When I got there the pharmacist informed me they do not have the medication and they had advised Adobe of that. The pharmacist then went on to explain that our vet provided me with a piece of paper which Does not work as a prescription because this medication is a controlled substance. So while standing in Costco trying to work with the pharmacist and Calling the office at Adobe, I was told they need to reach out to Walmart. While standing in the middle of Costco waiting For Adobe to call me back, I found out on my own that Walmart pharmacy closed at 5 o'clock. That meant Adobe should've called me immediately back but no, I had to call them back and verify they learned the same thing. The resolution they were offering is for me to come back into their office to get the weaker cough medicine. I then suggested why could they not work with the ER facility on getting the medication. I was told that I had to contact them, which made no sense because any pharmacy or doctor is not going to fill a prescription without the proper documentation. At this point it's now after 6 o'clock, and Adobe was closed. I explained to The representative on the phone that if the ER was willing to help me but needed to talk to somebody at Adobe is somebody going to be available. Well by the time I got off of the phone with the ER confirming they had the medication, I called back Adobe and all I got was their voicemail. I was told by the staff that there were people still going to be in the office, but as of 3:28 AM still no call back. I completely understand it's the holiday weekend but they knew that my dog was in distress and needed help. My dog has a heart condition and I believe it's not unreasonable to expect they follow their own claim of Providing knowledge, care, and compassion. read more

The best Vet around! I am extremely picky when it comes to my fur babies and these guys never try to sell you services unless completely necessary. For example: I wanted a teeth cleaning for my baby and they stated that it was unnecessary at the moment and they'd schedule only when it's needed. I have moved around a bit and wasn't happy with my dog's old vet, so when I was in Livermore I started taking her to Adobe. I am so happy with them, I haven't lived in Livermore for a couple years now but continue to take her here. I like that they communicate well, it is easy to request appointments and confirm appointments online, and everyone I've encountered at the office is really friendly and attentive. My dog has had to have two surgeries and they both went well and I was happy with the communication from them and post op experience. They are transparent about pricing and don't try to over treat, while also looking out for my dog and advocating for her health. No follow-up on updating the test results, didn't even inform me that my appointment is canceled. Front desk girl basically said they were busy and it wasn't her problem, so lools they do discriminate between clients. This Vet is really good. We are New to town and took our dog in with a size able cancerous lump on the delicate part of his ear flap. He removed the growth and delicately stitched the ear . Our dog is now cancer free and the ear is completely healed and normal 3 weeks later . read more

Dr.Sekhon EARNED my five star review. Two of my friends who live in San Jose would drive almost 40 miles to see Dr.Sekhon and highly recommended him. So we decide to drive all the way from San Mateo to see him and we were so glad we did it. We have a super sweet golden retriever girl Coco. She has only had the common issues like diarrhea/hot spots. We tried different animal hospitals, one of them is okay but they never call or email to remind you of the upcoming appointments, other vets just subscribe me all kinds of medications and make sure I spend 4 digit for every single visit. I guess it's let of my fault that I love my girl too much so I listened to all their BS that if I don't take medicine A she might suffer more blabla to a point where she had multiple issues at the same time and I can't afford it anymore. Then I decided next time, I need to go to Adobe Animal Hospital, which we just did as Coco had bad tummy issue that there was blood in her stool. The expletive was perfect - staff picked up my call with a friendly tone, locked down a Saturday appointment for me pretty quickly, called ahead to remind me about it. During the consultation, Dr.Sekhon told us in most cases it's pretty normal we just needed one medication to reset her tummy, which cost around $60, did a stool test, and told us no need for extra tests unless this treatment plan does not work. We did ask for a blood test as Coco was due for that. Then the next business day, he followed up himself about the test results, and remained on the line for all my follow up questions without rushing to end the call. We ended up paying for less than $300 for two tests + prescription + consultation. He was really knowledgeable, honest and straightforward, quite opposite to most other vets I've seen, who talk in a pitchy awwwwy way to pretend they care about your pup and then rush the conversation and dash out of the room as soon as they can and refuse to talk again without charging for another appointment. Coco recovered pretty quickly afterwards. And we are happy to drive to Livermore for Dr.Sekhon moving forward. read more

