I always forget there are so many parks around finally checked out this one. Has a big parking lot and the playground was big enough for the small kiddos to run around in. If there are a lot of people it won't be as fun as it is all just bunched together. Also has a nice walking trail. They have a lodge that you can rent for parties and events that has bathrooms and kitchen. read more

Nice looking park. We actually rented a building here for a family event. It came equipped with tables and chairs and a small kitchen area. You set up and put away everything and clean up after yourself, it was very nice and convenient. Those who booked it said they'd do it again, and we were all very satisfied with the experience! read more

I love this park, there is tons for kids to do, from climbing the 3 level playground, multiple slides, musical instruments, swings - seesaw, circle swing, special-needs swing and most importantly a communication board!!! Although there was a separate station for Toddlers and for older munchkins, the two areas were close enough to keep an eye on everyone. Newest tables and benches made it a fun place to have a picnic if that was a goal. Plenty of very near parking kept you from having to navigate littles through a lot full of vehicles. The public pool, walking trails, and frisbee golf was also nestled inside the forest-like atmosphere. Very fun and safe area to bring your kiddos. read more

The Cub Scouts were hosting their cart racing at Adler Park, so we got to hang out for a while and check out the park. The playground is okay. It has definitely seen better days but the kids loved climbing all over it. What really struck me about the park was they have golf frisbee. And if the amount of teenage boys streaming into the park to play is any indication of how popular this course is, I'd recommend you check it out if frisbee is your game. read more

Adler Park has it all. There is an excellent pool (opened Memorial Day weekend) with a slide, kiddie area, a concession stand and lanes for laps. There is also a playground, numerous grills and pavilions, as well as a large indoor area to serve food for larger groups. The park itself used to be a portion of a sprawling estate, and the home of the architect landowner is still intact (it is a cultural center which hosts art classes, music performances, and theatre groups). This history of the park is evident in the pleasing layout of the trees and the thoughtful integration of forested areas into the rolling hills drawing visitors away from the bustle of Milwaukee Ave and down to the scenic Des Plaines river. Along the river is the Des Plaines River trail, a bike/pedestrian/horse trail that can take you north to Wisconsin and south to the city. My favorite thing about the park is the Disc Golf Course. It is a good 9 hole course, and has been more or less unchanged, for over 20 years. The holes are all about 300 feet long, give or take, and are listed as par 4s. The shorter ones can be really 'tight'. The longer ones tend to be more open, but they are all fair (except #4, which can just go to hell). Really good disc golfers will say that these are all par 3s, but even though these guys are really good, they do not play fast. Pro tip: If you see a player with a bag with 15 discs, or a bag that is so large that it has a suspension system, or worse still, a player who brings his own stool to rest on in between shots, do your best to play through. read more

Please, please don't trust the lifeguards or swim instructors at Adler pool. If my husband and I had not been there tonight, screaming for someone to rescue our 5 year old child who had ventured to the other side of the pool, it could have been much more serious. He was crying, coughing up water and absolutely terrified. The lifeguard on duty did absolutely nothing. We were screaming right next to him and he ignored us. The teacher was too far away to reach him. Luckily there was another instructor close by and was able to pull him out. I reported it with the management company but I don't feel that's enough. I don't want any other child hurt by their neglect, hence I'm sending this warning. read more

My first impression to this park was, "wow! This is fantastic!" My lasting impression was about the same. If you read some of the other reviews, there is a lot of stuff to do in this park. It's a great family friendly park. We went for one specific intent and that was disc golf. We were heading south on I94 from Wisconsin toward Chicago area and found this course on yelp. We weren't sure what to expect because of the comments of it being a 20+ year old course. My wife and I stopped there with a friend and we had a wonderful time. It was his first disc golfing experience, and I can't think of a better park for him to learn on. Yes, the baskets are old but that didn't bother me at all. There were paved tees, Great signage, and a good layout. There were not any massively long drives, which makes it more friendly for new people. For experienced golfers, it's pretty easy to birdie several of the baskets. However, there were also enough obstacles to keep you humble. There was a little mud, but it had just rained that day and that's pretty normal for highly traveled courses in wooded areas. My wife wanted me to document the fact that they had nice restrooms.... We can't forget the important stuff. I will definitely play this course again when I'm in the area. read more

What's not to like? It's affordable ($7 a day, or you can get a pass). It's great for kids. The zero-depth pool tops out at maybe five feet - kids of any age can play there. There's a dedicated diving pool, so those not wanting to get splashed can sit in relative safety near the main pool. (I do wish there was high dive, though.) There are two water slides. Concession stand. Play area. And so on. Beyond the pool, there's a disc golf course, another playground, access to the Des Plaines River bike trail and the river itself, and - in the winter - a MONSTER sled hill. I came here for the Des Plaines River Trail Races. This was at the turnaround point of the race, 14.4 miles. After entering off of route 19, you can see the school and the pool from the road, you drive down around back to park and walk past the Frisbee golf course to see the runners. Catch them just before the halfway point and cheer them on to the home stretch. read more

I'm a total pool whore. Yeah, I said it. For worshipers of the sun that don't like to sweat all day long (like me) the pool is the place to be. And if you're rockin' a Libertyville resident's drivers license you can enjoy this fantastic pool for $7 a day. I took my 4-year-old nephew here for the day on a hot, sunny Sunday and he couldn't have been a happier camper. Adler boasts a pretty large zero depth pool, which is great for the kiddos who haven't quite gotten the hang of swimming yet. There's also a sandy area to build some castles, three water slides (!) and a diving board area. Don't forget the well-stocked snack bar, too. Seating at a pool can be a little hard to come by, sometimes, and a crowded day at Adler Park is no exception, however, they have two very large grassy areas to spread out your towel if you can't snag a chaise lounge or a chair. Much better than sitting on the hard cement, obvi. I also loved that the entire pool area was clean, locker rooms included. I'm fairly certain you'll find me here PRETTY often when I'm on babysitting detail this summer. read more

Great place. I come here once in a while, I think just about anything you could think of you can find here. It is great not only for adults but for children too, my daughter really likes coming here. In the summer time mostly, she asks constantly if we are going to be coming here. It is great for adults too. I take her because I like to go here too. read more
