I've been going to Avondale Smiles for more than a year now. The reception staff is very warm and welcoming, making me feel comfortable right away. I've seen Hong and Jenn for my cleaning appointments, which are usually twice a year. They did an excellent job with my cleaning, ensuring it was thorough yet gentle. I appreciated their attention to detail and the care they took in ensuring my comfort throughout the procedure. Overall, I couldn't be more satisfied with my experience at Avondale Smiles. The level of care and professionalism demonstrated by the entire team exceeded my expectations. I highly recommend this practice to anyone in need of dental care. It's unfortunately to write this, but up until this point Avondale Smiles had been a descent dentist. My only gripe outside of this is that sometime their hygienists can be too harsh on cleanings. The challenge that I have is that Avondale Smiles recommends services without helping to fully vet if those services are covered under insurance. I took my son there and they had recommended seals for his teeth. They told me that this would be fully covered under insurance. Guess what? It wasn't. The bill came to over $300 for this. When I called my insurance, they said it wasn't covered based on the service being previously performed. Why then did Avondale Smiles state that insurance would cover this? I wouldn't have approved the procedure knowing it wasn't covered by insurance. Avondale Smiles is very misleading in this and I wouldn't trust them with your dental health needs. read more

It's safe to say Dr Aditi started a cascade of dental problems for me that hasn't ended still. She admittedly ruined my health and agreed for a refund which she only partly processed. She has no ethics and her associate Dr Kim follows up with the same ethics as her and questionable dental knowledge. I wish I never visited her. I made a mistake. read more

I've been going here for 3.5 years, mostly because its proximity to my home, and am generally satisfied with their service. Doctor Agarwal as well as most of the assistants are professional. However, the assistant Shima Sabkat is an outstanding exception. She has been consistently rude to patients. For more than once, I've seen she rudely yelling to the waiting patients "I have called your name twice!" I was once in the process of an orthodontic treatment and the temporary crown was broken. She rudely accused me "What happened?" "What did you do?" "Be careful next time!" I felt very uncomfortable. Other than this assistant, this place is undoubtedly 5-star. read more

I have been coming to Avondale Smiles for what I would guess is close to 10 years. Dr. Agarwal and the staff has always been on time, very friendly and have done a great job for my wife and I. They have a flexible schedule which also has a Saturday option if you cannot (or do not) want to go during a work day. We used to live in Bellevue and the commute to the Avondale Smiles was only 15-minutes. We have since moved and live 40+ minutes commute (each way) to Dr. Agarwal's practice. Sure there are dentists all over closer to where we live, but why fix something that is already great. Smile and give them a try. read more

I have been going to Avondale Smiles for nearly 7 years. Dr. Agarwal and the staff have done a great job and I am happy with their service. What I don't like about is my recent experience with the receptionist. Before the appointment, I told the receptionist about my change of insurance. When I was there at the office, she informed me that something is wrong with my insurance, and she couldn't accept it. She asked that I pay with my own pocket ($100ish). I refused and asked that I will reschedule once I sort it out with my insurance company. The following day, I received an email from Avondale Smiles that I have an outstanding balance of $75.00. I called the office and asked about the payment. She told me that it is the "no-show" fee. First, I was "at" the office, and she did not even mention about the $75.00. Had I known about this fee, I would consider paying the appointment with my money and get my reimbursement later. I was "unaware" of this piece of information. Second, I called my insurance company and was told that they would've addressed it over the phone with her. This raised a question about did she even call my insurance company and tried helping to address the issue? I am disappointed because I would expect courtesy from anyone at the front desk to explain any types of payment. She asked that I pay the appointment with my own money, but failed to mention a no-show fee? I find that hard to believe! read more

I feel bad writing this review because I think Dr. Agarwal is a wonderful lady, her staff is fantastic and they really create a nice environment at their practice. However my whole family was forced to find a new dentist due to the quality of dental work after multiple visits. I went in for a filling and initially it felt okay while I was at the office, when the numbness wore off I started having issues and discomfort with the tooth immediately. I rescheduled an appointment to get it looked at and was then told they would need to redo the filling. They were very kind and efficient getting me rescheduled quickly. After going through the process the second time I noticed immediately that the shape of my tooth felt wrong and my teeth did not feel even when I clenched my jaw... also whenever I chew anything on that side of my jaw food gets wedged into this odd crevasse she created with the filling. I just recently found a new dentist who is outstanding, he immediately saw the work and told me that the work had been very poor so I will need to get the filling fixed AGAIN!... My mom and older sister had the same issues after multiple visits... we switched to a new dentist at Kirkland smiles! read more

