Okay so the reason I add this business, is because I haven't had a great living experience here, so just a heads up to all those frantically searching for places and jumping on the first apartment they see.
While most of my stay has been okay, there are definitely some things i would NEVER want in my house/apartment building.
First off, there are dumpsters right outside the building in ABUNDANCE. it looks unpleasant and uninviting to say the least. When you enter, there is a stench of garbage mixed with stale water and I had to hold my breath before I climbed up one set of stairs.
Don't be fooled by the pictures, the third room (which isn't the converted, it is the real thing) does not get ANY sunlight. My year was literally spent in the dark.
the laundry gave me a problem more than once. On two occasions, the dryer stopped working after I fed in the money and I had to sprawl my clothes in the living room.
Now the BIG stuff: mice and bed bugs.
I had not one, not two but FOUR mice in the span of a year. The problem wasn't addressed at the root and frankly, the green medicine/poison for mice dirtied the apartment more than addressing the issue. I personally threw out one of the mice. Ew.
Bed bugs was a huge situation. My friend who stayed in my roommate's room while she was gone, got bitten all over. And although the apartment was " fumigated" after this event, 2 weeks later I found bed bugs in my bed. Disgusting.
I know these problems can't be guaranteed, but I believe that the cleanliness of the building has a lot to do with it. I am only giving this building 2 stars because it has ample space and is in a good location. read more
