Admiral Driving School is walking distance from my apartment complex. The prices are affordable. A down payment/ deposit is needed. The customer service isn't the best. I had a few issues that needed some attention and nobody never/ever returned my call, so i decided to walk to the location (which made me more frustrated). The classes (online) / road driving with Rebecca was FREAKING AWESOME!!!!!She's very professionalism, funny, makes you very comfortable and on top of all of that the customer service was top notch. I live right by this driving school and see them out with and without students often. I have witnessed a student drive off of the road and drive on the wrong side of the road. Both times they just continued on like nothing happened, the instructor did not have them stop to discuss what they did wrong. More importantly, I have witnessed the instructors driving alone cutting people off, pulling out in front of cars, etc. Our neighborhood would be safer if Admiral was not here. I have debated posting this for a long time, but can no longer justify not warning potential students (or their parents). read more

The lectures were fine, Seku was a great instructor, and hilarious. Now, on to my on road sessions - The first session was fine, the guy picked me up about an hour late.. That was extremely unprofessional, and he also rushed through the session. He said he had an appointment with another student at 2PM, mine was at noon. The sessions need to be 2 Hours long (so they say) But he picked me up late, and left early to pick up another student... The second lesson was even worse. The instructor barely spoke English, and I could not even understand him. He left me doing my parallel parking alone, as he went into Burger King and talked on the phone. This isn't what I paid for. I just called for my third one, and the lady who answered the phone had no idea what she was saying. First off, she told me I had a balance of $150. Yes, I was told I could pay that once I was finished with everything. She said I had to pay it ASAP... Then once I scheduled my last and final session, she said "ok, there's a $35 cancellation fee." There is no need to tell me that. I scheduled for the next day, so obviously I'm going to go. Then she went on about I had 18 weeks to complete the program - until April. WRONG. I have until late May. When I started, I was told they would contact me a month or two before I could do my driving test. May is still months before I could. Just terrible service, the owner is shady. read more

Admiral driving school is a very nice school to attend. If you have your learners permit. The school is reasonable price one of the cheapest schools in Maryland. All of the teachers are willing to help so you can pass the test and understand the wrong and right way of driving. All of the students in my class where friendly and helpful. I had a wonderful time here at Admiral! The staff are always happy and ready to accommodate and teach you important tips about driving safely! I went to Admiral Driving School for 2 weeks and all my teachers and driving instructors were very patient, knowledgable and hilarious! I got my license a few days after I finished here, everything I learned here was very useful, everybody there was conscientious, dedicated and had really interesting stories. Scheduling here is not a problem or hassle, Tania the administrator here is great! They sent my certificate out soon! Edgar the owner was very fun. The receptionists Tania and Rachel were very nice! They have a very great team of instructors. Ms. Rebecca is an energetic teacher who makes the classroom portion of driving school interesting and fun to go to. I learned a lot more from the class because she is memorable. For the in car portion Eugenio made me a more confident driver and helped me ace that reverse parking down. This has to be the WORST school in the whole country. My sister had taken a class from this place few months ago & instructor Seku was nice & friendly but mostly focused on roundabouts while she needed help with more basic stuff. Last Monday Feb. 4th, she had an appointment for behind the wheel for an hour. She needed mostly help with parallel parking. The lady driver was chewing gum and had her cell phone in her hand where she kept glncing as she was getting text messages while my sister was driving on the road. Then she texted a few times and later in the parking lot, while she is trying to parallel park, the lady start taking calls and speaking in spanish while barking instructions at my sister from 10 feet away. So I called a few hours ago to inform them of this, expecting atleast n apology or explanation. First the receptionist feigned surprise and then informed me that lady instructor is no longer with them and the day after that driving class, she left for her country. but then she went on to assure me that she would inform her of this bad experience and at that point I tried to ask why did they send an instructor who was leaving that job in a day and travelling next day. At this point receptionist got testy and at my protest, simply hung up on me. When I redialled, I got the answering machine. I was shocked and called back their other # and asked her for an explanation for hanging up. She got really rude and start making weird accusations. When I asked her name, she said she had told me earlier and if I don't know English, thats not her problem. When I asked the name of the owner, she said its Edgar and he is not there and hung up AGAIN. I plan to get hold of Edgar and can't believe he hires & puts up with such rude & incompetent staff. I used to go here when it was Advanced Driving and I had a great experience. Now it's Admiral and I'm extremely disgusted with how its turned out. I recommended someone go here because it's close and from what I remember a good experience. However, from the front staff alone, I can certainly and definitely say that this is a TERRIBLY run business with awful front staff and an owner who clearly doesn't give a damn. The receptionist/owner - an older lady- is EXTREMELY rude. Like incredibly rude. She's condescending and scoffs at you when you ask questions and tries to push you out of the way even though you're simply trying to clarify a scheduling question and all she's doing is clacking at the computer and shuffling papers. Can we PLEASE get 3 minutes of your attention span so we can just make sure we're not getting the wrong information? She would deny information that another staff member informed us we could do, and then turn around and agree to it. That is SUPER confusing. Instructor from what I hear is really good. It's a shame that the rest of the business and the owners can't seem to get their shit together and truly make the experience a worthy one. Not to mention their attitude and lack of professionalism is just horrendous. There seems to be 50 different types of operations coming out of this office by the looks of all the random business cards they have offered on the desks and the people coming in and out are expected to wait in the hallways until they are called in or give up and go home. It's worse than being at the MVA on a busy day. There's no communication or organization whatsoever. The first day we went in there were so many people waiting and one of the receptionists instead of helping people was sitting there on the phone loudly making lunch phone calls and interrupting the other receptionist with order questions while she was helping someone out. We got asked to sit on the side while they figured out some filing which looked like they were just shuffling folders around for 15 minutes before they attended to us. The first day my friend started school they didn't start for an HOUR because they were trying to figure out folders and registration and applications of people coming in. I'm sorry but don't you need to take care of that the day before or maybe get in the office a little early to handle it? I waited to figure out payment and got asked to sit in a chair while my friend went in and I literally sat there for the entire HOUR until I finally went up and asked my question. The receptionist stared at me blankly and gave me a half assed answer and just said come back later. So I left and not even 45 minutes later my friend called to pick up because they said there was nothing more to go over on the first day. It was supposed to be a three hour class. They started an hour late and didn't even fulfill the whole time. That is not what we paid for. And then after we left they called and yelled at us to pay. So wait a minute...I tried to pay when I got there that morning, then they shove me to the side, tell me to come back later and then I get attitude for it? So okay fine, we turn around and go back just to get it out the way and guess what? There is another world population in front of the door. We stand and wait for 10 minutes, tell them we need to pay in response to their phone call and they just make us wait again. Sorry no. We left and had to figure out payment another day. Highly unorganized. No system. No business sense. Terrible. read more