It seems as if I always have some emergency going on! The day after thanksgiving my crown popped off. I emailed Dr. Agartala and received an email right back saying she could see me the next day they were open. As it turned out there was a cavity right below the crown that didn't show up upon X-ray . So it turned out that it was a good thing the crown fell out! Right away, even though I was just being worked in, she took the time to do the filling, and the crown prep. Even though I wasn't thrilled to have to do all that, I am so grateful that Dr Agartala found the cavity and my crown is now being made. I trust this practice and all the people working there. Thank you all! Again I find myself at this wonderful dentist ! The office is friendly and do everything possible to make you comfortable. I really like Dr. Agarwal and everyone who works at her office. They are such a sweet, kind group of people. I'm 34 years old and still have two of my wisdom teeth. They are just hanging around there in my mouth, minding their own business and not hurting anyone. For the last sixteen years or so, every other dentist I have visited has looked in my mouth and said, "we should take those wisdom teeth out soon." Dr. Agarwal was the first one to look in my mouth and ask if the wisdom teeth bothered me. When I said that they did not and never had, she was cool with that, and said we could just deal with them if they ever proved problematic. It's nice to have a dentist who acknowledges that I don't need to have an antagonistic relationship with my silly wisdom teeth just because they are there. I had my first ever cavity a few months back, and whatever she did in my mouth to fix it didn't even hurt. I was under the impression that these things are supposed to hurt. Maybe my dentist is magical? Her staff is also always terrific. One day I came in for a cleaning and they were running a little behind. Rather than make me wait past my original appointment time, they offered to reschedule me for another day. It is nice to go to a dentist's office that appreciates that my time isn't unlimited and that my schedule is sometimes pretty densely booked. Very interesting to read all the polarizing reviews here. I have been going to Dr. Aditi for close to 3 years now and have always been satisfied with my experience. Earlier to starting here, I used to go to another facility in Bellevue, and although the hygienists there were exceptional, the doctor would always suggest some random filling that was "extremely urgent". I mean, every 6 months, there was this urgent filling that I had to get done asap. So when I started getting a lot of (unbearable) pain in one of my molars, I decided to try out Avondale Smiles. Dr. Aditi did some tests and determined that I needed to get a root canal. She performed the procedure herself and was very patient and accommodating throughout. My molars are going strong for close to 3 years without any complaints. Did I mention that no "extremely urgent fillings" have been discovered for the last 3 years? :) Highly recommend. read more

I've been Dr. Agarwal's patient for three years now, and she has been AWESOME! I've had a root canal and deep cleaning: two procedures that would normally give me nightmares, but I barely felt anything at all. Something else that impressed me was that unlike many other doctors, she does not recommend any procedure unless she thinks it is absolutely required. My previous experiences with dentists have been horrible, including getting a root canal done without anesthesia despite explicitly asking for it. Compared to these, getting my dental work done by Dr. Agarwal has been a very pleasant experience. Her new clinic (Avondale Smiles) is snazzy! I moved here from the East Coast a bit over a year ago and dreaded looking for a new dentist. I have chronic things going on in my mouth and needed extensive and specific care from my dentist. As soon as I sat in Dr. Agarwal's chair I felt heard and understood. She asked me a lot of questions, looked into my mouth, told me about how she would need to take a whole set of xrays and then discuss a plan with me. I expected to do this on a second visit, but she looked after the xrays she took another look into my mouth and started a conversation with me about treatment plans. She didn't push or rush me. Because finances are an issue, she has been able to work with me on payments and has given me options. Dr. Agarwal is a confident and competent dentist. She absolutely knows what she's doing and she gets the job done while treating me like a real human being and not just an opened mouth. She talks to me before starting any procedure to make sure we are in agreement about what is going to happen. Her fillings have been strong and smooth and pain mitigation is very important to her and her staff. While I have had other dentists who have berated me for my teeth being in poor condition, Dr. Agarwal hasn't voiced any such judgment and, in fact, has given me great feedback for how I care for my teeth now. A recent bridge I had to have installed went without pain and cost the same amount I paid 8 years ago at my previous dentist. Her office is bright, cheery and the staff are helpful and warm. Everyone knows me by name and I always feel like I am in the best hands. I have been to many dentists in my adult life in different parts of the country. Dr. Agarwal is the best dentist I could hope for and the best I have experienced. One last note: Dr. Agarwal has a number of specialist contacts in the greater Seattle area. If any procedure is one done best by another specialist, she will not hesitate to make a recommendation for patients to get the best and most up to date care. I love Dr. Agarwal. You immediately connect with her as soon as she smiles at you. She's warm, smart, and most important self aware when she's doing her job. She knows when you're uncomfortable and goes out of her way to make you feel great while visiting. Dr. Agarwal's crew is also great too! They're super friendly and do great work. What has been the best experience for me is when I've needed to come in for urgent care. The first was when I needed a root canal. They got me in quickly and took care of the pain. I had sentivity complication but she went on filling on the other tooth which I had no problem at ol.. she dint attend the tooth where I had pain nd sensitivity both and I wouldn't ever recommend her..!! But after having three checkups with a different dentist each time, I had had enough. Dr. Aditi is excellent and very friendly. Her staff is great. I went to see Dr. Agarwal after reading all the 5-star reviews right here. Unfortunately, I didn't have a good experience at all. I had never been to a dentist before, and I needed to see one this time because I had a terrible pain in one of my teeth. When I came into the office, nobody asked about my pain, and the first order of business was to stuff an uncomfortable thing into my mouth to take 18 X-rays of my teeth. I was informed in the paperwork that there would be X-rays, I just didn't know there would be 18! And there was no explanation before they started taking the X-rays either! The woman who worked with me at this point - not the doctor, yet - was a bit rough and cold, and didn't seem to care about me. Finally, after the discomfort and annoyance of the X-rays, I got to see Dr. Agarwal. She was nice and pleasant to talk to, but I was quickly disappointed. She proceeded to check all my teeth and list out a huge number of issues that would require future procedures, but refused to address my main concern, which was the PAIN in my tooth!! She barely asked me any questions about how I felt and how my mouth and teeth felt, she didn't recommend anything for my pain, except to recommend an orthodontist to pull the tooth out, and I felt like she didn't care about anything except getting me to get more work done on my teeth. I went to her in pain, and I left the office soon after, still in pain, and with no solution for it - not even a recommendation for painkillers. On top of this, when we were leaving, office staff took me aside to "advise" me about my future appointments - which, believe me, will NOT be happening. I felt like a salesperson was hard-selling their work to me. First, I was threatened with being charged $75 for leaving without my cleaning because they were taking it as a cancellation of my appointment - this felt like a ploy to keep me there even though I did not want to be. They ended up waiving that fee because I had no idea the appointment would take so long, and I had work. I was told how difficult it was to get an appointment for cleaning and the other things I was prescribed - one person had told me nothing was available for another month at least, while another told me there were availabilities in a week and a half. I was also told about the urgency of all my procedures, because I could end up with *more* pain if I didn't do as the doctor ordered as soon as possible - interesting how my pain was not worth alleviation or a second mention by the doctor, but was used as a selling point for other procedures! By the time I left, I felt that the team was desperate to guarantee my return, my business, and my money input. And not once through my visit did I feel that the doctor or any of the staff cared for my well-being. I'm never going to go back to Avondale Smiles, and I will make sure to tell anyone I know not to go here when they need a dentist. read more