Been coming here for years and had no issues. As of the last year the only appointments that are available are 2-4 weeks out which would not work for pets who need care within the week. I've called 3 times for different issues my pet has had and could never get an appointment within a 2 week window. Either they need more staff members or poorly managed. Sounds like if you need a check up and have the time to wait that long this place may work for you. All other semi urgent services don't even bother. read more

When I make an appointment with the vet I see the vet. They don't charge for extra services that I don't need. All the vets I have seen are pretty thorough and go over everything with you. My most recent visit after trying another vet in Livermore, only due to an emergency and needing to get seen as soon as possible, reminded me why Adobe remains the best in the area. The staff here is always friendly and kind. The doctor here never treats you like you're stupid and is always up front about treatments and costs. Worst vet in the tri Valley area. The workers are rude AF. They do not follow up. They hang up on you. It's impossible to get an apt. The vet shows up in his corvette at 1030am and just slips in and. then they try to tell me they are under staffed. We have been calling to confirm our apts since 8am. No call backs nothing. So we show up and they casually walk out side with arms crossed all pissed off saying you the doctor will see you at 1045am. I believe this location attempted to scam me. I got a corona dog back in August and I waited 7 months and another check up to write this review. Like most new pet owners I took my adopted dog into Adobe Pet Hospital for a first check up (my dog was only 7 months old at the time) and wasn't really expecting anything to pop up because the humane society I got him from also did a check up. To my surprise, my dog "showed signs" of DJD or degenerative joint disease. It was recommended that I get an X-Ray to see the status of the disease which would have cost around $400 (without insurance because this was going to be his initial check up to get it). Keep in mind that treatment for this can range betwen $3000 - $7000 per leg. This didn't sound possible as from everything else about the dog seemed very healthy. I spoke with the vet after the appointment over the phone to be certain and to see if I had to go through with the X-Ray today and he basically said I did not have to do it immediately but symptoms will start to show in 3 - 6 months. So I decided to check to be sure with another veterinarian and low and behold nothing came up. So I decided to wait 7 months, which is more time than when the "symptoms" should appear to write this review. Current day my dog is as healthy as can be, he is walking and running beautifully, and my most recent check up with the different Livermore veterinarian (Arroyo in Livermore) showed 0 signs of DJD... I personally believe that Adobe was taking advantage of my (and probably other's) Corona dogs that were being adopted/purchased for the money. I will never come back to any Adobe center. The attending vet I believe was Dr. Harpreet Sekhon but in complete honesty I do not remember, I just looked at other reviews and the name sounded familiar. Even if they were not trying to scam me, it's honestly worse because the vet didn't know the symptoms of a very costly injury. read more

