I had the moroccan lamb burger and my wife went for the falafel. We also got a portion of peri peri chips and cajun onion rings. The staff attending us were very polite and friendly. They were relaxed and took the time to answer our questions and presented us with alternative options, which was a nice thing. The milkshakes were rich and very tasteful. The lamb burger was done very well and the accompanimients that went into the bun complemented the patty very well. It was an optimum blend of the correct ingredients coming together that leaves you with a good taste and a satisfied tummy. The peri peri chips were massive and we could not finish the bowl. The onion rings were a bit too greasy and soggy. So we won't be ordering them next time. Overall, based on this experience, I would go back. I sincerely hope they continue to maintain these levels of taste, quality and service in a highly competitive and cut-throat market, where innovation and excellence are key to success.

I can't lie, handmade burger co has served me one of the best chicken and bacon burgers I think…read moreI've ever tasted. Genuinely! It was piping hot, the chicken succulent and juicy and a decent size with the bacon not fatty at all! I asked for some fried onions to go in the burger as in extra and boy was that a good choice! It made the burger even juicier! There was cheese and BBQ sauce and hot sauce going on - just OMG! It's a shame it's in Newcastle - I need to fine one in London! My only chagrin was the hipster fries - I don't know how coleslaw dumped on top of a portion of fries constitutes it being hipster but hey ho! They were nice, I was just soooooo full from the burger and the peanut butter shake! Will definitely be trying to see if this place exists somewhere in London!

Few things. When I called to make a reservation for 7:15pm i…read morewas urged to take a slightly earlier time of 6:45pm. When we arrived there and all through the night, there were at least 4 or 5 tables free so I'm not sure why we were told to take earlier seats. Secondly, when we arrived we were called over from the front door by the (I guess) front of house hostess, from the bar area where she was standing (perhaps 10ft away). She didn't show us to our table, she merely said, "around that corner there is your table". Poor service at best. At this point the restaurant was not busy at all. She had a face like sin and didn't appear to be in the best mood. Not a very good embassador for the place. BUT.. aside from this early poor interaction... Onto the other staff, waiters and waitresses etc, very impressed, well dressed, very polite, tentative, good vibe overall and we were looked after. The food, actually really nice, steak was massive and cooked to perfection. Large portions, exactly what we expected from a steakhouse. Veg was cooked well however the cauliflower cheese should be advertised as "cauliflower with cheese on top" as the cheese sauce was merely drizzled over the top of boiled cauliflower. But I would say we were (4 of us) all very happy with our food. Front of house lady didn't spoil our night (I suspect it was she who took my reservation phone call too) though it would have been a lot nicer if she met the same standards as the rest of her crew and food. Overall, we would definitely return. Thanks

Last time I visited it took longer than that so the staff happily gave us free lunch vouchers for next time. I recently went to use those and the staff was very nice and friendly when we brought them up to the counter. We got the breaded chicken burger as that is halal. Sides included skinny chips, thick chips, simple salad, and coleslaw. Definitely would come back!

Ten minutes later, comes the beer. That needs a fixin. Now, a burger is a kind of sandwich. A sandwich is something you can pick up with one hand and eat while reading a map. I got a cramp in my face trying to get my mouth around this thing. I had to eat this thing with a knife and fork. The bun was superfluous. It was tasty otherwise, though the 'onion rings' in the burger came apart long before they were cooked, leaving streaks of batter within the burger. They're perhaps best left as a side. The chips/fries here are a fail. The nothingness of the skinny fries or the pale not quite crispness of the chunky fries don't leave much of a dilemma. I avoid. As is par for the course in a restaurant that narrowly misses the mark, the service is mostly excellent; the staff is warm and friendly. That is worth the visit. Otherwise, some quality-control is needed.