I have moved to the Seattle area two and-a-half years ago and have been using Dr. Agarwal services since then. I still have two of my wisdom teeth, one had a small cavity that all the dentists I saw previously refused to fix. All of them, without exception, told me the cavity back there was too difficult to treat and strongly recommended the extraction of both teeth. Dr Agarwal was the first one who took a completely different approach, fixed the cavity, and told me there was no need to proceed with the extraction if those teeth did not bother me! Dr. Agarwal is an excellent doctor, very thorough and caring. She always goes the extra mile to make you feel comfortable and never suggests an unreasonable procedure, giving as many treatment options as she can. The office staff is very pleasant and welcoming too: they just make it very easy, from the scheduling and billing to getting teeth cleaned and checked out. Dr. Agarwal is the best dentist I have ever seen. I am terribly afraid of needles and having work done after many not so great experiences. I needed three sessions to get my pearly whites back up to par. Two of those sessions involved needles. She was patient, kind and even "tricked" me into a more relaxed state, getting my numbness all prepped for her drilling goodness. I cannot say enough about how nice she and her staff are. I have been a patient of Dr. Aditi Agarwal for the second year in running now, and I have visited her for both regular cleaning/checkup and more serious things like tooth extraction and root canal. Before I go any further, I must mention that I have very bad gag reflex and very low pain tolerance, and therefore a dentist visit is no less than a nightmare for me.. (The combination of these two things also means that I am every dentist's nightmare! :-) ) I can confidently say that Dr. Agarwal has been the best dentist till date in handling these issues for me. While she is very knowledgeable and very good at her job, what differentiates her from other dentists that I have been to is her bedside manner. (or chairside manner to be precise!) While she doesn't have a fix for my gag reflex issues, she is extremely patient with it. She understands that sitting/lying on a dentist's chair is not really the best experience for the patient. So she makes every effort to make thing as comfortable as she can. She works at patient's pace, which can mean taking multiple one-minute breaks for someone like me This is pretty admirable for a busy dentist like her, but she can probably afford to do this, because she is fast and very efficient. Even with all my breaks, most times, I am out of her office sooner than expected. Another thing that is worth mentioning is that she has a wonderful crew helping her out: special shout-out to her wonderful assistant and her very experienced hygienist. (Sorry, I am bad with names.) I have been with Avondale Smiles for more than 7 years, now I and my kids are all having our dental service here. Dr. Aditi is such a nice person, she is very experienced, besides the regular teeth cleaning, I also had root canal, crown and clean cavities here. She explained things so well, she can always find a way to make us relax before the treatment. My kids like there too, Dr. Aditi and her colleagues make every treat a happy ending. My wife and I just started at Avondale Smiles after not having a local dentist for several years. Neither of us have had a wonderful experience with dentists. Now, after a few visits with Dr. Aditi at Avondale Smiles, we have found a great dentist that we love to go to. The service is friendly, their work is excellent, and they truly understand how to take the fear out of going to the dentist. They have TV to watch while you are in the dentist chair and Xbox in the lobby for the kids. The atmosphere is great. My daughter had a filling in a tooth - they filled, it fell out three times. Its ok if you wait for this office 30-40 min but if you are late at all there is a $70 fee. They do not give reminder phone calls either. Front staff is a miserable person who needs a different job, read more
