Out of 5 web designers to choose from, I picked this one. Although most expensive, I felt that we…read morewould "get what we paid for", but I could not have been more wrong. Jeff sold me on having them do our website. Great sales guy, made it seem as if he were going to do the entire website himself. Jeff met up with our marketing team and took notes. We were eventually pushed off onto Laurie as if Jeff did not have time for us. Of course he never knew how to answer questions about the website since (little did we know) he wasn't the one designing it. All of the notes that were taken by Jeff were obsolete. We had to tell them what we wanted several times before the launch of our site. Laurie came in to the office and had a nice print out of how to use Wordpress (the basics). Several weeks later I asked if she could do a small tweak to the website (which did not take more than an hour) and we got billed for $350.00! All other questions I had on how to find data or use other components of our site (like add a simple plugin and get it to work properly), we got a "well I've done some research and I don't have an answer for you." Can not express how disappointed we are with this company! We hired another web designer who has been super helpful with wonderful suggestions and quick turn around (and does not charge nearly as much per hour!). Definitely the last time I rely on the old saying "you get what you pay for".

I've never had to do anything like this before. A few weeks ago, my boss turned to me and said, "We…read moreshould get some plaques to celebrate 2011." And being the control freak that I am, I decided to figure this out myself rather than let our Marketing team do it. I spoke with Al who had me come in to look at some options. I was a demanding customer for a few reasons: (1) I had no idea what I was doing, so Al had to walk me through the whole process and watch as I went back and forth and back and forth on designs. (2) Although I hadn't received the product yet, I needed to make sure the payment hit my 2011 budget. I realized on the morning of the 28th that it was the last day for me to submit the expense report. In a rush, they created an invoice for me to pay. (3) I needed the product by a certain date to present at a meeting, so I nagged them a lot to make sure I got it in time. This was clearly unnecessary. They even dropped it off at my office. The product came out beautifully. And I really loved that Al didn't take advantage of my lack of experience with this kind of thing. He didn't jump to the most expensive options even though I told him, honestly, that I had no idea what would be reasonable. (He could've told me it'd cost $500 for a plaque, and I wouldn't have known any better.) Instead, he started with one of their lower priced catalogs, so I could see all of the options. Al was easy to work with: understanding, fun to talk to, accommodating. They didn't just put up with my nonsense--they treated me like I was a great customer of theirs even though it was my first time working with them. Love it.

Mid-February I was in the middle of completing some billing work that I needed to turn into my…read morebiller and my USB device failed. I began freaking out and quickly contacted a team member at the Computer Guild. I was told to bring my device in and there was a potential that some data recovery could be done but it was difficult to tell before actually getting it into the shop. I dropped it off and was contacted by a gentleman, Joe, he explained that he had been looking at the device for about eight hours and was unable to recover any data. My heart was broken because every document accumulated as an adult has been saved on this USB device. Every progress note for client; every tax return; every billing episode; every credential that I've ever gained; documents from when I was still in college; study guides for state exams that I wanted to keep; client letters; college transcripts; job applications; court documents; invoices and receipts; resumes and cover letters; student loan info; literally everything as an adult has been kept on this USB drive. I essentially explain to Joe that I would come back and pick it up and pay whatever the cost was to do the diagnostic on the USB and didn't hear from him for awhile. Well that evening he called and said that he found a company that specializes in data recovery for USB devices and he said that he already contacted them and they were willing to look at my USB device free of charge and then run a diagnostic; tell us what could be recovered if anything and then also give us a quote. Now, I don't know how familiar people are with great customer service and I can say prior to this circumstance my experience with customer service has been primarily substandard. I was so elated that Joe took the added and truly unnecessary step of contacting this other company. He had no obligation to do so but in keeping with the Computer Guild's mantra, he went above and beyond and performed due diligence by seeking this company out. Joe took care of all of the shipping, all of the communication with this company and sent me a quote. I was hopeful that the quote (because it ranged) I received was going to be on the lower end by the time that the work was completed but it was hard to tell before the company was actually able to complete the entire diagnostic. The company comes back and says that they were able to recover about 95 to 98% of what was on the USB drive but the quote at that point increased exponentially, almost double the original quote. Joe called me and explained. I informed him I was not prepared to pay that amount and essentially told him that I apologize for wasting his time but I cannot afford that. Joe assured me that in no way did this waste his time and he was happy to help. He planned to communicate my sentiments to the company and essentially have them send the USB drive back. I got a call about a day later from Joe saying that he essentially went to bat for me and advocated with the company for them to drop the price to half of what the quote was. I was literally in tears when he told me this because I had already come to terms with the fact that I was just going to lose every bit of data I ever acquired. I was on vacation at the time of this conversation but the company was unable to move forward without payment upfront. Joe again sprung into action and the as able to negotiate the company renting the money until I got back in town. I've never been so pleased with a company in my life!!!! I love Joe!!! And the guys at the shop, everyone was incredibly accommodating and beyond helpful!!!! I'm so humbled and appreciative of them!!! They literally saved my life!!!
