Impressively, they took the time listen to my desires and visualize for themselves what the plan might look like. They offered helpful suggestions; most that we ultimately went with. The lady I talked to on the phone was great in communicating the work planning and kept us all updated. Covid has made estimating a project clunky. We did a video estimate. The cost turned out to be quite fair, but I was concerned about the cost before starting. After watching all the work done, I was happy. An in person estimate is really superior, if the job is not really simple, so an explanation can be given for all the labor time it will take to execute the plan. I hope to hire them for some more work in the future.

If you want a home that doesn't fall apart, DON'T BUY KIT!…read more My email to vendor Well , we now know which company will not be considered should we buy another manufactured home. We are very disappointed in KIT workmanship and the quality of the materials used. The siding is warping and coming apart at the joints. They obviously used as few fasteners as they could. The back door is warped and not hung correctly. It is very difficult to open and close and does not seal. (Have made numerous complaints) The front door does not seal. The top rail on the porch that was joined is warped and looks crappy at the join. The linoleum floats when the AC is on and really floats with heat. I screwed down the vents and that helped some. There has to be some serious leakage in the ducting. I have a nail coming up through the linoleum in a place where there is no traffic. I question whether there is any insulation in the outside wall of the bedroom closet. There is no vent in the bedroom closet. The remote for the living room fan has never functioned so when the light is on, the fan is on. Great in the summer, kind of bad for winter. THEIR REPLY: On behalf of Westwind Homes, we are sorry to hear about these issues, and we appreciate you bringing them to our attention. Westwind Homes provides a 30-day cosmetic warranty. In addition, KIT Custom Home Builders provides a one-year limited warranty on the home. According to our records, your one-year warranty expired on May 25, 2025. Unfortunately, the concerns outlined fall outside of the applicable warranty period. Please understand that shifting and settling can be a normal occurrence with any home over time. As a home settles, certain materials and components may move or shift. Each home's foundation, land conditions, and placement are unique, so the amount of movement or settling can vary from one home to another. Westwind Homes cannot provide a lifetime warranty covering movement, shifting, or settling of a home after the applicable warranty periods have expired. Regarding the vent in the closet, KIT Custom Home Builders does not install vents in closets as part of the standard construction unless a customer specifically requests one at the time of the home's construction. We understand that these concerns can be frustrating, and we appreciate your understanding regarding the terms and limitations of the applicable warranties. I would have gotten 3% interest on my mortgage, but got stuck with 6.6% with perfect credit due to the delay. The warranties and service through craftsman and Kit custom homebuilders is an absolute joke. The house has had multiple issues, and their "service" for after care is pathetic. If you want to overpay for a glorified mobile home and be on your own with problems later, buy one of these. Buyer beware. You'll be angry and frustrated dealing with these cheap people
