It was making a pretty terrible noise, and I don't even know what kind of fumes were being emitted. I knew it was probably not going to be a cheap fix and felt pretty dreadful about it. We always do our research on car maintenance and usually have a ball park idea of how much things SHOULD cost. The guys at Freeway were straight forward with us and their prices matched up with what our internet research showed. They let us know we would eventually have to replace the exhaust parts, and it would be more expensive. However, they offered us a more affordable (but short term) solution to weld the pipes together. They gave us a quote and followed through on that quote with no surprise fees. We also got an oil change from Freeway while our car was getting fixed. They did all of this in a day! I hate to say this, but as a woman, I hate dealing with most mechanic shops. The past few I have been to have tried to rip me off, and it gets pretty old and is disheartening. I'm happy to find a place I can trust. I will likely be returning here to get my oil changed and other car maintenance.

I called and got a wonderful reception and offer to get a diagnosis and if the repairs are done in shop, the diagnostic fee is included in repairs. They were very friendly very communicative, seemed very honest and interested in making sure that you had a great experience. I was able to hang out in the shop office while they looked at my car and tried to figure out what was going on. It was a very nice experience, a lot different than a lot of other mechanics that I've visited in my lifetime. I called BIg Red Tire and explained my situation. The person that I spoke with patiently listened, found the closest provider of this service covered under my plan, and has promised to send copies of my paperwork so that I can get my tires rotated. They decided to tackle the timing belt first, but then kept discovering more parts and more issues. This is recently inspected, newly purchased, well-maintained with full records vehicle. But they had it tore down and no way for me to get it back. So I went along, kept buying more parts.... Long story short. I just paid over $1300 for a basic tune-up, and I bought the parts! They've had the vehicle for 6 weeks!! Best part, they wait until today to tell me the wipers were too difficult and those are still broke.
