I have been depending on ADA to service my HVAC unit for the past 8 years. The unit is now 38 years old and when I called ADA for an estimate on replacing my system they were very reasonable. They had my new unit ordered and installed in less than 1 week! Mr. James Huff and Mr. Denith Miller were the technical professionals that installed my unit. They were absolutely the best installers that I have every used in my home. They were very professional. I have an odd furnace filter on my unit and Mr. Huff took the time to tell me what I needed and showed me how to make sure the filter fits the unit and goes in properly. Mr. Huff and Mr. Miller were very kind and answered all my questions. They did not leave the house until I was 100% satisfied with my new unit. ADA backs all of their work and units. Our furnace went out on our 3 year old modular home. Called ADA in Lancaster, Ky; they came out next morning and made a diagnosis. As soon as parts arrived they came out and fixed my furnace at a reasonable price. I didn't realize until David came out that my furnace had never worked properly. Everyone from the person answering the phone to the tecks who install our new heat pump were courteous and respectful. I was referred to ADA from some friends in Lexington. As a long distance land lord trust is a big thing. I saw some of these bad yelp reviews and I was worried but my friend said it was from a previous owner. Said that Karen was awesome and not to worry. So I called and from start to finish they have been great. They actually repaired my rentals AC instead of charging me for a new one. Looking forward to building my relationship with them. read more

My warranty company chose them to come out to look at my HVAC. Twice they called in and couldn't make it. No big deal things happen. However, I was quoted an out of pocket cost of $790 to replace coils and the condenser. Of which $200 was the permit fee. I verified this cost with the city and they said a permit fee is $125, not $200. When I brought this up to ADA they said the warranty company set this price. I spoke to the warranty company and they said no they don't set this since this charge doesn't go to them. The receptionist at ADA told me they would waive the extra $75 that they were trying to pocket. She then calls the next day to tell me that the owner refuses to budge on the permit price. I refused to let this company do anymore work. They are a bunch of scam artists! read more

What they lack in originality, this company makes up for in consistency. And by that I mean, they run the same scam again and again. Just like Bill M., I have a home warranty and was referred to ADA (there's a reason most reputable service technicians don't work with home warranty companies). TWICE, TWO YEARS IN A ROW, they came out to service my HVAC and BOTH times they claimed my evaporator coil was leaking and needed to be replaced (which, even if the evap coil is under warranty, is a service fee to the tune of $1000). Scott, the owner, was incredibly rude and dismissive--refused to work with my tenant last year, refused to work with me this year. (He kept telling me vastly contradictory things about the unit and service and when I asked for clarification, said he was cancelling the order and didn't want to work with "difficult" customers.) BOTH YEARS, I asked for a second opinion. And, exactly like Bill M., the results were eye-opening: both times it was a simple leak in a hose due to improper fitting. A total fee of $50 from a service technician from a reputable company. AVOID ADA HEATING & AIR / SCOTT KESSLER AT ALL COSTS. I have a home warranty in which they referred ADA to inspect my air conditioner. The owner Scott came out and took off the panel without looking at any equipment inside or testing outside and said your condenser is bad and will need to be replaced. In addition he was very rude and I did not trust him. Then I did not here from him for four days so I called the home warranty service. They advised me that a new condenser has been ordered and ADA should be following up with me. I decided to call ADA and a lady answered who I am guessing is his wife. She said the home warranty ordered the condenser and I would have to pay $100 for a pad to meet code, $75 for an electronic part and $500 for freon. I get the freon since it is R22 but an electronic part on a new system and a new pad. I called another company out to get a second opinion and it was an eye opener. They told me there was nothing wrong with my system that it just had a leak. In regards to the pad they said it was not out of code and I should not have to pay for an additional part since they are putting a new condenser in. I contacted the home warranty service and went over this with them but they did not seem concerned. I was not going to argue since I was getting a new unit. I called ADA back and went over what I found and she said I would not have to replace the pad. She would not explain the electronic part and said I would have to talk with the technician. Well it took two weeks to get this installed from the time I first turned in the claim. The tech Chad came out to install and was great and he is the reason I have given two stars. I ended up paying $575 as I did not want to argue with him at this point as he was nice and I was getting a free condenser. I would not recommend this company but if you are going to use them get a second opinion.. read more

Service claim started July 7. New unit not installed until mid September due to them failing to give quality repair service as well as poor customer service and delayed ordering the needed replacement unit for days until I called asking for the unit install date. We spent over 8 weeks, in the hottest months of the summer, with dogs in the 90+ degrees that it was inside the house and they did nothing to help. They told us 4x to take our business elsewhere when I tried to hold them accountable. The owner, Scott, was useless and wouldn't stand behind his company's mission or work performed. They also practice invoice fraud-they charged a removal of equipment fee but did not remove the old units until I had complained to the KY Attorney General, several weeks after the installation. I requested 3x a detailed estimate and invoice but still haven't received one. They tried to collect money before repair/replacement was completed. Research all options before settling for this company and their fraudulent services. I have invited them to make this right, they refuse. read more

THIS COMPANY AND THEIR STAFF ARE AWESOME!!!! I wasn't happy with a company I had used for years. My manager, who is hard to impress, suggested I try her heating and air company. From the first phone call I have felt that me and my home matter. I prefer dealing with smaller companies outside of Lexington as they seem to still care more about people. I read the reviews here and am sorry for their negative experiences, but that hasn't been my experience. I find this company to be fair in their pricing and they show up when they say they will. My furnace unit is in a cramped crawlspace, not very easy to deal with. Some companies charge more for that, but not ADA. Scott, the owner, checked out my unit himself My unit has some age on it, but I was hoping to avoid the expense of a new unit just yet. Scott and his crew dedicated themselves to helping that happen. The work they did was less than half what another company wanted to charge. I just had them service my a/c for the Summer. Every person I have dealt with has been wonderful. I would not hesitate to recommend them. I've already been quite vocal about my experiences. read more

I gave them one star only because you can't give them zero. I got stuck with them through my home warranty company. 6/5/16 they came out for initial visit and diagnosised a bad coil. My warranty company decided to replace the air handler unit located in my basement. We were informed prior to replacement of unit that we would owe out of pocket 50 dollars for drain line modification, 100 dollars for Electric modifications and 250 dollar max for coolant. Upon arrival unit was replaced and we were charged the max of 400 dollars total even though the installer states it didn't take much coolant but he charged us for max possible without weighting it. Then 6 weeks later we found water in our basement extending out 10-12 feet from unit. Called ADA immediately on Saturday and even thought they claim to have 24 hour service nobody called us back until the next day. They then put us off until the next day Monday. When the owner came in he immediately knew what the problem was he said due to bad coil pieces of it had clogged up the drain line and the pump causing the flooding in our basement. He states that was not their responsibility and refused to pay for restoration of our basement. Even thougth we had specifically paid for drain line modifications he said that it wasnt their responsibily to clean them out, but unless you work on AC unit I wouldnt consider this common knowledge. So please do not use this company they do not take responsibilty for damages they cause due to poor installation of brand new unit. We ended up having to pay 650 dollars out of pocket to fix the problem they caused. Do not use them! read more