I started taking lessons with Admiral DS in February, and had my last session last week. My first lesson started off interestingly. I was asked to sit in the driver's seat upon my arrival at the metro, where I was being picked up. I was surprised because I am a first-time driver and have never driven on the road before, so I expected for us to go to a parking lot somewhere. Eventually, when the instructor realized that I was not experienced, per my statements, he realized this may not be the best thing and we switched seats, I sat in the passenger seat, which was better. Later on though, I drove in a residential area, which was new to me but actually worked out well (my driving was better than I thought). I found it interesting that we didn't first go over basics like locate and turn on the headlights, and other routine things (except the side mirrors, which I was asked to locate and adjust. The instructor seemed professional and friendly at first but many times throughout the session I could sense what I unfortunately would define as undertones of insulting patronization. I found this not pleasant and after my second session with the same person, I decided i wouldn't take any more lessons with this instructor. I don' appreciate being condescended, especially when I have informed you of my complete lack of experience with driving and then I am treated as if I should know certain things that someone more experiences that me would know. One time this instructor showed up late and didn't bother to apologize but told me that I should expect that I will usually miss at least about 15 minutes per lessons because of the way the scheduling is. Even if that is so, an apology would still be in order. Rude. This happened with my next instructor as well, though otherwise he was better. Regarding the office, one day I showed up for a lesson and a different instructor than the one I had switched to was there, and there with another student. They had changed my scheduling time and didn't call me. When i addressed this, they said they didn't have my number and the lady who had it had left and it was no where to be found. I believe a business should have client's numbers in a database, not in personal holding. I booked the rest of my sessions with an instructor named Sekou who was much more helpful and polite/respectful. He was calm throughout the session, which I appreciated, and taught me techniques for 2-point and parallel parking, which I did very well (his no cones or cars). he also went over roundabouts which was very helpful and helped me with my turns (handling sharper turns versus slight turns). I will say, he is very matter-of-factly, so he will let you know if you missed something you should have done or did something wrong, but I appreciate this in that you get used to certain healthy driving habits. That being said, he is extremely patient and understanding and doesn't mind repeating the same thing multiple times without showing any hint of agitation. He was personable, didn't mind having a good laugh, and I enjoyed my lessons with him more than with the other instructor, for sure. I would give my second and last instructor, Sekou a 4, and the school a 2 for disorganization and poor customer service. This being said, their prices were decent (I had 10 1-hour session for $380). If you end up taking advantage of this, i would recommend you work with Sekou. read more

I went to admiral driving school this past october 10. The teacher lenning thought me a lot of driving skills that I know I will need on the road, his very good at teaching and does know how to entertain the class with safety driving lessons. The staff was awesome, they were always on point and kept things easy and fast. The owner Tania gave me a very friendly smile when I walked in the first time and was always very professional. My driving sessions were very professional too, the instructor Seku was very good at teaching me how to parallel park that I learned pretty fast. DO NOT GO TO THIS SCHOOL. If this school is closer to your house, it's not worth it. If you are an unexperienced driver this school is not for you. They are so cocky and impatient. They claim they do not do private lessons but do offer it when they feel a driver needs more help. Private lessons are expensive there. And the workers think they are better skilled than other driving schools. Moreover, the people there are so rude especially if you're not their race. One thing for sure is that they take care of their own people( which is not a bad thing but they are rude to others who do not have the same skin color). They are so rude over the phone especially if you don't speak their language. They put you on hold. I'm not racist I just don't like it when people don't treat others the same because of their skin color. Also, one time in class, they let this guy who was the same race as them leave before anyone else. Bottom line: the customer service is horrible and they are out right rude as heck. read more
