I like to joke that I am Seth's most difficult patient (truly... I'm probably not joking...) and yet he has stuck by my side through thick and thin leaving no stone unturned. It took some hard work and dedication on both sides but I soared through 2020! Life was great! Then in early 2021 I was facing another health challenge and when I thought the specialist would be the one to solve all the mysteries... again it was Seth and his team to the rescue. I am now back to thriving, though I have some room for improvement (don't we all). 4-5 months ago I was barely eating a handful of foods... losing weight... mentally and physically miserable every day! Now I am eating EVERYTHING I want! I know I have played a large part in my recovery but what I appreciate most is Seth and his team and their absolute devotion and unwavering positivity. I feel like I am part of a team... and I am in charge of my health If you have been debating coming on board with Seth I promise you will not regret it! Dr. Gardner is the lady to see if you've been bitten by a tick. I met her son a few years ago and…read moreknew his mother was an Osteopath, but I never connected the dots until I found a huge tick on the back of my leg. I had no idea how long it had been attached (it was in an impossible-to-see place) but I knew it had possibly been there for about a week or a bit less. I went to see a regular doctor who gave me a day's dose of Doxycycline, but I've known so many people who've really suffered and been sick from Lyme disease I didn't want to take a chance. A friend who has been sick with Lyme in the past pointed me in Dr. Gardner's direction. Dr. Gardner has helped many people who have not been served well by conventional medicine and have become sick with Lyme. Additionally, she specializes in many other areas, too, but I've only seen her for the tick bite. I will definitely go back, however, if other things come up. Sadly, now a days, it seems like one is served best by seeing two doctors. A conventional one for the easy to diagnose things, like Strep Throat, etc. And a holistic one who thinks outside of the box and recognizes how stress, nutrition, nerves, etc. play into one's overall wellbeing. During my visit, Dr. Gardner spent about an hour with me, she really tried to educate me on ticks, bites, misconceptions, etc. She's definitely not the type of doctor to hand you some pills and send you out the door. She wants you to understand things and I appreciate that.

I recently moved to Vermont and I was out of my zoloft. I am medically complex and had been let…read moredown by traditional doctors previously. I have had to fight my entire adult life to be heard and believed and get a diagnosis, so I thought to try a more holistic practice. Dr Hobie started out the visit by saying I was more likely to die in a car crash than a serious illness and I had about 10 years left before I needed to worry. I was pretty confused, because what?? but we moved on. I began explaining about myself and my symptoms and journey to get my diagnosis of hEDS (sidenote: We are commonly called the "Zebras of the medical world" because doctors are trained to think of the most common cause first- "When you hear hoofbeats, think horses not zebras" and we are constantly gaslit about our own body by the medical community.) I get very little physical activity due to my condition. Dr Hobie told me that if I gained 20lbs of muscle, it would basically solve all my problems with my condition. I am literally disabled. That is a difficult feat for a typical able-bodied person. He did not perform any type of physical evaluation of me, other than listen to my heart for less than 30 seconds. I said I was having certain symptoms that I believed to be neurological and wanted a referral to a neurologist. He said "a neurologist is a BRAIN doctor," as if I didn't know that. Made me feel very stupid and unheard. He continued to dismiss all my symptoms such as tingling in my arms/hands and legs/feet, constant dizzy headache that worsens with activity, fainting - (he said "How many times," and brought up the gaining lbs of muscle thing again) ringing in my ears, fluid leaking from my nose when i leean forward/bend over unrelated to illness that resolves immediately when returning upright. Dr. Hobie said "ringing in your ears"--pointed to his ear-- "ear--ENT. Your symptoms aren't neurological. A neurologist isn't going to see you for fluid coming out of your nose." like I was so stupid for suggesting that the combination of my symptoms could be neurological. And even if they aren't, there is a way to communicate without belittling. Living in my failing body for 32 years, its safe to say I have done my FAIR bit of research into my condition. I mentioned chiari malformation, cervical instability, CSF leak, conditions that are common with EDS as possibilities. He dismissed all of them and said "none of your symptoms are related to those. We need to look at more common things, not things that less than 1000 people are diagnosed with." I responded with the fact that I was well aware of the "Zebras" analogy. What I wanted to say was "He would have been too if he had done any google searching about EDS, which I noted in my pre appointment paperwork. And maybe more people would be diagnosed if their doctors would listen to them," but I was holding it together and just ready to leave. He suggested physical therapy at the place below his office, and lab work "to make sure nothing is gonna kill you right now." Mentioned me dying multiple times, it was weird. He said all my problems were related to ENT and then DID NOT REFER ME TO ENT or note any of my complaints in my chart about my symptoms. I cried in the car on my way home. Do not come here if you have any chronic illness. 2 stars for getting my zoloft filled.

