This place is great!! We were thrilled to see that a formerly empty store was rehabilitated and had a new tenant. We stopped in for a meal and the menu had a good selection of options for breakfast and lunch. You can eat in or take it to go, and we elected to take it to go. While we were waiting in line to order, it looked like a few locals stopped in for lunch, and that's usually an indicator that the food will be good. We picked out two Panini's and they were promptly ready. We thought the paninis were excellent. We had a chance to take a look around the store while we waited for our food. We were delighted with the thoughtfully curated selection of gifts, as well as a few pantry staples, prepared meals, some produce, and ice cream. Overall it's a welcome addition to the town. We're planning on stopping back again for lunch while we're in Long Lake area. read more

We arrived just prior to lunch hour and stopped based upon prior reviews and location. The store was well stocked and the cashier was very polite and ready to assist. The wife ordered an "Onondaga" and I a panini with roast beef (can't recall exact themed name). Both were moderately priced and were prepared promptly. The roast beef was good, not plentiful, and panini was toasted perfectly. The turkey in the Onondaga was also not plentiful and while didn't taste spoiled it simply didn't taste fresh. My wife actually didn't finish her selection, only eating half. Overall I would have liked slightly more meat fillings in each and fresh cut turkey. The turkey and cold cuts may be sliced and packaged for rapid sandwich making but it hurt the overall appeal and taste. My daughter and I were touring colleges and it was suggested to us that we sneak through the Adirondacks in our 6 hour trip home. Fall foliage was at its best so we were snapping photos while reading maps and checking for cell phone coverage. We needed to stop and this ADK Trading Post was a great find. First it had character and charm that is so lost in 2014. The bathroom was clean. The flooring is made of old wood and is uneven. There is a porch outside and they must serve a camping population. They had a nice selection of beverages and snacks and sandwiches. The staff was rotating shifts but I found them all attentive and very helpful. They had a couple of soups that were VERY interesting and warm. A portion of the store had a nice selection of ADK gifts...bumper stickers, T shirts, earrings, stationery, jerky, cheeses, dish clothes, prints, candies, baking products, coffees, candies ---I wound up making purchases for Christmas!! There is laundromat next door and I believe you can secure alcohol here as well. You probably can obtain ice as well. I have already sent a friend there! read more

My family and I are currently on vacation in Long Lake. 3 out of 4 of us are immunocompromised, so we were desperate to find a store that would do curbside pick up for our groceries. After a little research, I found ADK Trading Post had this incredible amenity. I emailed with Vickie, and I was able to place an order before our trip, and we picked it up the day we arrived. We also picked up 3 AMAZING lobster rolls for dinner!! When we got back to our cabin, we noticed a few items were missing from the order. I reached out to Vickie and she delivered them to our door!! Uhmmm this isn't just a Souvenir and Gift Shop.. it's an eatery of excellence! It should definitely be listed with the restaurants. Anyway, I digress. Where are you on Friday's in the summer? You better be in line for your lobster roll. Its either a buttery delicious hot roll or a cold roll... and either is awesome and priced in the $15 range - which is less than what it was in LA for $22. And after you gobble that down put on the lobster costume, and take your picture by the ADK Trading Post sign. In addition to the excellent lobster rolls, they have a wide range of hot panini sandwiches all named after something Adirondacky. The Rondeau, the Coney, The Pinnacle.. the combos already planned for you so it takes the hemming and hawing out of the decision so you can spend more time looking at the hilarious card selection or pick up a glass that says "Feeling Long Lakey" or a cutting board or more options. They also have choices of soups. I love the Curry Soup.. thank you! Creamy and delcious. Plenty of gluten free options too. Just ask, it's also listed on the menu. They also have groceries, fresh veggies, drinks and camping gear. There's something for everyone at the Post. Loved the atmosphere, can sit in at a community table, we got to sit with one of the pilots that flies the seaplanes or outside. We'll be back and get togo's for our hiking trip. The sandwiches stay warm and are a great treat at the end of a long trek. Also at this place is the only liquor store in town, the laundromat and a Reiki Studio. I love this place - it's like a mini mall. It's outside of Long Lake, heading towards Tupper, just an ooch south of the Lake Eaton Campground. You'll be going 55 mph as you are barrelling along, so SLOW down and put your blinker on and stop on in. read more

My husband and were passing through and needed to find a place to do some laundry. The trading post was the only thing to come up when I did a search but it didn't say anything about facilities. As we were driving passed we read it in their sign. Very friendly and very clean!! read more

Sometimes you stumble on a gem, went to Ali baba liquor store next door, snuck in the trading post for some groceries and very nice selection of souvenirs. The food coming out to the shady terrace looked great,lobster roll was excellent. On a busy Long Lake weekend, this is a great alternative to some of the eateries at the lake. read more

My wife and I have been coming to the ADK Trading Post for five years now for lunch. This is absolutely one of the hidden Gems for lunch in the ADK Park. We make it up from PA ever year for a week or two and enjoy some amazing soups and sandwiches. Vicky the owner is incredible and this is without a doubt our first stop for lunch on day one. We are now fortunate enough to have a daughter to share the experience with. If you ever find yourself lucky enough to be in the Long Lake region of the ADK park you should have an amazing homemade soup and sandwich after a great hike. We always buy extra homemade soup to freeze and bring home. It's that good! read more

A culinary gem in the a wilderness paradise. Exquisite paninis with a very creative and tasty vegetarian selection. The Zinger - turkey, caramelized onions, cheddar and sriracha mayo is my favorite! But the lobster roll special on Fridays is locally famous. The daily soup selection is always great, and I have never yet walked out without something from their fresh baked goods selection. Best kept secret is their fresh, local produce which disappears very quickly and quietly so if you see it, buy it! read more

Don't miss this unassuming little stop! It is nestled between a laundry mat and a liquor store. They have great sandwiches, soups, homemade pies, a selection of breads, drinks, and a variety of surprising grocery items -- like polenta! Not just the staples. They also have a small section with Adirondack gift items. It's a popular spot with the locals as well. The owner is very friendly; all the staff is for that matter.