Been bringing our family dog to Adobe Pet Hospital in Livermore for 10+ years now. My daughters have also brought their dogs. They vets and nurses are always very helpful and ensure we and are dogs are taken care of. Never had any problems. I think all dogs have anxiety issues going to the vet, and our dogs are fine until we pull into the parking lot. But the nurses are very patient and take control and our dogs settle down. We live down the street from Adobe, and have taken our older cat in a few times and service was fine. We just adopted a kitten, and both cats ended up getting sick, each with different symptoms, so we took them in for an appointment. Adobe is currently doing curbside only, so you cannot go in with your pet. They get details from you on the phone and the vet calls you after they have been examined. The vet, Dr. Josan, called after examining them both. He told me to keep them separate for two weeks (yeah right) and was going to give me a prescription to treat both of them for what it could possibly be. I tried to relay the diagnosis to my fiancé, who was in the car with me, but when I realized I didn't really know what was wrong with them after talking on the phone with the vet, I asked him to call back and see if he could solicit a clearer answer. Dr. Josan wouldn't give him a definitive diagnosis and rambled on about how it could be a bunch of things (one cat had a blister on his lip, was drooling and had bad breath and the other was sneezing and congested). He said he would need to send samples into a lab, but in the meantime he would give us some medicine that might help. My fiancé continued to ask questions to try and get clarity on the situation and the vet told him that he didn't like his tone and HUNG UP ON HIM. I have never experienced anything like this in my life. We are concerned pet owners and only wanted to determine what was wrong with our cats so we could get them the correct treatment. When Dr. Josan wasn't able to convey what was wrong, we of course wanted to advocate for our pets and try to get an explicit diagnosis. The Silver Lining: If Dr. Josan wouldn't have hung up on us, we would have begrudgingly took the meds he prescribed and never found, in our opinion, the best veterinarian in the tri-city area; Paws of Pleasanton. Dr. Bloomburg was incredible and was able to correctly diagnose both our cats. She took the time to throughly examine them, and patiently answered each question we had, no matter how foolish or mundane they were. Dr. Bloomburg found an ulcer on our older cats tongue (hence the drooling and bad breath), which led her to correctly diagnose both of them with calicivirus, a diagnosis that Dr. Josan did not deduce from his examination. After researching calicivirus, the ulcer on our cats tongue made it a pretty clear diagnosis. This only leads me to believe that Dr. Josan didn't examine his mouth, which is a huge oversight when our concern was a blister on his lip, drooling and bad breath. The end result: we do not need to keep them separate for two weeks, and were given a completely different medicine than what Dr. Josan was trying to prescribe. After just a day, they are already so much better! I will never recommend Adobe Pet Hospital to anyone or go here again. If you want a good vet, head to Paws of Pleasanton, I could not recommend them more! read more

Our two six-year-old indoor/outdoor cats have been Adobe Pet Hospital patients since 2017. Their care has included routine exams, vaccinations, and soft tissue injuries/infections including abscesses. They usually are treated by Dr. Harpreet Sekhon, who provides good explanations of the estimates of their evaluation and treatment, appropriate guidance on what procedures and labs are necessary, and advice on health maintenance and post-visit wound care. I find Dr. Sekhon's explanations and answers to my detailed questions very thoughtful, professional, and clear. I have found the staff similarly helpful and professional. Recently, on a Saturday evening, I was not sure whether I needed to take one cat into an emergency vet hospital for treatment or wait until the next available appointment at Adobe Pet Hospital. I noticed a faint bad smell and redness around one of our male cat's claws. He was eating and moving around normally, did not have a fever, and did not appear to be in pain. The staff on the phone told me about alternative places I could take him where he could be seen sooner. Importantly, they helped me evaluate the urgency of the situation and make the best decision about where and when to take him in for treatment. I waited a few days until our cat could be seen at Adobe Pet Hospital and everything worked out well. I believe that the vets and staff at Adobe Pet Hospital have taught me a lot about cat health and how to be a better pet caregiver. I have done a bit of research about vet costs in the Bay Area and find this veterinarian service of great quality and affordable. For example, a September 2020 routine check-up for two cats cost $98 total; a January 2021 examination fee for one cat cost $55; and soft tissue injuries and abscess appointments have ranged $100-250 inclusive of exam fee, relevant wound treatment, and medication. The vaccination prices are comparable to the those at the VIP Pet Care clinic at Pet Food Express on First St. I have had to take the cats in twice since coronavirus pandemic restrictions took effect last spring and find the new procedures for drop-off and pick-up safe and efficient. My first experience was as a cat rescue person and I was very impressed. Many vets don't help with rescue, and he was excellent. This spring I had a potentially serious problem with a pet cat. Another clinic wanted to do interventions that could have run into thousands of dollars. We brought him here for a second opinion! Wow! What a difference. He had a superb more conservative approach. I was an RN & he gave me similar info and recommendations, but also some medications that might help & reasonable, but potentially effective diagnostic work. He said we could try and wait overnight before a necessary surgery. The interventions worked. For about $365. we probably saved our cat's life and ourselves a ton of money. read more