To the previous person about the removal of the carcinoid tumor.. are you a surgeon? then why didn't you remove it? Maybe he was saving complications by not doing a biopsy first?... maybe he could see it was cancerous and didn't want to wait....I'm not a surgeon but I do know enough to know that more than "just the tumor" is removed... some lung tissue goes with it... it's called a margin Maybe you should have asked that surgeon in NYC exactly what percentage was taken out! I'm seriously tired of people complaining about things they have no further knowledge of.

She had a PET scan which revealed one spot on her lower right (lobe) lung was cancerous. FACT 2: We went to "Dr." DeCunzo soon after, who said that he "could not perform a biopsy and he would only be able to remove the whole right lobe of her lung"!! 25% of her lung. Luckily she caved to my pressure and I took her to Memorial Sloan Kettering in NYC. FACT 3: The head surgeon said that he "WOULD recommend a biopsy" to find out exactly what it is then if it needs to be removed to "only remove the tumor". The biopsy revealed that it is a Carcinoid Tumor that needs to be removed. In her elderly state she refused to have care in NYC but we have seen a third surgeon at Albany Med who luckily said that he will do the surgery "ONLY to remove the tumor". Oh, and when she called the "surgeon" in Glens Falls to let them know she's going to get a second opinion the nurse hung up on her! I wouldn't recommend this guy to look at a hang nail let alone any sort of surgery. And I have every single piece of literature, receipts, and evidence to follow up with everything that I've written here. Unfortunately I couldn't file a complaint with the AMA, although I tried, since he didn't do any actual surgery. But stating that a biopsy is impossible (his words) and the only thing to do is to remove 25% of her lung which was totally unnecessary is very neglectful in my opinion. ANYone going to this quack should beware and know they're putting their life at risk. That's what happens when you go to a hick doctor.

It is so tempting for me to seek out care only when the pain gets excruciating. "I am busy, the…read moredrive takes too long, it'll get better eventually on its own, I don't have time for exercises"...these were my excuses UNTIL...until the pain got so bad and the movement so restrictive that it was hard to work in any form, even at my desk, and the outdoors that I love felt too daunting to enjoy. I went to Dr. Mike & committed 100% to the process. I made it a priority. I went in on the schedule he suggested and thank goodness for Melinda's follow up and their automated reminders. I did the exercises he provided that were specially curated for me and my pain points. I did them religiously. I started this because I was told by an interventional pain clinic that I was required to try 6 weeks of Chiro, massage, or PT BEFORE I could get a referral to the pain clinic. The medical clinic actually made this a requirement. They told me that often this alternative course of care alone resolves the pain without medical intervention. The climate of healthcare is changing and more and more I am seeing all types of providers work together and understand one another's areas of expertise and ability to positively impact lasting improvement and resolution of symptoms. I am so glad I not only went to Dr. Mike but I listened to his instructions and I followed them and I am well on my way to feeling better. Go, but don't just go, DO! Do the work, do the follow up, make the effort, commit to the process. Lesson learned for me & I am so grateful.

I've seen so many specialists that all ended with the conclusion that my pain wasn't bad enough or not worth doing anything about. Waking up in constant pain and being told there is nothing they can do and wait until it gets worse isn't the best quality of life in my opinion. Essentially, I felt dismissed and ignored and had just about given up and accepted my chronic pain sentence. From my first phone call to the office I spoke to Dr. Micheal Townsend directly, not only improved my outlook that there may actually be people who still care about their patients but who also was confident he could do something to help! I've had a couple visits so far and everything was laid out to me from the beginning and I was able to get answers to questions I've been asking medical doctors for YEARS. I am hopeful that he will be able to greatly improve my quality of life, and get me back to functioning daily without constant pain! I 100% without any hesitation recommend this office for those seeking a doctor and office manager, Melinda, who both go above and beyond their call of duty to help you from making visits more affordable to making sure you are actually improving while keep you educated about the process along the way! They have done an amazing job so far, and I am confident that it will only continue to get better! Thank you Dr. Townsend and Melinda for making me hopeful that I will one day live happier and healthier, with less pain!
