You know those gyms that are full of steroids and surliness? This isn't one of them by any stretch…read more I'm in town for a week and needed a place to get some workouts in. I spoke with Bill, the owner, and he was very accommodating and helpful and said to come on over. Briana (sp?) at the front desk gave me a tour and showed me all of the amenities they have in their gym. It's not a huge space but it is very well organized and sparkling clean. My gym back home should see how this place is maintained. All of the equipment is in great shape, they have; free weights, several squat racks, dumbbells, a selection of machines, TRX setup (see picture) and some kettlebells for you hardcore masochists. They provide one-on-one personal training and from the interactions I saw with clients they have loyal followers. I would not hesitate to recommend this gym. They deserve 5 stars.

Having been an old time iron pumping gym rat for years and years, I got away from training about…read moreten or so years ago when I starting building a house. Over that time, aside from gaining about 20 pounds and loosing a lot of muscle tone, I developed some bad back problems as well as very sore knees both of which were actually staring to interfer with my ability to do things around the house and keeping me from enjoying playing with my grandkids. So I decided to start training again on my own. I immediately started hurting myself... repeatedly! I know this sounds like a commercial but "Thats when I decided to try Success Studio!" In all seriousness, the team there, especially Jana, helped me get back into the training routine guiding me along and making certain that I not do anything stupid to hurt myself. That was last August. Its now January and I have lost ten pounds, my back is strong, and my knees are getting stronger. This just proves that, with the right trainer, anyone can get fit. I heardily recommend Success Studio for any one seriously wanting to get back into shape. These folks know what the're doing!

The atmosphere is laid-back and community-oriented, with fantastic support from coaches to members. Everyone is there to improve themselves, but they value the camaraderie and don't want to go it alone. At Solidarity, it feels like a team effort. I might be one of the older members, but the support I receive from everyone is truly amazing and keeps me motivated. The workouts are challenging, but they're also tailored to each individual, which is incredible. I'm surrounded by incredibly talented athletes, and they're all eager to share their insights or lend a hand when you're at the brink of giving up. I've been a member of the gym for about five years, and I can't imagine my life without Solidarity and its members.

Absolutely incredible gym tucked away off the main road close to Pantops. A day pass is $10 and a…read moreweek pass is $25 which I think is a great deal if you're just visiting for a short time. You are able to access the gym any time of the day even on a guest pass - just message/call the owner ahead of time to get access information. The gym itself has only a few cardio machines: treadmill, elliptical, erg, ski erg, stair master. What is truly the star of this gym are the machines. No two machines are exactly the same and each serve a specific purpose. I did a full leg day here and had 3 different leg presses and a hack/reverse hack squat machine to choose from. The cable equipment had every type of handle/grip that you could want nicely hung up on the wall. There are a good number of dumbbells and barbells to use as well. There's a very small turf area with a sled, boxes, bands, and kettle bells. If you only want to do cardio, this may not be the best fit, but if you do any type of weightlifting (powerlifting, bodybuilding, crossfit) this is the place for you! I will definitely be returning the next time I find myself in Charlottesville!
